Tea, Coffee & Treasury Salaries: Why UK vs US Pay Is Like a Starbucks Menu ☕💸

This is a YouTube video titled "Tea, Coffee & Treasury Salaries: Why UK vs US Pay Is Like a Starbucks Menu ☕💸" featuring Mike Richards discussing treasury salaries, cost of living differences between the US and UK, and upcoming treasury recruitment events. The content is a monologue by Mike Richards sharing insights from his 25 years in treasury recruitment and promoting his newsletter and events.
Mike Richards here, Treasury recruitment company talking treasury salaries moving between markets and growing this community. Wow. Okay. This week's newsletter was about treasury salaries, how they compare between the US and the uk. We also include Europe in that as well. The key point is the differential in cost. Living cost, taxes, salaries really are. It's a bit like tea and coffee. And actually the lovely summer Simmons, who I see next week, we were talking, right. So if you have a cup of tea. She likes tea, I like tea. But compared coffees. So coffee in the UK from a Starbucks might cost you, say, four pounds. Same coffee. Exactly the same. Cost you $12. Okay. Do your conversions. Still double the money? Yeah. The reason is it's different. The UK and the US are different. I know you know this, but what I mean is that taxes are different. Price pay structures, different salaries and benefits, health care, cost of living, everything varies. That's what I was saying in the newsletter. That's why we do our salary survey. Go to treasurysaturated.com People ask sometimes, can I move between. You know, I'd love to move from the US to the uk. You can't. You haven't got work visa. Unless you have. And I haven't got a green card. You haven't got a green card, you can't go to the us. We can help you. If you want to move around the us, we can help with you. And Europe, you can move around. Free flow. So that's it. Other than that, why I started doing more video. It's a weird one. I got told, mike, you should do more video. Why? From Deirdre, my business coach. I've got a face of radio. That's why I do podcasts. You can see this. Sorry, but is anyone going to actually watch? Am I just going to be spouting more about recruitment and some of the stuff? Turns out she was right. Deirdre was right. Yeah, I've said it there on video. I know you guys love this. Why? Because my impressions have taken off on LinkedIn. I wasn't doing it for the impressions of doing it to give back and give you the knowledge of 25 years of being in treasury recruitment. That's why I do my events. That's why I go around the world and meet you all. And that then came into it. I was asked my mate Matt the other day, said, mike, are you mainly focusing on the US now? I was like, no, Matt, I mean, mostly focusing on Treasury. Okay, where is that? It can be in the us, it can be in the uk, in fact, UK and Europe. Are obviously home market. So that's where I do most of my recruitment. Then I'm helped in America by Joe Grabowski. Amazing guy. He helps me. I focus on the world of global treasury just like you guys do. Matt might be off in the US and then back in the uk and then he's off to Europe and then he's off to Asia Pacific. Why? Because you're treasurers and you. So do we. That's why we do it international scale. So New York, New. Off to New York next week I'm in Houston and then I'll be doing texpo and then, yeah, come along to them. They're amazing events. I've got. We've got 130 signed up for New York. Wait. Then a month later, Texas, if you're in Texas, sign up for our Treasure Career Corner, live in Houston. And then I'll be doing texpo and then, yeah, come along to them. They're amazing events. I've got. We've got 130 signed up for New York next week. Bit scary. I thought we're gonna have 60 minimum and then it went to 80, then went to 100, now we're 130. And that's because of my amazing guests. We've got Summer, Frank and Sandra. They'll do the hard work and I'll just chat to them as well. Stuff other things to join us. Then we're back to London in June. Then we've got Dublin straight after. So London, June 5th. Sign up for this. Going to be a great one. Got mags from Max Bork from Duracell, we've got Declan Dorley from dcc getting them over from Dublin. And I've got Philip Leroyd as well from oci. So it's an amazing panel there. I've got two out of three ladies I'm hopefully gonna. I'll announce next week. Yeah, my third lady for. For Dublin. We shall see. And then straight after that, summer. The actual summer, not Summer Simmons. She's amazing. Chicago, New York, Euro Finance, afp. Boston, London, Netherlands. What a year, eh? There you go. So, getting you treasury sign up for the newsletter. I was actually a bit nervous about it. You can also go to treasurynewsletter.com you'll get a pay review guide there as well. But every. This is. I'm going to stop now. Other people do their newsletter. It's just a load of all BS about different subjects and. And I'm not going to give them any if you're hiring. Call me if you need a new job. Call me, drop me an email. You've got Katie, Carly, myself in UK and Europe. You've got Joe and myself covering the us and we are looking at another person in the US as well. And we are talking about some senior roles. We're just doing that with Katie at the moment across Europe and the uk. If you're looking for a role, drop us an email. All right, thanks very much.
