Part 7 Showcasing your expertise

This is a YouTube video titled "Part 7 Showcasing your expertise" containing a monologue by Mike Richards recorded in November 2020. In this segment, Mike Richards discusses strategies for professionals to showcase their expertise through presentations, videos, articles, and recommendations to build trust and stand out in their field.
So what else can you do? You showcase your expertise. How use pictures. Got a lot of these. If you've been featured in presentations, you know, you might have spoken at other conferences. Link to the YouTube video. These are all. And they're putting a lot more video content online as well. So it's a really good thing to do on your profile, promote yourself. Anyone that has literally spoken here, and I'll be watching out for the speaker badges as well, put up something about that. If you've written an article and you can share it as a slideshare or you can put more information, it demonstrates your expertise as well. If someone's looking at you and thinking, oh, should I connect with them as well? We're looking at a new treasury management system or something like that, and you've put a case study that you've worked on or written an article, they're going to love that. Recommendations. People always ask me, do they work? Well, let's quick show of hands and keep your hands up if you would. Could you put your hands up if any of you have ever bought anything from a little known website called Amazon, keep your hands up. Okay, could I ask you, has anybody keep their hands up? Looked at the star ratings on those as well. Brilliant. A few hands went a bit higher. They were like, whoa. Could you keep your hands up if you've met that person? Oh, so you're believing the word of a total stranger. That's really good. I'm not worried about your judgment in this room at all. But guys, what it is is we want to be trusted by your peers. But don't be generic. You don't want to just, ah, Mike, he's a great guy, he's a great recruiter. Why was he great? What was different? What is different about you guys? Why are you good at cash management? What makes you stand out from the person again next to you? When you're asking for a recommendation, people say, well, who do I ask? Don't ask the guy sitting next to you at the lunch table or girl. Basically, they're going to give you a nice recommendation, hopefully. Especially if you bought them lunch. Ask perhaps a previous boss or someone that's worked for you, then they can give a reasoned description of what you like.
