This is a YouTube video titled "Part 5 Why you need to create a powerful headline on your LinkedIn profile" containing a presentation or talk by Mike Richards from November 2020. In this segment, Mike Richards discusses how to craft an effective LinkedIn headline, advising against generic buzzwords and encouraging unique, achievement-oriented descriptions to stand out professionally.
Okay, moving on down through your LinkedIn profile. You've got a good photo, we want a nice, powerful headline. These are some of the words we don't want to see on your profile. And I'll be watching your faces to see who's got these. You are a passionate. No, Craig, it's not that kind of conference. Creative? No, creative accounting. Any treasury specialists in the room? Strategic detail. I was on the train on the way to the UK conference the other day. Guy was saying, I'm connected to you on LinkedIn. We actually had this slide. I was going through the slides and redoing them. Guy called James. Lovely. Guy said, oh, Mike, will you look at my profile? And I just literally put it next to his profile. We actually noticed that he had Creative Treasury Specialist, Strategic all on there. He was like, ah. I said, yeah, you're going to be doing some work. He said, yeah, and carried on. He started to change it straight away. Don't be like, James, you need your LinkedIn headline, your profile to not be like, how do you call it? Taffy candy floss, as we call it. Sweet words but instantly forgotten. You need it to be something like this. Think about what makes you unique. If you're thinking about all the treasury specialists. I've done this a couple of times, won't do it today. But then everyone tried to brainstorm a couple of their own unique words and things that they contributed. Have you said, you know, are you really into your working capital? Loving that. Are you a senior treasurer that's made a real impact. You can make these changes. All of these slides, by the way, are on the mobile app, so you can access them or give us your cards afterwards and we'll send them to you. Probably 50% of people in the room have the word strategic in there. And I'll have to look at mine. Why is that not. Because what it is, is, number one, everybody has it, so you're not standing out from the crowd. But what you can do is attach it to other information so you could have strategic. In what way? Prove it. Make it achievement orientated. We'll come on to that a bit. A little bit. It's your so what moment. If I read this, I'm gonna go, ah, so he's Strategic Treasury Specialist. Yeah. Next. Oh, is that's all it's going to do? Sa.
