This is such a good question. So years ago I used to say and still believe that a lot of it is due to the fact that they don't know how to interpret that information and that doesn't ever feel good. But second I learned this within the last year. If clinicians order full thyroid panels they are costing insurance a lot of extra money and eventually what happens is insurance comes back to them and they say oh if you keep ordering all these extra labs we're going to drop you from our policy and you're no longer going to be a provider on our network and that damages the physician or clinician so they don't want to do that. This is another reason why sometimes you have to get out of the insurance method to get adequate care. At modern thyroid clinic we literally work for our patients. Like we are not working to save your insurance money or anything like that. We are your advocates and your partners period. So kind of makes sense right.
