Okay, first of all, look at how cute my leggings are. I have light blue ones, too, and I just ordered pink ones. They're from the Story Activewear. This is not a partnership. I just applied to be an affiliate, so I'll let you know if I get a discount code. But they're the best. The best. Also, February is American Heart Health Month, and I wanted to talk to you guys about the connection between thyroid conditions and. And heart disease. So heart disease, hands down, is the number one killer of men and women globally, and it is, or at least was last year, kills more people than all forms of cancer combined. So big deal. And it is a pervasive issue in the thyroid community in that in early stages of hypothyroidism, or poorly managed thyroid, you start to get elevations in your blood sugar and your cholesterol, which, you know, often you'll go to the doctor. This is exactly what happened to me. I went to the doctor at 27. My thyroid was my real issue. But they were telling me over and over my thyroid looked fine, even though I had every darn symptom and that I would need to go on cholesterol medication. He tried to put me on Lipitor. I was like, no, absolutely not. So very common theme, you guys. So if you're noticing that your cholesterol is creeping up or your hemoglobin A1C, your blood sugar, you need to really dig in deep with your thyroid, because if you can root cause fix that, cholesterol so often improves. I see this all the time at modern thyroid clinic. And keep in mind, the same thing that drives increases in your cholesterol and blood sugar is what drives weight gain and weight retention with hypothyroidism, which again, shows up so early. So this month of February, I encourage you to take care of your heart by taking care of your thyroid.
