What Is Modern Thyroid Clinic

A short promotional/explanatory video (speaker: McCall McPherson, a licensed PA) describing Modern Thyroid Clinic, a functional-medicine practice specializing in hypothyroidism and Hashimoto's. The clinic combines pharmaceuticals (including T3 for many patients), integrative therapies (lifestyle changes and supplements), and in-depth lab analysis to identify autoimmune/root causes and deliver precise dosing aimed at complete symptom resolution, even for complex cases.

Modern thyroid clinic is a functional medicine practice that specializes in the treatment of hypothyroidism and Hashimoto's. And I thought you might like to know a little bit about our practice. So really to start, let's talk about what functional medicine is and you can think about it somewhat as kind of a newer, more progressive form of integrative medicine. So I'm not like an antidrug person. I'm a licensed PA which allows me to prescribe medication. Right. So that is included in our form of treatment. So functional medicine really uses regular methodologies of treatment like drugs and pharmaceuticals. It also uses integrative methods of treatment like lifestyle modifications or supplements. But really the one thing that makes it unique is it also really looks at the root cause of what could be driving a condition. So for example, in the realm of hypothyroidism, what we're really interested in is if a person's hypothyroidism is driven by Hashimoto's or the autoimmune component that's usually found with hypothyroidism, we really like to dig in and figure out what is driving the autoimmune disease. So most of the time in functional medicine at least, we believe that autoimmune disease is lifestyle mediated or inflammatory mediated. So we really go on a witch hunt to figure out what is driving that inflammatory response, what can we do to stop it or mitigate it and therefore lower the Hashimoto's antibodies or the autoimmune reaction that's happening with patients. So that's kind of the functional component of our practice. We do things a little bit differently in other ways too. So we do really thorough lab analysis of patients thyroid function and we use really extensive experience in treating thyroid to, to actually treat it with precision so that we don't just slap a dose of medication on a patient and hope for the best, that oh well, we'll see you in six months and hope you feel better by then. We really have in depth knowledge to be able to predict with really good accuracy how a patient's going to respond from a medication to get them to 100% of optimal thyroid. Because the longer I do this, the more I find that when patients go elsewhere, even if they use proper medication, getting someone to 80% of their thyroid optimal function is not going to give them their life back. When I was 27 and going to bed at 3:30 in the afternoon, my labs were not nearly as bad as a lot of my patients who end up coming to see me. So we really believe in precise treatment for complete symptom resolution. We also use different medications than really standard of care. A lot of them include some form of T3. So we have a few things that make us different. We're not just the run of the mill, even outside of the box. Thyroid treatment. We're here to help people even with the most complex thyroid problems. So maybe we'll see you soon.
