Strategic Treasury Advisory Position in Private FS Firm

Mike Richards describes a Strategic Treasury Advisor role at a private financial services firm in New York. The job focuses on capital structuring, securitization, and asset-backed securities work for candidates with structured finance or investment banking backgrounds.
Hello, Mike Richards here, Treasury recruitment company. As you can see, I'm recruiting rather a special role. It's an unusual one if you like, Strategic treasury advisor. So it's in New York obviously. Really great, beautiful place and be there soon. It's a challenge. Why? Most of the roles that we recruit fall into classic frameworks if you like, so classic buckets. So you've got your cash management, foreign exchange banking, treasury management systems, maybe some debt, usual stuff. This is not that role. I actually had a resume from a candidate the other day and they said I've got this background, what do you think? I said, do you know what, you've got a great background. You are the typical candidate that I place. Oh fantastic. I said you are totally not right for this role. Oh said no, this is one side, if you like, of the role which is your side and that's what I usually do. Well, this is the other side where it's still just as valid but it's different. So I'll give you some of the ideas why it wasn't the right fit. Because this is the strategic side of the balance sheet. So advisory, not operational. And that's why they've given it that title. So Strategic special projects, it's about how they shape finance investments and structure capital. You'll be working for a private investment group, partnering with some of the senior stakeholders and taking the lead on complex structuring work. So that means securitization, abs, asset backed securities. You've got cross functional projects with tax, legal investment teams. One day you're working with them, one with another day. Some days you're working with all of them. External work with the banks, rating agencies, advisors. So literally you're doing all that stuff. The team said to me every day you're learning. Every day's a school. They meant it. No two days are exactly the same. So if you're going to fit that background, not day to day operations, it's different. This is going to suit you. If you're working in more capital markets and things, if you've come through say maybe structured finance, investment banking or corporate banking and that, or, and or into your corporate treasury career. And you really enjoy that side of things. And you like modeling, analytics, strategic thinking. This is the role you've been looking for, which is fantastic. So apply, send me your resume, couple of other bits. You're going to be confident in technical detail, modeling and presenting ideas. Because this is also not just about reporting ideas, this is about influencing. So once a problem comes along, you go, how do I solve this second time out. Again, this is my solution. What do you think? So actually taking ownership some of those things and work streams as well, and looking at how they you might structure finance in the future as well. Lots of challenges. To be honest, it's one of the most interesting mandates I've had in quite a while. If this sounds like the right kind of role and a bit different, send me a resume and let's have a conversation and I can share some more information. Thank you very much. Thanks.
