This is a YouTube video titled "Week 4: LinkedIn Advice for Treasury Professionals" containing a monologue by Mike Richards recorded in May 2020. Mike Richards provides detailed guidance on improving LinkedIn profiles specifically for treasury professionals, covering areas such as headlines, summaries, photos, networking, and recommendations as part of a multi-week assignment series.
Hello, everyone, it's Mike Richards from the treasury recruitment company. Thanks to all of you for what was a great zoom session today where we talked about your CVs, resumes, improved them. You got some amazing feedback both throughout the session and also kept coming afterwards. So really appreciate that. This next week coming up, we're going to move on. We're going to be deep diving into your LinkedIn profiles this week. As you look at your LinkedIn profiles, I want you, as I said on the call, to decide where you need to improve. The areas we're going to focus on in the assignment itself, cover, if you like, all over your profile. So look at your profile, look at your LinkedIn page and decide where you think you need help. It could be we focus on areas like your headline, your summary area, your URL. Right up the top you might be your photo, your photos. You need some work, okay, focusing on that, if it's good and professional, don't bother with that area. Skip that, that bit. You might want to read it if you want a bit of a laugh. It's quite fun in there. Then below that, we focus on writing and actually getting across to people what you're like as a person through your LinkedIn profile and some of the things like videos and some of your work that you produced. Then we also talk about your connections and growing those and that's growing your network versus also we then talk about recommendations, we also then talk about how you can join some groups. It's a long neglected area by LinkedIn, but, you know, that is what it is. And then also about nurturing your network. It's another area where you grow it and keep developing. So hopefully that'll be the fourth out of your six assignments which will give you a chance to really improve and, you know, so your LinkedIn profile, as people are looking through, trying to find their next treasury professional, you're going to stand out to them and that's one of the key things. So thanks for your time this week. We'll see you next week for week five in Assignment five, where we'll be focusing on effective interviewing. Many thanks.
