This is a YouTube video titled "Part 6 Why you need to make your summary shine" containing a monologue by Mike Richards recorded in November 2020. In this segment, Mike Richards offers advice on how to craft a compelling personal summary, emphasizing the importance of making it unique and engaging, using techniques like the "Simon Cowell moment" and seeking honest feedback from friends.
Well, just as Craig says there, you want to make your summary shine as you work through both your headline and your summary. It's about you. It's your so what? Moment, showing the real you. Why are you any different to the person sitting next to you? Again, it's a so what? Moment. You've got a. What I want you to do is you might have heard, you know, Simon Cowell. Anyone heard of the guy? I want you to do a Simon Cowell moment. And it actually works really well. So do your LinkedIn profile. Maybe tonight, you know, at happy hour, people will be seeing you sitting there going, what's he doing? Really weird. But you do redo your profile, close your laptop, go away, have a coffee, have a beer, something stronger, reopen it and try and look at it with a real critical eye and say, does that make me any different to anybody else? Or even better, ask one of your close personal friends who can really rip the heck out of you and say, this makes you no different, and get them to feedback because they're the audience. Sa.
