A short (≈1-minute) YouTube clip by McCall McPherson listing three reasons patients may continue to have thyroid symptoms: (1) inadequate lab testing (TSH alone is insufficient), (2) being on a medication the body cannot activate (commonly levothyroxine/Synthroid), and (3) adrenal dysfunction (adrenals exhausted from compensation), with a note that alternatives and supplements can help.

Three reasons you still have thyroid symptoms in about a minute. Number one, you're not getting the right labs. You're not getting labs that tell you how your physiology is or is not working. And so you're working with pretend information. Your TSH does not tell you enough if you're having thyroid symptoms as to why. Number two, you are on medication that does not work for your physiology. So it's kind of like it doesn't really matter the dose of medication. If your body is not able to use that medication, AKA for most people, levothyroxine or Synthroid, you will never get well because your body can't activate it and make it usable. So I'll put some alternatives at the end of this video. And number three, your adrenals. Your adrenals are keeping you from feeling the improvement in your thyroid. They've been compensating for so long, they're tired. And there are some incredible supplements that work very well for giving people their lives back and fixing adrenal function. There you go. Check out the details here.
