Gui Costin Testimonial For The Superpower Accelerator

Gui Costin, founder of Dakota, was skeptical about Mike Koenigs' Superpower Accelerator but calls it a 20 out of 10. He got clearer productization, pricing, and distribution strategy, expects at least 10x ROI, and plans to start meetings with a positive personal focus.

So my name is Guy Costin and I run an investment distribution firm called Dakota, which means we raise money for money managers and we also have a bunch of different training and data products. And I first met Mike about a year ago and I almost didn't go to work for him because I had no idea what a superpower accelerator even was. And after I talked to him on the phone and I watched him at a few events, I realized this guy really knows what he's talking about. I have a really good sense that he can do some pretty great things. And I threw my hat over the wall and I got to tell you, it's one of the happiest things I've ever done. He and his team, between Marisa and Aaron and the team, they really know what they're doing, there's enormous amount of breakthroughs and I guarantee you you'll get a really high return on your investment if you take the time to come and work with their team. So I recommend do it now if I'm going to think about what were the big breakthroughs from this week. So how many times can you honestly ask yourself that you've gotten away in a room with a true marketing expert and a team of experts where you have the time just to get everything out of your body, out of your system, out of your brain and almost question everything and just get information out there and have them coach you in different ways? How many times do you really have the opportunity to do that? We can really peel back the onion. It's one thing peeling back the onion with your team, it's another thing doing it with a 25 to 30 year marketing expert and getting all this great feedback. And I've walked away with extensive different ways that we're already implementing as I was here with my sales team back at home. So that's really what my big takeaway is. Just think about it. How many times do you really get the chance to get away by yourself with marketing experts where you have unadulterated two to three days just to download and then you walk away with some unbelievable breakthroughs that you didn't even recognize before you walked in the door?
So anytime that you're making a big investment to come work with a marketing professional, a marketing team, you want to think about what ROI am I going to get right? And while it's probably completely impossible to determine perfectly what that might look like, I guarantee you Mike and his team is going to say it should be at least 10x. So when I'm looking at what we've done really the sky is the limit because I think we've both created the products we wanted to create, we have priced them appropriately and we have the right distribution program for it to justify the value. So my hope is that I walk away from here and we create a multi million dollar additional training and coaching program that we otherwise wouldn't have had. And he really did help accelerate that process through all the thinking. I mean, it was all inside, but it's great, it's all inside of a lot of us. But until it gets pulled out, packaged and then distributed and actually in action, then it doesn't matter. So I would say that Mike and his team and I would say I'm probably at least 10x of what I think that we've put into this, of what we think we can earn and then probably just on the ongoing relationship could even be more than that. So I can't give a strong enough recommendation to Mike and the team. So if you're a CEO and trying to figure out you might not be getting what you need from your team in terms of these off sites and trying to really diagnose things, the key is getting away with a marketing professional where they can unpack everything that you're doing and help you think very differently about it. And then Mike has a very unique ability to learn your business very quickly. He's a quick study and he's a deep quick study and then he can repurpose it back to you. And that's where the breakthroughs start to happen and you start to see your business in a different light. So to me that is the key value. You see your business in a different light by coming to work with Mike and his team. So when I first came here, Aaron who asked me said, where do you think you are right now, like and everything. And I'd say, well, I already have a good feeling. We're 11 out of 10 in terms of working with you guys so far and the day has just begun. We really ended up at a 20 out of 10. And the main reason is they allowed me to see stuff that I wouldn't have otherwise seen. And it's just that simple. But until you go through a process with this, this isn't dealing with some, you know, five year person who doesn't know what they're talking about, hasn't experienced all of this pain and, and you're learning the 25 years of learning or 30 years of learning, it's really that that gets it to be a 20 out of 10. They make you See stuff you wouldn't otherwise see. And that's where the value comes from. And I don't know where else you can get stuff like that without dealing with a true marketing professional.
So the one big takeaway that was non business related is they start all meetings with a positive focus, both personally and professionally, which I think is a really important process that Marius has set up to make the whole program work a lot more smoothly. So that was my big takeaway. It's pretty cool. And we're going to definitely implement it back at home.
So if you think about it, you come for a business situation and I think your personality is so tied to your business, right? And decisions you make in your business and sometimes your insecurities, the things that you're working on, whatever it might be in your life. I decided just with this team, just to acknowledge that. And by acknowledging that, it freed up the conversation to such a degree because it really gave Mike the ability to see me as I am. And then it made a lot more sense as I was positioning myself. And I think he used this term, the value gap. He used example of Elon Musk and Tesla are one in the same. I was a little, I had a little bit of separation and he worked hard to get my separation with my personal to my business aligned.
Listen, at the end of the day, if you're watching this and you're saying, is this investment worth it? The thing you have to ask yourself by not doing it, what might I be giving up? What might I not be learning? And that's really the question, right? He doesn't do these. He doesn't have a reputation because they suck, right? They really do make you see things that you wouldn't otherwise see. But there's no way to handicap that going in. You're just going to have to throw your hat over the wall and do it. So I recommend doing it, especially if you have the money, you have the revenue, and you know, if you're going in with some clear goals that have some clear expectations of revenue going forward, then by all means, absolutely do it. Because you're going to be surprised about what you learn about yourself and about your business.
