Week 3: CV Advice

Mike Richards from a treasury recruitment company walks through how to write a CV that works. He covers power phrases, checklists, and blog resources to strengthen your application before moving on to LinkedIn profile tips next week.
Hi, it's Mike Richards here from the treasury recruitment company. We're here in week three of the Bounce Back program and this is CV and resume advice. Probably Katie's favourite topic. My second favourite against LinkedIn. CV is an interesting thing, actually. It's a living, breathing document. You might just think it's there. It's a bit like my mate Matt, who's a website developer. He says, your website is never finished. A good website, rather, is never finished. Probably you could say the same about a C. It keeps going, it keeps changing and it keeps evolving. With you this week we've got three ways to help you. We put together. Firstly, you've got a really good blog written by Katie about how to. About crafting a strong CV that's also accompanied by a second article, power phrases. So if you've usually got on your cv, for instance, or resume, you've got their achievement focused or things like that, describe one of your achievements, just, you know, bring it to life. How you implemented a Treasury management system with two less staff than you planned for and why you managed to get through it. In addition to that, we've got our handy checklist. There's, I think, 12 points on it we can go through and make sure you're not missing some glaring errors, if you like. And following on from that, we've got links to some of our most popular articles which relate to CVs and resumes, such as why I personally hate personal statements. I just think they're factual and they don't work. But if you read the article, a CV summary statement does work, so I think you should actually look at that. And that's enough for this week, I think. You know, enjoy this week, get CVs next week. We're on to how to create a strong LinkedIn profile, one of my favorites, which I do a lot of talking about at international conferences. I look forward to seeing you soon. Anything.
