Short YouTube clip (Mike Koenigs) discussing how declining trust in government and media has elevated long-form content and AI-influenced research in shaping authority and influence. Koenigs argues long-form platforms (example: Joe Rogan podcast) reach massive audiences and that individuals now spend substantial time researching (quoted average 7 hours 28 minutes) before buying decisions, increasing value of thought-leader positioning and attention.

If there's one thing we've learned over the past year, when you look at the political situation, the media situation, there is no faith in trust in government or in media any longer. If anything you can witness from the last election, it was Barron Trump who told Donald Trump to get on podcast, get on Joe Rogan. It is my strong opinion that is part of what flipped the political situation. It is long form content. Joe rogan podcast averages 11 million viewers and listeners per episode, which is greater than every cable news show. The Trump episode was seen 26 million times in 24 hours. And the number that I have up here is the average individual right now spends 7 hours 28 minutes researching before they make a buying decision and using AI. And I'm curious, from your point of view, does that feel true to you? How much time? Where do you go to actually get informed? Who, who do you trust? So the world in my opinion, especially in an AI influenced world, is that thought, leader positioning, authority and prestige and mystique, credibility and influence. It is an all time premium right now and attention is hard to get.
