Why You Keep Repeating the Same Patterns, Even After Therapy with Manex Ibar

Manex Ibar explains why therapy alone doesn't break patterns: you need to recognize the fear underneath, align your body with your mind, and move from victim to co-creator. He built Sphinx Code to map relational patterns and help people shift from scarcity mindsets to intentional action.

Can you talk to us a little bit how the wound is the medicine?
For the ones that are going through their suffering, which is the soul trying to understand the body, and the body is trying to understand the soul. When you're in the deep wound and the hurt of it, obviously when the scar is nice and safe and everything's gone and you've learned why you went through that, that's a whole process. That is why the wound showed up in the first place. It's the beginning of the suffering that makes you become aware of a behavioral pattern that needs to shift. So implication, acceptance, integration is the process of how life brings us these experiences, tons of them, to learn and to grow. And the integration is losing fear that it will happen because you understood the lesson.
My dear friend, Manish, welcome to Rooted in Wellness.
Thank you. So nice to be here.
I could talk to you for hours already. Oh my gosh. All right, so let's start with this. This podcast is all about becoming more rooted. So that's rooted in your health, in your happiness, And what I believe is this inner knowing that we all have to be able to heal ourselves. And so the first question that I love to ask, what are 2 or 3 things that help you feel more rooted in yourself every day?
Every day. I love to go for a walk in the morning in nature. And actually, when I'm in cities now, it drives me a little crazy. But still, just that walk in the morning and almost like setting myself to the sunlight. If I can, I'll watch the sunrise. That's one of my favorite things. So that's something that immediately roots me and kind of resets me. And then the second one I have to pick— wow, there's a lot of things that are coming up. My wife was one of them, or my family and my love, for sure. And I think that's probably a great one, even though that can also be a whole derooting.
That's so true. Depending on the day. Depending on the day.
I at least come with the goal of rooting with my wife. Depends on her moods.
Exactly. What's interesting when I ask you this question is that I find people who sit in that chair who really have become— like, their essence is rooted. They understand the full meaning of it. It's just, there's no other option. It's more challenging to think of the things that help you feel rooted in the morning because it's just part of your everyday practice, which is fascinating.
Yeah, that's what my mind was like actually running. I was like, wow, it could be breathwork, it could be meditation, it could be sports, it could be the fact that I am already in my purpose and therefore I love it and I can ground into that anytime I feel a little bit unrooted. So yeah, there was a lot of things.
That is, you just nailed it. And that's exactly why I asked this question, because I think that for a lot of people listening to anything to do with health and wellness, they're still addicted to looking for the thing, the protocol. What does he do? Oh, I'm going to do that too. No, depends on the day, how you feel in your physical body, the season that you're in, whatever it is, just the ownership behind that. So the flip side of that is feeling uprooted, right? When we feel uprooted, we are distracted from our body, from the wisdom within. And you and I share a similar journey from, you know, coming from the corporate world and this exciting, like, New York City past life. Do you notice when you become uprooted again? Does that happen very often? And what are things that cause you to feel uprooted?
I do. I think actually now coming into the city, which I loved before, now that uproots me. And I think emotional disturbances in relational dynamics, meaning it's not a conflict so much, but it's a misunderstanding between people and the vibe, instead of being kind of calm, easy, understanding, and that love shows up, There's a real disruption of that because of either miscommunication, usually, or conscious awareness that is completely not matched. And so, the 2 people look at it from such different perspectives that it's really difficult to even bring them together.
Yeah.
Me and somebody else, for example. And that can really be derouted. I think also, discussions today in politics is insane.
Yeah.
Where people are so in their convictions, and instead of having a real conversation that is open-minded, we just go into our emotional power. And that's exactly what I'm talking about. It's like this emotional disruption that takes away the, I don't know, the conscious legitimacy or the conscious peace of being able to dialogue and being able to debate without going crazy. And wanting to kill each other. And I feel like right now there's so many triggers that people have, and that's where I get unrooted. Yeah, uprooted.
It's funny how many parts of the system are really designed right now to keep us unconscious, which is why we have this podcast, to talk about these things. Um, there's so much that I want to talk to you before about. You gave me a beautiful session using your Sphinx Code prior to this, which we'll dive into a little bit more, but let's dive in with some rapid-fire questions first.
Okay.
So, we're going to go deeper on all of them, but whatever comes to mind. What's one question that most people are too afraid to ask themselves?
I think a lot of times people don't ask about their purpose. They do, but they don't. They don't really want to know, I think. They want to follow a path that's already been outlined and that's safe. But actually, it's more like, what's your purpose that scares you the most? And that's probably where I think the answers are.
As I think about this, it's such a deep question. I think a lot of people are probably really afraid of that. What's one thing that people could stop doing immediately that would bring them closer to knowing who they actually are?
Well, getting to know your Sphinx Code or your Human Design, I think, is really quick into getting to know who you are, for sure.
Overrated or underrated? Personality tests like the Myers-Briggs or the Enneagram?
I mean, I think the personality test is overrated. And I've actually worked on trying to change that one, because I think the ego gets into it, versus the Enneagram, probably underrated.
Okay. Yeah, I agree with you. Myers-Briggs, I'm apparently the most introverted introvert that's out there. And I feel like that's helped me create a story around that about myself. All right. What's the most dangerous belief that someone can have about their wounds?
Wow. The most dangerous belief that somebody can have about their wounds is probably That it's not worth looking at or solving.
What's one thing that nature can teach us about ourselves that no therapist can?
Oh, wow. The whole book. I think that we are absolutely supported by Mother Earth, and therefore that this abundance really exists, and it is part of who we are, and that scarcity is a lie.
Do you know the one t-shirt? I was traveling in India, and I went to a plantation for spices. And it was run by women only who had a connection with the earth. And they all wore a t-shirt that says, in nature we trust.
That's awesome. I want that.
But for all things to stand out in my mind, now I understand why. All right, last one. If you had to describe The Sphinx Code in one sentence, what would you say?
The Sphinx Code is a map of your life that you can understand, and it becomes a compass.
What's so beautiful about this, and I'm smiling so much for listeners, so you know, it's almost as though you can understand a blueprint around this hidden code that we all hold within us that could be the cause of our suffering, or the cause of us believing an identity that doesn't actually exist, or even the cause of our awakening, right? You talked about so many things that I feel like are part of my awakening after a very challenging year.
Mm-hmm.
And I know a lot of our listeners in our community, for so many of us, the past year and a half, still ongoing. It's been really, really challenging. And when we think about this from the modern identity lens, we're more disconnected than ever. We know more about health and wellness than ever before. And despite that, rates of anxiety, burnout, fatigue, and depression are on the rise amongst adults and children. And we're not stopping to do anything about it.
I know.
And on top of that, I think that there's probably a downfall in In the sense of this concept of a third space, going somewhere for religion or community or spirituality. We're finding it in so many new ways. So for so many of us who are disconnected in our worlds, how is this impacting our psyche and how we show up?
I mean, the disconnection is one of the key aspects of, I think, dis-ease.
Right.
Right? And what are we disconnected from is actually our divinity, our own belief in our true power. And so, we give our power away all the time to others that are supposedly authorities or experts in this, that they've lived their authenticity. And so, we're looking for that. And yet, we give the power back still to them. And it's this constant disconnection that we've been— taught by school, by religion, by a lot of different systems that are going on in our society. And so, this technology that we have now with social media that is actually continuously pushing us to more disconnection, it makes us go crazy. I mean, we're literally losing our minds slowly by disconnecting to our truth, our authenticity, and our power.
This is with everything online. Like, I wonder, we can all kind of identify with the white lab coat concept. We give away our power to the doctor. I certainly did when I had my heart surgeries. They were the ones in control of my health, and I felt like I was powerless. So many people feel that way. They're scared or intimidated to even ask questions. Now we're giving our power away to anyone that we find online that we see who has a following, or even influencers. I wonder that. But even through creativity and through writing and AI. Right? That freedom of thought, freedom of speech is dissipating. And look, I have an AI platform. I know that it can be used for things that are beautiful. But unless we're having conversations like these, we're not really in touch with our own subconscious or uniqueness anymore.
That's true.
We were talking, or you mentioned Carl Jung. Until we make the unconscious conscious, it will direct your life, and we call it fate.
Yeah. I mean, I love this argument, or we talk a lot about it with my wife, Victoria, about fate and destiny. What's the difference? And I think destiny is something that— and this is why I called it The Sphinx Code— is because the Sphinx supposedly is the holder of our destiny. And he asks the riddle. And then if you pass the riddle, you get to your destiny. Otherwise, it kills you, right? Versus the idea of weaving your fate. And so, we have this choice. We have— and this is another thing that we talk a lot about— is do we have free will, really?
Yeah.
If you have destiny, then you don't really have free will, normally. And Carl Jung said this, you have destiny and you have free will, but destiny will catch you back up and pull you by the hair to bring you into alignment. And I actually think disease is part of that. Disease is when life is bringing you back into your destiny because you've been so far out of alignment with it, through fear, through conditioning, through all sorts of things. So, weaving your fates and trying to make a really beautiful tapestry towards your destiny is when you're aligned and you're— Power and ego are actually listening to what destiny is calling you for. So destiny, I think we do all have a certain purpose that is outlined by even our birth. So our birth is putting us into an alignment, almost like a geometry, where we get a certain unique perspective. And then life is going to kind of go through the merry-go-round, or down the boat. It's one of my favorite songs. Row, row, row your boat gently down the stream. Merrily, merrily, merrily, life is but a dream. So, how do we navigate this boat? We don't have to too much, as long as we have some signposts and we know that the waterfall is coming, or this is the chill ride, so we can actually enjoy it. And I see the tarot or divination or different spiritual tools as that. They're just signposts. But you're not going to change the river. You're going to go down this river and you're going to have to go through the waterfall and the different chill times and the big merging and all of that. Knowing it, when it's happening, you can take advantage of the situation, and actually prepare yourself and live it with a lot more conscious awareness and joy, hopefully, even though it's still scary to go down the waterfall.
Yeah.
Or go through the breakup, or go through, you know, whatever it is that you're going to be challenged by. So destiny is calling us towards a track. We have that, we have that purpose. It's going to have its ups and downs. But the fate is how we deal with it. And I think that's where spiritual tools like the Sphinx Code can help us. Like, the Sphinx Code is not going to help you break up, but it's going to help you understand why the breakup is necessary.
And yeah, I guess through the same light, it's not going to heal your physical imbalances or symptoms, but it will guide you towards understanding what your blockages could be so that you could address them. We were joking before we started recording that if we only got a training manual for this thing, right? In life also. If we were taught from a really young age the power of our uniqueness, showing up exactly the way that we were, to sing our own unique expression, we would live life so differently. There was no efforting towards fitting in, looking a certain way, acting a certain way, making a certain dollar amount, whatever it is. It puts an end to all suffering. I've been a nutritionist now for 16 years, and I'm so grateful for this community because they've seen me go through this transition of You know, I used to put people on diets and protocols. Then I remembered the ashram and everything that I went through to heal. Then I recognized with everyone that I work with that the ultimate healing are the people who kind of really resonated with their journey. They turned healing into a spiritual journey.
Hmm.
And now here I am again, sitting at this lens of quantum, because I understand that, gosh, was it really ever about the food or the stuff or my mom or my dad? We'll talk about that. And then I remembered something really unique. And this is kind of where what you're teaching, where ancient wisdom and Ayurveda ties into, is the understanding of the exact moment that we're all born. There was a frequency. There was a sound that was made in the universe and how unique we are.
Mm-hmm.
And when we look at healing, isn't it not so refreshing to just— gosh, if we can just go back to remembering what that sound feels like instead of searching or trying or hardcore-ing or efforting or doing or hustling or, right? It just feels so much more aligned. And when I talk about this in depth with a lot of the people I work with, there's an all of a sudden exhale. Like, it just feels so good. You're right. I don't have to effort so much in getting somewhere.
Yes.
So for people listening, can you understand, or can you help them understand the Sphinx Code exactly? What led you to the creation? Let's also talk about the fact that you were struck by lightning. We didn't talk about that a lot. I met you recently at a talk where you mentioned that. But it's really kind of a symbolic code that reveals all parts of ourselves.
I mean, yeah. So it came through, I think, obviously, I seeked a lot of answers in my own healing journey, but also in understanding the mystical. And so these systems kind of came into my life and my scientific mind was very skeptical. Like, astrology, I learned when I was young, but then at the same time, I was like, oh, it's a little general, or you have to really be deep down into the expertise of really understanding every single planet and this and that. And I was like, oh, that's too complicated.
Yeah, too much.
To then having Human Design hit me, like, literally a book, like, fell on me at the Psychic Institute. And so then I got into that, and that was also complicated, but then it became really fascinating. And then the truth of it so precise and almost dumbfounding that it started being like, okay, wait, there really is a system that is unveiling the truth of the energetics. I was clairvoyant and already seeing the energetics and having a system that is paralleling what I'm seeing was quite fascinating. And then the tarot, which I didn't really like, I thought it was kind of, you know, a little bit of a gimmick. When I got hit by lightning and when a lot of this stuff kind of started showing up afterwards, And really unveiling itself, and that there is a mathematics to it, and that the tarot is a lot deeper than just the divination that we use it as, and that these archetypes are codes and frequencies, as you talked about. And that brought it back to music, which was something that I was really deep into. I mean, I am a music engineer, and I worked at Sony and all that. So, the frequency piece was what got me— deeply into resonance with the Sphinx Code and then the tarot, as these archetypes are resonance and frequencies. So the Sphinx Code is like a map of your subconscious. It is the map of your subconscious through the mathematics of your birth information. So it brings you back to what is the archetypes that you carry that are going to play out in your life that you are literally holding. And then I think we have this free will to navigate those archetypes. You can't change the archetype, but you can modernize the archetype in how it expresses itself. And so, first, you have to know which archetypes you have, in which positions, which help you understand yourself. And then you can be creative in modernizing how that archetype plays. Like, let's say the Hermit, right?
Mm-hmm.
The Hermit's fascinating. I mean, you could be the shy one that's introverted and like hides and never shows up, and then okay. Or you could be the Hermit that is such a little partier, but he's doing it in secret.
Yeah.
And he is actually seeking all these different communities to find the answer. And so, he's not always in one community, but he's actually having a lot of fun in many different communities. And therefore, he seems like he's hermiting out to each of the communities when actually he's social the entire year, and actually an extrovert. But he wouldn't think from the outside that he would be.
You just nailed my life. So true.
So, you have 2 Hermits.
I have 2 Hermits.
And so you get to play that. And I think on top of it, each archetype has a journey with age. Your inner child's going to play the archetype differently than when you're a grandmother. That Hermit might actually be much more like, leave me alone, I'm in my mountain, being creative and having fun. And I don't need to be seeking anymore. I found. But what's going to be funny is that people will come to you for that wisdom, even though you're like, no, leave me alone. But then you might be— okay, like, how do you play that? How do you, holding that archetype, let it live through you?
Yeah.
And I think we do have, again, like weaving the fates, you get to play with that archetype and how you want to manifest it.
I think what would be fascinating for a lot of our listeners is this understanding around looking for safety. Right now, nervous system regulation is trending. We're seeing all these people host pop-up weekends in parks to regulate your system, unleash your trauma, and then just go back into the world. Or shamans. All of a sudden, to become a shaman is really trendy.
Yeah, I know.
You know about that.
Yeah, of course.
Yeah. So what's different about this is, you know, there's a lot of story that's going into building up our traumas right now. And when we identify so deeply with that, it's no different than when I was put on medications for my heart palpitations. I identified as somebody who was sick because the doctor gave me the medication, right? We identify with them so deeply, and of course that identity is going to drive our actions.
Mm-hmm.
So if we— let's use mine as an example. So when we look at my mother and my father, right, the cards that I get from my father versus my mother, and I've told you nothing about my story.
Really?
And yet, you know so deeply about what their archetype was. And so I could either go into my pain and my suffering like, oh, they were my parents. This is my suffering. Woe is me. This is why I am the way that I am today, instead of just Recognizing that, oh, it was just their archetype. I can end my belief system around that in this moment, just like that, to end my suffering. How can Sphinx Code then be used in the same light without people having to go through that story of regulating, looking for the energy healer in the park to resolve their symptoms and unleash their trauma?
I mean, yeah, that's what I hope. And that's why I'm actually taking a lot of time to bring it out to people so that they have the information to get out of their storyline that is the trauma, and then that loops because they're identifying with the trauma. I mean, the trauma is really an experience that was overwhelming for the mind at that moment. And so you disassociate. And so in a way, shamanically, we look at— it's almost like there's a little piece of that energy that stays hooked into that time and space. And we keep moving on forward, but it's unresolved. It's an unresolved consciousness piece from usually an overwhelming emotional reaction that we didn't know how to handle because we were too young or not ready for it or whatever it was, right? Even though, in a sense, I don't believe in victimization, there's collective victimization that's a little bit more complicated. And I don't want to get into that, like what's going on in Gaza and like Congo and all that. And because it's so intense, and there's a lot of politics around that.
But individual victimization.
We are co-creating our life, and we are calling experiences into our life to live them. Our subconscious is actually doing that. So, when you do know your subconscious, you can understand what you're calling in. Or when something comes to your life, you can understand which pattern or which archetype is actually calling that in, so that there's less surprise. Therefore, there's less trauma around it. And you can take— Power, your power, to live it accordingly by knowing the wound or the negative aspect of that archetype versus the positive aspect. So, hopefully, if you know your Sphinx Code, you can start living your life with a lot more fluidity and understanding of what you're calling in.
Mm-hmm.
Like, if you have wounds from, let's say, past lives or karma, or even, let's say, your parents, right? that you think, at least, because the archetypes are in you. I'm reading how you saw your parents. I'm sure if I asked your dad if he believed that, he'd be like, well, maybe, kinda. But actually, I have these things, right? And he has his story with his parents on top of it. And so, it actually gives you a lot more compassion when you get to see his chart. But your perspective of your father and your mother, with your archetypes, which is actually your masculine, And your own feminine wounds. Those need to be resolved. So actually, your parents helped you resolve them by accentuating them.
Yeah.
And making them obvious for you. Now, so you can either stay in the story of, oh, they victimized me, or shift it and be like, ah, they helped me see it. And I can get out of that one. At least the Sphinx Code will show that to you. It's funny, because actually, When people first meet their Sphinx Code, and they just read it in the app, they usually want to criticize the way that we describe the parents, because oftentimes they're still stuck in that victimization. And so they're like, no, that's not how it was. And no, that's not me, that's them. Right?
Yeah.
And then when they think about it, they're like, wow, that's a different perspective of it. I hadn't seen that. And actually, now that I identify with it, it helps them to heal it. And then they start seeing it in their life. Oh, every time I went to a job, this is actually what I was looking for. And that is part of the pattern of that archetype. Or every time I'm in a relationship, I was seeking the same relationship. And so hopefully you get out of the loops, you get out of your archetypal wounds that are in you.
Yeah.
And so, again, the shock of the immune system or a nervous system that's completely like haywired, And I mean, there's a lot that's going on with that. I mean, our life is pretty stressed with our society that's kind of going crazy. And even though we do have all these tools, we sometimes forget to apply them.
It's really why I wanted to ask that question. And it's not to dismiss the traumas that we've all been through. It's not about that. And there are some incredible healers that I'm sure do sessions in a park, and shamans as well, obviously. And I think the point of that is, who and what are you giving your power to?
Yes.
And even the story, like you said, that we're telling about our parents when it's our story, or the healer that we meet with and it's their story, right? Instead of the full ownership. And even as healers, when someone refers to me as a healer, I often just say, I did nothing. You are the healer. That's the entire foundation of what I do. You're the healer. I've just gone through my own journey to now shed light, like the hermit with the light walking through the forest.
Exactly.
I'm taking the light with me. Something that you said that was interesting was around understanding that predetermined aspect. So going back to the destiny, you said that our psychological wounds, they're not random, but they're written into us even before we're born, encoded by cosmic transits during Gestation. I believe this. If we look at something like genetic disease, right? So on my mom's side, there's rheumatoid arthritis, which she had very terribly, and she had a lot of trauma in her life. Her mother, the same debilitating rheumatoid arthritis with a lot of trauma in her life. And touch wood, now I'm the first generation to not have it, and I'm doing a lot of the work to not have it.
Mm-hmm.
But I really do believe that a lot of this is encoded within us. In fact, Johns Hopkins, they're proving that our DNA around trauma can actually be passed down.
Yes.
Right? So what does that mean practically for someone who's trying to understand the pain that they carry?
It's a really good question, and it's deep. And I think it does show some of the mechanics of what's going on genetically as well as spiritually, and how the genetics and the spiritual are very, very linked.
They're really overlapping.
They really are. And I love these kind of scientific revelations that are happening, because they are also linking to some of these deeper spiritual philosophies that it's very hard to prove. Like karma, how do you prove that? I mean, you have to kind of stay there for over 100 years and re-find somebody that reincarnates. It's like, wow, that's tough. Even though there's an awesome movie called Origins, I think, And it was this scientist that was looking to see that basically the eye is an imprint that is absolutely unique, like a genetic code. And so that if we did reincarnate, we would probably take the same eye imprint.
Wow.
And you just have to go find them. And in this story, he actually finds his love who died in an elevator. I'm getting chills, actually. And so, He finds this little girl in India. And then she has the same imprint of the eyes, even though she's completely— and it was in Europe that this person got the doors closed on her in the elevator. And he takes this little girl to the hotel, and she comes to the elevator. And the girl has a complete panic attack and freaks out. And it's unexplainable.
Right.
And he's like, oh my God, it is her.
Wow.
Because that's a karmic wound from her past life, in a way.
Right. That's really good.
And so, to go back to what your question is about this genetic diseases, I think there is a passing on of, yeah, certain wounds. Like, let's say there's sexual wounding from the lineage that has never been resolved. You just suppressed it. You're passing it on to your child. they might have never dealt with that sexual wound, but they're actually dealing with the energetics of it. And so that is the symptom. It's the same that's happening and being passed down. And we can say it's genetic, even though we know that genetically, when you have a genetic disease and then you adopt a child, the child doesn't have that gene expression, right?
Right.
But then they come into the environment, and they get brought up by these 2 parents that have that genetic issue. All of a sudden, the kid develops that same genetic disease. So it's really an energetic passing on or lifestyle choice. Because I think the food is actually another way. I mean, it's a lifestyle choice. And then, so eating and changing your nutrition is actually changing your lifestyle. And that's where you start actually changing your energetics as well. And I think we don't talk enough about energetics. So the map of Sphinx Code, where you know your archetypes, that's great. And you can see certain aspects of belief systems, you can see certain energetic patterns that could be passed down. And you could see for the Hermit, for example, you have to go look at what is this energy that's being passed down through your lineage. In your case, it would be your mother, because that's also where your Hermit is. But it can't say what it is. It's usually this or that. And so then the rheumatoid— I can't say that word.
Rheumatoid, yeah.
Rheumatoid arthritis. Okay, what's happened in your lineage, energetically, in a way? that has created that expression. And I would go look at that. And once you discover that, you can then understand it and overcome it so that the genetic expression doesn't happen.
In Ayurveda, they say that these types of autoimmune conditions, it's the result of storing trauma, not processing it or expressing it, right? We just hold on to everything with it. It's a superpower for women, which doesn't surprise me that autoimmune impacts women. More than men also, right? And this comes from all wisdoms. Like, this isn't just an Ayurvedic wisdom. There's indigenous tribes and Egyptians and ancient Greece. Like, it really just shows up everywhere. Original Chinese medicine, obviously, right?
100%.
Just being masters at understanding this. And it was so important for me to have you on to really understand and really just, like, communicate over and over and over and over and over. It's so much more than food and exercise and diets and protocol and how to move your body. And we're so stuck on that as a culture. When we kind of take introspection into deeper forms of understanding ourselves, then the intensity or the grip that all the things that we think we need to be doing, it really just lessens a little bit, right? And then, like, if we have to back it by science, we just go to these Blue Zones where They don't talk about food. They don't talk about their diet. They don't talk about how many steps they got in, in a day, the foods that they can't eat or should eat, right? They're living their lives to the fullest. And I think that this is so powerful because it takes the soul into consideration. And we're talking about the word longevity, right? We're so focused on living a long time, not looking a certain way, getting to this number. And yet, is your soul experiencing what it means to be fully expressed in this human body, or is it not? Would you say that that deeper connection is probably one of the greatest gifts that you see when you work with people who come to see you?
100%. I mean, I think that's exactly what— even the cliché of the shaman that says, when did you stop dancing? When did you stop loving? When did you stop singing? That's actually the soul that's fully expressing itself. And that is, in a way, my job. When people come— I mean, I didn't really seek to be a healer. That's the thing. And on top of it, I resisted it. But it ended up working just because my clairvoyance could see energetics. And so, I started seeing energetic patterns. And then the energetic patterns were manifesting as disease, or the symptoms. And so, I started healing through that patterning of me recognizing that. But I hated being the healer, because I'm not healing. They are healing. I'm just seeing. And then at a point, it was actually quite interesting, because I started seeing that the journey of also who's in front of me, needing that healing was also a reflection of what I needed. So oftentimes I was saying it to them, even though I was taking in my own words, and then I needed to apply it. And then that also got me out of a lot of my situations.
Right.
As I helped people journey through things. And then there was a point where, like, it was not a mirror anymore. It was literally like me just learning. And I was like, wow, that's— I have nothing to do with that. But I'm learning the pattern, because now I've learned to recognize these patterns, energetic patterns. And I'm just almost creating a library and continuing all the way through. And then there was a point where I was like, okay, I'm done with healing. I get the symptoms. Now it's how do you express the optimization?
Yeah.
How do you bring the soul fully into it? And of course, you can't do it when you're in pain or when you have symptoms. But when you don't have the symptoms, then what else is there? And then that's when I started guiding, spiritually guiding people into the optimization of how do you take it higher? How do you optimize your consciousness, your purpose, your— why are you here? How your soul wants to express itself and why it took this body in this shape, which actually is in alignment with the soul's purpose. And that's incredible. Why do you look like Pocahontas with all this indigenous roots that aren't from here, and yet you're living here in the Americas?
Mm-hmm.
During this time when America is the superpower, And moving into America, Canada, Mexico, who knows what's going on. And that empire is also falling versus India knows— I mean, it's so beyond in its knowledge. Ayurvedic medicine is incredible. The Chinese also. I had this vision, actually, that was kind of funny the other day. And it made me laugh. I was like, oh, Asia is like the grandparents. India is like the great-grandparents. And then Europe is the parents. And then America is the teenagers. And then the Arabs are like the kids. And I was like, wow, that's what it is.
It does feel like that.
And the South Americans are kind of like the uncles, being like, ugh.
Fun uncles.
They're either the fun or they're just working and busy and just like, oh yeah, you guys deal with your crap.
Fascinating.
And I was thinking, well, it's kind of funny, these cultural paradigms are so— I mean, some of the Asians are just like, they think of America and they're like, whatever. You guys are so far away from what we already know. We're not even going to try to prove it. Europe is still like, America, you need to raise— it's like actively parenting America. America is the rebellious teenager saying, fuck you, to everybody. We know what we're doing. Yet it doesn't. And it's stuck in the materialism, just like we were as teenagers. Our look, our clothes, our coolness, because we wanted to just explore the physical body as much as possible. And that is what being a teenager is. You're falling in love. You're exploring your new body as an adult that's got all these feelings. But when you're 35, 40, and you've had kids and this and that, you're like such on a different level of understanding, right?
You got it. Ready to throw it in. Ready for the wisdom.
And when you're a kid, you're actually closer to Source to a certain degree. You're just like, abundance, everything's abundance. Who cares? Like, we're just playing.
Let's play. Everything's abundance. Yeah.
And I think like some of the Arab countries right now are that way. It's just like, whatever, let's play. Let's just have fun. Let's just do whatever. And then yet the kid is still looking at the teenager being like, oh, wow, they're so cool. And so they go over there and they're like, wait, this is crazy. You guys are what? And then the insecurities show up and all the other stuff, because the teenager's like, yo, kid, get out of here. Meanwhile, the parents are trying to teach both of them.
Yeah.
And then the grandparents are like, whatever. We don't care. We're on another level. And I think that's the same thing. Like, in India, there's so so much knowledge, there's so much wisdom, there's so much chaos as well. There's so much disparity of, you know, riches to poor. There's a lot of expectations that are so ingrained because of that understanding and knowledge that it's, it's quite interesting. And there is a lot of matriarchy versus patriarchy, but the matriarch over there has got a role.
Yeah.
And it's very, very ingrained. And I think a lot of people don't know Everything would collapse. Yeah.
Right?
Yeah.
Yeah. You know, thinking about all these different places, when we think about, well, first of all, I guess, ask yourself, what are you craving? Or what part of you is craving parts of what you just described? I'm searching for wisdom right now. I'm craving wisdom and also fun and color. We talked about that. But I think that there's also, in each stage, we recognize We can all say that when we look back at our journey, it had to happen the way that it did because we evolved or we learned. And something that you had mentioned with Dr. Guy is the wound, how the wound is actually part of our greatest healing. And I say this with so much empathy because I think for some listeners, they might be going through something deep. And for me to just say, oh, it's such a gift to go through 2 heart surgeries, what a gift. But there is a gift in some way in the end, if you're open to understanding. Why it presented itself in your life. Can you talk to us a little bit how the wound is the medicine?
I'm just laughing because my wife, of course, when she was going through something and I was telling her, oh, you're learning this and this, and she's like, yeah, okay, can you give me the thing that solves the issue right now? And that's not the consciousness piece. So for the ones that are going through their suffering, Which it is the soul trying to understand the body, and the body is trying to understand the soul, when you're in the deep wound and the hurt of it. Obviously, when the scar is nice and safe, and everything's gone, and you've learned why you went through that, that's for sure. It's a whole process. That is why the wound showed up in the first place. It's the beginning of the suffering. That makes you become aware of a behavioral pattern that needs to shift, right? There is always a reason you bump into something and hurt yourself. And okay, like, why? You know, especially if it's in your house, and you've done the same, whatever, staircase over and over and over so many times, and all of a sudden, why do you trip and fall on your face like that one time?
Hmm.
What were you thinking in that moment? What were you not being aware of? What did you learn? What was the conversation you just had? You know, whatever it is, you'll learn from it. There's a 3-step process that I teach, which actually is linked to the body, where we have like 3, you know, aspects, like the wrist, the elbow, the shoulder. We have the same thing, the ankle, the knee, the hip. Or we have the legs, the torso, and the head. There's always these 3 things, and then the masculine and the feminine. And you have the implication, which is the moment when life is giving you a lesson. That's the implication. You get hit, you get cut, you get the news from the doctor, you get the symptom that shows up, and you don't know why. That's the first part of the lesson. It's you get hit in the face, you know, and I'm going to use that. And you wonder what is going on, but you're in suffering, and you go through this whole process of, I need to figure out how to protect it, what's happening. There's a shock, there's a reflection, there's a little peace, all the way up to needing to talk about it.
Right?
And that's really important to talk about it in the community.
Yeah.
Oh, this guy hit me at the bar. It was crazy. Then I protected myself. And then, like, he kept coming at me and, like, oh my God, like, I tried to run away, but it didn't work. He caught me, and then his friends showed up. And then finally, I hit him back, and then I was able to escape and run. And that's why I'm calling you. I'm still like, my nervous system is crazy. That's all the first part, the implication. Then there's the second part, which is the acceptation. That's usually when you come down and you go, wait, what happened? Like, why did the guy, like, hit me? Oh, because I was, like, staring at his wife and, like, trying to hit on her and buying her a drink. It's like, okay, I get it. There's something there that I needed to learn, or whatever it was, right? I made fun of him, or I said some insult. Like, that's the acceptance that the event actually is there to teach you something. So, that's usually the second joint. And then the third joint is the fear that becomes integrated so that that never will happen again, because you learned the lesson. And that's the integration piece. So, implication, acceptance, integration is the process of how life brings us these experiences, tons of them, to learn. learn and to grow. And the integration is losing fear that it will happen because you understood the lesson.
Yeah.
Versus acceptance is also rallying all the people that actually have had the same wound and being able to teach them why it's a lesson. So you understand what the lesson is. It's accepting the lesson versus the implication is very complicated because you never know when it's going to happen. Like, when is the next time you get hit in the face, you know?
Yeah. Right.
Or get cut, or get bit by a dog, or whatever it is, the accident, the moment that life is interacting with you in that shock to bring you into a lesson. And I think you can make that shock be less traumatic when you know your purpose, when you know your subconscious, when you know your mechanics, and your Human Design, for example, or your Your life cycles, your transits, and you know yourself.
Yeah.
And if, if you're in better alignment, you're probably not going to do something stupid where life has to like bang you to be like, what are you doing?
It brings so much freedom. And, you know, it's the difference between, you know, oh, I keep getting sick, I keep getting sick, I'm always getting sick. You identify as somebody who's sick, right? It's inevitable that you're going to get sick. That's a belief. Versus, huh, I'm getting sick right now. I feel really tired. I wonder what this means. What am I ignoring? Where am I not feeling like my needs are met? What is my body actually asking for in this moment? And then done. You move on. You process. I think that it's that caliber of intuition and wisdom that all of our bodies have, but we were never taught to calibrate that way.
100%.
And even sitting here talking about it, I've got the awareness, but I'm not fully in practice of it all the time. Teachers show up, and I get the reflection back to, oh, yeah, Yeah, you just forgot again. Come back to it. I think that that's what it's all about.
Yes.
Have you seen disease disappear?
Like, incredibly fast. Like, in a moment, where it's almost like, wait, what? No, that happened? And I was lucky to see— I mean, I had this woman who came in with a 4th-stage cancer, lung cancer, and it disappeared in 3 weeks, full, the whole thing. But she did a work where she basically needed to release the fact that her husband had cheated on her and was really in love with this other woman. But I had to tell her, you're going to die, and then he's gonna be with his lover. So why are you sick to keep him versus let him go? And she was like, you're a horrible person.
Yeah. That's hard to take.
And I was like, well, I'm just giving you the information I'm getting. I'm not trying to hurt you. And actually, she didn't pay me. She ran away and told me I was horrible. And then she came back a week later and was like, I don't know how to do it. And I was like, wow, that's different. We can work through that. And she's like, but you're right. I've been for 4 years holding him hostage by my disease, keeping him to take care of me. But you're right, I don't want to die. And I'm like, well, the good news on top of it is you can probably fall in love too with somebody else. And then that really motivated her. And so, she did the work. Of course, the husband came in and was like, what? I'm not going to my lover. And she was like, yes, you are. You're getting kicked out now. So, instead of the sadness, all of a sudden, there was an excitement to separate, because she realized it was done, and that life was asking her to let go. But that wasn't the way of thinking about it.
Yeah.
So, in 3 weeks, no more cancer, nothing. Up to the point where the oncologist—
Cancer oncologist, yeah.
—came to me and said, what did you do? You must have given her something that was magical, right? And I was like, no, it's all mind and emotions. She had to process the emotion of release, and that the love story was done. They had 4 or 5 kids. I mean, it was pretty involved. She had to write letters to everyone to really make them understand that she's letting go, and that it's one of the last things that she needed to do anyways before dying, if that was the case. And so, this was really like her wish is for him to go to the love, and that she actually honors this new woman that fell in love with such an incredible man that she was able to have 4 kids with, and share 50 years with. And it was so touching. Like, it was really beautiful.
Very beautiful.
And she did the work, and the cancer was gone, like gone. And I was like, wow, I've seen also like certain allergies or things that are really bothersome. And it's like allergies are funny, because they're really mental. And it's like this loop of victimization.
It's a wiring.
And when you nail it, it's just gone. It's like your stuffed nose, and it's like, and then all of a sudden, it's gone. If you really nail the pattern, the mental pattern, or the emotional disruption. And it's usually like a belief system that's popping And that you don't want to let go of.
Wow. This is the first year that I've had allergies.
That's interesting.
That's evolution and the work that I've been doing. I digress. So I ask you about this because for me, my dad and my dad's family, you know, these Indians in Toronto, were part of bringing in these gurus and swamis, and we would all meet in basements and we'd hear about these stories. of diseases disappearing. People who couldn't walk all of a sudden could walk. People who were blind who could all of a sudden see. And so it's part of my belief system, which I'm sure my mom didn't have. And now we have these big practitioners like Dispenza and stuff like that bringing it to light, and they're trying to—
Bring it up.
Put their label on it and their name on it without acknowledging all of this wisdom that comes behind it. And I always ask myself, why isn't Why isn't this making front page news? This should be front page news, but we know because of this system, it could never be. It would probably cause chaos for people who just weren't ready to receive it. And yet here you are, and there's so many other people out doing types of work. And I feel like right now it's being microdosed into society. One of the books that I have a lot of my clients read is The Body Keeps Score.
Hmm.
To really understand. That within your body, you're holding on to so much.
Mm-hmm.
And when I got into NLP, which is neurolinguistic programming, we do something called timeline therapy. And it's really beautiful when I can get, you know, a really tough man who, like, proud and CEO, provider, never cried, and really, really strong, when they can finally have a release going back to a time in their life when they just needed the feeling of love or you know, a mother or father or protection. And that gives them so much freedom. And all of a sudden, it's not about the six-pack anymore or the number on the scale. They just feel a little bit more balanced. And I really believe that if we can all feel a little bit more of that peace or love, then we make better decisions for ourselves.
100%.
So how do you see this modern world of distraction when we know the body's keeping score of all of this? And yet we keep going back into the environment that's causing all of it every single day. Do you work with people one by one in understanding how we process this? Is it different for everyone? Do we all need to come and work with you?
Not possible.
Not possible. Only one person.
Yeah, I mean, that's why I'm trying to— with One System, there's other systems. Teaching Energy Hygiene is another one. That actually we're developing with Dr. Citrin. And especially for other healers, because I think as healers as well, we're not taught how to deal with energy. But the energy hygiene piece, I think, is really key for both practitioners as well as individuals.
Yeah.
And I wish that was taught in school, because kids can do this so easily. And once you learn it, it's so natural. For us to do that. It's like breath. Like, we breathe every day, but we don't get taught breathwork. And there's so many different types of breathwork that actually bring us into incredible states of groundedness or exaltation. And we can teach that. So, I think everybody is individually coded and has individual issues. That's for sure. I think the Sphinx Code helps you to get that map of your own individuality. Human Design shows you your your own mechanics. That's great. And I think astrology kind of gives you like the global transits that are going on, especially actually Indian astrology, which is great. I mean, Chinese have the I Ching and they have their priests doing everything and they get married on the auspicious day as well. I mean, it's like, it's a whole thing. And I think we're going as a society to get deeper into understanding that and using these Afterwards, I think there's a lot of healers, and then it's a frequency thing. So I'm gonna have the clients I have because of my frequency, and I attract certain ones. And then others will have theirs, you know. And hopefully I can teach a lot of other healers certain methods. This is, I think, when you really go deep into the Sphinx Code, it is for practitioners to a certain degree.
Interesting.
I'm trying to make it available for everyone, but it is I mean, getting 97 pages of your information, like talking about the short span, we want the bite-sized info. And TikTok is not going to give you your whole life story in 30-second scroll. You're going to have to take the time and go over and over and over and come back to it and say, wait a minute, I'm dealing with this issue in my career. What was my career path? And what were my 4 archetypes? Because it's 4 archetypes. Not just one. So, you have to read a bit, and you see your limiting beliefs, and then how do you work that? And there's meditations on it. There's a whole process. I mean, I think we're also, in our society, so obsessed with the destination.
Oh, yeah.
And the result. And sometimes the disease is incredible at teaching us the journey.
Oh, for sure.
And the healing journey is where we get wisdom.
It's always wild because the first question I always get is, tell me the protocol, tell me what to eat, what's the supplements that I should take, how do I work out? And, um, I'm sure there's been many people who haven't been satisfied because they expected a result really, really quickly without doing the work. Yeah, right, exactly. And what I've noticed for the people who have a little bit more longevity with me, it's almost like there's so much clearing that happens We're so focused on the word detoxification, but I feel like detoxification should be called purification. There's a purification of the cellular body, the physical body, which is the nutritionist. Then there's the purification of the intellectual body, which is everything that I learned at the ashram through meditation and breathwork. Then there's the purification of the emotional body.
Yeah.
Everything that we're holding onto whenever we feel emotion around the traumas. Then there's the purification of the spiritual body and really Where is it clouded? Where is my spiritual body? How do I connect with my spiritual body every day? This is why I say healing, if you're really ready for healing and you really want the body that's alignment, in alignment without disease, it's a process of purification and coming home into yourself. And you used a really powerful word with Dr. Guy, which is love. Like, it's really all about an act of love.
Mm-hmm.
Can you love yourself so much that you'll eat to love yourself? Can you love yourself so much that you'll think beautiful thoughts and drink things that are going to support you, right? It's really all acts of self-love.
That's 100%. I actually think, and I've seen this, and I used to do that, which is put water and charge it with absolute love and healing energy, and then give that to people to drink. And I'd make it like, God, this is this incredible bottle of just like put so much magic into it. And you just put a little bit, then add other water, mix it, bless it, think about it, and then drink it thinking what you're going to heal. And it would heal.
Right.
Because that's the power of love. I mean, I was saying, like, you know, the love of power is always going to get you nowhere and into disease usually, versus the power of love is really the ultimate energy. And I've seen somebody who actually really believed that. And I think it's something that unlocked my path of no longer needing healing to a certain degree. I mean, there's always little moments where, you know, it's like hiccups.
Yes.
Because they're little slaps of reminders. And that happened. But this guy really believed, like, okay, it's going to be love, and love is the key. So how do I love? And he was super judgmental. He hated And he decided to walk in Colorado on the highway during the morning rush hour, where there's so many different people. And morning and night, I mean, mornings, every morning, winter, blah, blah, blah. And he would try to connect to every single person and say, I love you.
Wow.
I love you. I love you. And of course, most people would roll up their windows, lock their thing. They were like, who's this bum trying to ask us for money? And he He was literally trying to work for himself, trying to be like, I love these people. I'm not judging them. And for the first 6 months, it was just fake. Like, he was trying to love them, but he was like, I don't. Like, I hate the person that just, like, locked the door and they're scared.
They're afraid of the dark.
Like, why are you scared? And eventually, through that practice, he actually was able to love all of them. And he was like, wow, I'm starting to really love humanity. All of them. Like, even the guy who's like scared of me, I love him. I see him. I recognize him in me. I was that scared guy too. I was her. I was this. I was that. And he got to a state where he literally— everything healed in him by that practice, up to the point where I even saw like Wim Hof kind of stuff. Like, he had this fungus that grew on him. And I was like, wow, like, there's this massive rash. Like, what are you doing with that? And it spontaneously came up. And he's like, like, oh, I love them. They're just going to be temporarily there, and I'm going to tell them to just go away by the end of the night. And then the next day, like, nothing. And I was like, you didn't take anything? He's like, no, I love them enough to incorporate them and then say bye. And I was like, wow, okay, that's on another level.
Yeah, it is another level. But I don't think it's really hard to find stories like these that exist, that are the real deal. I think that we just need to surround ourselves with more of those stories so that it becomes more a part of our belief system. Yes. Because it does sound woo-woo, right?
It does, but it's real.
It's real. 10 years ago, I used the word vibration and people would roll their eyes all the time. Now everyone's talking about vibration and frequency and it's part of normal conversation, which I absolutely love. But I think there's such a big part of that to it, right? And I think it just uncovers, um, how complex and diverse we are. Right? I really just hope we break up with this protocol mindset.
That's true.
And just really accept.
Well, I think there's also a lot of lack of education in things. And we overuse words. I mean, even love, what does it mean? Or I hear tantra, or you brought up shamans. Everybody's a shaman now. Oh, that shaman this, that. And I was like, what are you talking about? The tree's not a shaman. Tree's a tree. Like a tantra. Like, I keep telling people, like, look, tantra, which actually comes from India, is a very specific path with incredibly deep vows. It's 7 years of training, and at the end, you're gonna die.
Yeah.
It's— you're gonna be thrown in a cobra pit, or you're gonna get poisoned.
Yeah.
And that vow, when you take the vow, the teacher knows which one. And when you get thrown in a cobra pit, you better remember all your teachings, because you're gonna get Yeah, it'll be done. And then you have 7 days of coma, and then you revive yourself. That's being Tantra. Tantric massage? Like, what?
That's all people know.
What are you talking about? Or tantric yoni, blah, blah. Like, it's like, did they die? I'd like to know. And they're like, what do you mean? Like, I don't know. Yeah, I'm like, these guys aren't tantric. They're giving a yoni massage. Okay, fine. Or a sexual massage, like, or there's a sexual liberation Same thing with a shaman. A shaman usually is picked by nature, usually has some weird, like, getting hit by lightning or death. Traditionally, there is a dying, and it's not an ego death with, like, ayahuasca. It's a real death. And then the community, the tribe used to be like, oh, he is shaman. And in a sense, it's like there is a weird psychosis by that death or by that thing where you're brought into a spirit, or you get really out of your body. Through this massive shock or sometimes an accident, or you go into a terminal disease, and then you heal yourself from it. Those are like the shamanic paths, you know. Okay, I think there is authentically more shamans awakening because the shamanic method was awakened more. And I think in our society, instead of having psychosis, we are accepting of people being more or shamans, let's say. But these people that go to the jungle and, you know, take ayahuasca for a year or two and then they're shamans, it's like, no.
Yeah.
You know, you weren't really picked. And like, I, I wonder if even ayahuasca did pick you. And there are even like codes to that. Like, what did the ayahuasca do? And if she just told you, like, it's not the code. Like, she has to obviously do specific things that I'm not going to say, because then after that everybody's going to be like, oh, I know the code.
Yeah.
But so, unfortunately, you know, it's the same thing for you. You had something that made you go into healing, which then brought you naturally into helping others. But it's because you authentically resonated that field. And then people came to you. You probably weren't like, oh, let me be a healer. It just showed up.
Not at all.
Because you had that life. circumstance that made you have to heal. And that's authentic. And I think a lot of people are searching their purpose, and yet, they're not authentically listening to their life. And each of our life stories is incredible. You don't have to go through this trauma. You don't have to be Superman or shaman or whatever it is. Like, be authentic.
Yeah.
Like, I just went to this guy, he was an Olympic gold medalist by 18. And he, in a way, succeeded. And then he realized that he was successful because he had this state of mind that was quite blissful. And he was able to, through breathwork, because he does breathwork through the water, was able to bring people into that state of mind. And that's basically what he ends up doing. And he's super happy, and he loves it, you know, like bringing people into the And I don't know if there's a name for that, you know? Yeah. And actually, so he doesn't call it anything. You just go see Peter. What do you mean?
He doesn't want to be famous and sell that as a— we're in the epicenter of spiritual bypassing. Yes. And I feel like plant medicine too right now, right? Like, so many people ask me, you know, should I go do ayahuasca? And I'm like, I don't know where you call Was there a special shaman that you met that came into your path?
Yeah.
And I think a lot of people are just going back in and back in and back in. And I recently, I don't know where I read it or saw that people who live in parts of those forests or in the Amazon, they won't even do the medicine because of the awareness of how powerful it is and what entities and spirits and guidance you're actually given. Like, are we even at that level? Growing up, my dad was even against, this is probably very masculine too, but And, you know, this concept of you shouldn't practice Kundalini yoga, because in this lifetime, are we yet powerful enough to really accept or awaken Kundalini, right? That is a very masculine approach.
But that goes back to some of the respect to these traditions that happened before. Yeah, because I actually had somebody who was like, oh, there's this new, like, Kundalini awakening method that this guy in Spain is doing, like, and you just come and he just, like, awakens the entire room. And I was like, what? That sounds insane. What do you mean? Like, are people ready? Can they like handle that? Like, what does he do for prep work? And he's like, nothing, you just show up and then he's just popping you open. I was like, oh my God.
And then you're done. And there's no integration afterwards, right? Which is wild.
So actually, this woman called me and she was like, I'm crazy because my Kundalini awakened and I don't know how to turn it off. Do you know how to turn it off? And I was like, oh my God. So, what are the symptoms? And she's like, my head feels like it's blowing up all the time. It's sparkly and crazy. And I'm completely out of my body all the time. I don't know how to, like, walk. I get into accidents. And this is like, I need help. She's literally crying. She's taking pills. The pills don't work because, like, her Kundalini was blasted open.
Yeah, I believe that.
And I was like, well, you need grounding. I mean, it's like, you basically have too much electricity and you need grounding. And like, What do you do? I mean, it's like she needs to come and live with me and do sweat lodges almost every day. And I was like, I can't do that for you.
Yeah.
And then I tried to get her, because on top of it, she's far away in Switzerland. And so, I was like, God, that's so irresponsible. And on top of it, the support system, because I was like, I shouldn't be the person that's dealing with that. It's the person that opened you up that should be.
Yeah. And here you are with respect to the teachers that were part of your lineage, and you do things a certain way to respect that.
Exactly.
Yeah. Yeah.
I mean, plant medicine is the same way. I didn't do— like, first of all, I didn't want the plant medicine to teach me about spirituality. I had to have the energetics and the reality to not be through the influence of plants or drugs or anything. Yeah. And that's my scientific mind that was like, I need Yeah. And then once that happened, and it was so secure, then one of my teachers was like, you know, you should try ayahuasca. And I was like, why? And he's like, just because you already know it. And therefore, you can then interact with this energy and this entity. And you will probably be much more in tune with that interaction, because you already have all the clairvoyance. So, you don't need her, but you can interact. And I was like, okay, that sounds interesting. And then he's like, and on top of it, there's this amazing teacher that's coming. She's a woman, and she's been there since she was 16, and she was singing these old songs. And it's that that called me. I was like, ah, she's singing authentic songs that never exist, or she's reawakening.
Yeah.
That's something that I'm trying to find within my heritage, these old Basque songs that kind of disappeared. Okay, I'll go meet her, the teacher, actually, more so than the ayahuasca. And then she introduced me to ayahuasca, and I was like, okay, wow, that's amazing technology in a sense.
I wish I had that insight. I kind of just ended up doing ayahuasca, and I had this beautiful trip. But if I knew how to kind of work with the energy while I was in it, I think it would have been a very different experience altogether.
The Buddhists do that. I mean, there is psychedelics in Buddhism, but basically you need training first to be almost psychic before you go into the psychedelic state so that you know and you have that awareness of how to maneuver and not get caught up by the entities or the beauty or the ego that's basically clearing.
I became the chakras in the sky.
Exactly. There you go.
But there was an entity that showed up. It was a woman. And I didn't know how to interact with her. I digress again. Tell us about a vision quest.
Vision quests. These are my favorite. I've spent so much time.
And I will, like, full confession, whenever I hear about, like, mauna retreats or silent meditation retreats, I always think to myself, I love time to myself so much, I would be fine. Like, it would just be a waste of time for me. This is my ego getting in the way of what I need to do.
That's actually really funny.
It is. Yeah. So vision quest, I'm experiencing this quest from you coming in a different way. So what does that entail?
The way that it was taught to me was the Lakota way, which is really difficult and very harsh and very warrior-like. And then I was brought into another way, which is the way of nature, by John Milton, who's still in Colorado. And, uh, he brought in much more the feminine way, which I think is more the Buddhist way. The real essence of a vision quest is to commune with nature on such profound level that you reconnect to your own inner nature through the outer nature. And the outer nature brings you back into that source connection with yourself, your source. So, your pure resonance with your body, which is the Earth, and soul, which is source.
Okay.
By shedding away all distractions, and basically being left with yourself and nature Alone, which of course scares us to be alone in the wild, where anything can happen, right? So, the Lakota way is to prepare for a year. And then you basically go up there with nothing, a blanket, and your prayers. And, you know, you're not supposed to sleep, drink, eat, nothing for 4 days, 4 nights. And then you have— spiritual awakenings that happen. And it's pretty intense. And you do, there is things that happen. It's magic. But that's really hardcore.
That's very hardcore.
That's really hardcore. So, when Jon taught me, because after that, I was like, I'm never doing that ever again. It's just like, I'm done that. Thank God. Like, never. And he's like, oh, you should do a couple years of vision quests. I was like, you are nuts. No way. And yet I wanted to learn his method of connecting to the stones, which, like, basically, he had these stone meditation seats where you sit and you put your hands and your feet in certain seats, and you get this whole meditation and, like, this vision. And I was like, what is going on? This is incredible. He said, look, like, come into meditation through nature in a gentle way. And we'll call it not vision quest, because you have the Lakota training. We'll call it nature immersion. And I was like, okay, that's nicer.
Feels better.
You can have a tent, You can have a pillow, you can have water, you can even eat. And I was like, wow, yeah, that's definitely not a vision quest. That sounds like a nice vacation.
It does, yeah.
And camping. But then he's like, no, I mean, it's not camping. I mean, it sounds like camping, but it's not. You go with the intention of going deeper in communion, and you do restrict yourself to a certain degree, and try not to move everywhere. And you're not hiking to go to a destination. You're staying for reflection, and there are certain practices that he taught. That is, how do you go deeper into that? In a way, vipassana, but without anybody there, without any building structures, and with nature's reflection continuously playing and interacting with your different states. And I brought in the fasting, at least water fasting, or just one fruit. So, you're mono-dieting, which most people take an apple because they're like, oh, I'm gonna need something. And then by the second day, they're like, I don't need food. Because there's a process. So, I think 5 days is kind of the minimum. The first 2 days, your mind and your ego are definitely very active, and they're trying to get you off the mountain because they know they're gonna basically tire and die as you go into The different keto phase of your being, which is how your cells start replenishing. And I mean, it's like amazing benefits. It's like going to a spa and like you start beaming afterwards. But on the 3rd day, your ego kind of dies, your mind settles, and you start feeling at home in your weird environment that you're in, in nature by yourself. And you start understanding the animals. The cycles, the trees, like how all these interactions start happening. And you start building this intimate relationship with nature, which builds something inside of you, like a deeper communion, a connection, an intimacy. And by the 5th day, you're having full visions of yourself, of your purpose, of why you're here, of understanding different patterns. You understand what you really don't need in your life, compared to the things that you love in your life, like from family to a shower, which is like the best invention ever. And you're like, piping is amazing. Like, I'm gonna love everybody that created that, you know? Versus stuff that you're like, I don't really— why do I even have it? It's a bother. And then you sell it, you know? Yeah, it brings you into a deep communion with your essence. essence and what you really love and what you really are here for. But deeper than that, there's a safety and a trust that happens on such a deep level. It's a cellular level. You trust Earth, you trust life, and you trust yourself. I mean, if you're lying to yourself when you're alone in nature for 5 or 6 days, there's something really off with you.
Right.
And so, when you can't lie to yourself, You get really honest. And you have that much time to think about your life and yourself and where you screwed up, where you lied, where you weren't correct, where you were wrong with that friend. And you write that, I'm sorry, because you actually feel it inside you, versus like, wow, he really betrayed me. I really— I don't need to talk to people like that. Or, I can forgive him or forgive her, or whatever it is. Yeah.
And did John give you prompts, or do you give people prompts to sit with over the few days? And I'm guessing this is zero plant medicine at all.
So I started adding the plants afterwards. So, like, at first, you don't— there's no plants. There's 3 days of teachings, basically, the way that I do it and designed it. I do 3 days of teachings where I give you your Sphinx Code, your Human Design. I go through the way of nature and how that nature has a way of of speaking to you, and you need to kind of know that, like totems, how totems and animals come, etc.
Mm-hmm.
Um, I teach you about the process. I go deeper into your emotional stuff, like kind of Hoffman, beat your parents out, get your emotions out. We go into the river, we do like connecting with spirit of the mountain, of river, of the elements, how you get into communion basically, and how do you enter into respect. We do a sweat lodge. And then there's the 5, 7, 9 days, whichever you choose, up to 44 days. That's what I've done. But I haven't seen anybody do that yet.
No, it's shocking.
One apprentice did. Yeah, she did it. And you got to build to that. You don't just start with 44 days. There's no way. But so 5 days, let's say. And then on the 5th day, you come back as a group. And then there, I usually give the option, because you're really prepped for it, to do ayahuasca, and then the next day we do San Pedro, but it's optional. And that's where the ayahuasca or the medicine basically doesn't need to cleanse you at that point. And you're actually pretty psychic already to a certain degree, or at least you've opened up a lot of your energy field to interact with the plant in a very beautiful way. And it kind of brings a cherry on the top of what you've already done. But you don't even need it. Like, you really— like, there's people that say, no, I don't need it. I'm like, wow. And it transforms you.
What comes up is like, oh my gosh, that sounds so scary. But also part of me is like a little kid. That sounds really fun, like really fun and exciting to do. And I've experienced at the ashram, after we're giving our spiritual names, You're chanting for so long that when you go back out into nature, it's almost like being on plant medicine. I could see, like, the acuity of the leaves on trees that were in the distance. I couldn't feel my feet on the ground. And with that, it sounds so crazy for me to even say to somebody who's never experienced that, but once you do, you just start to imagine, what else is within me that I can unlock?
Completely.
What else wasn't I taught how to do that's already in my power to get there, right? And I think that is really what the future of healing needs to be like. And I've talked about this concept of inter— like integrative healthcare for so long. And I feel like ancient wisdom, and even shamans to some extent, like if they were in villages communing with other people, there were people responsible for different aspects of a healing journey, but a community just came together.
Yes.
We no longer have that anymore. It's something that we're all seeking.
Yes. I think it's really— hopefully, that's what happens in the future, where we are somehow pushed back into smaller communities, smaller tribes. And that somehow happens where we did get the support. I think, like, with women, for example, and childbearing and raising, it takes a village to raise a child, right? I mean, that's a real thing. And now today, women and/or couple is left with raising 2 children, 3 children alone. It's really, really complicated. We need breaks because it's a constant 100% present job. And so, for our healing journey internally, as well as for raising children and continuing humanity, I think we do need to try And it's nice to have Zoom and have community thousands of miles away, but it's not really practical on a daily basis where you can be like, I need to go this, can I drop off my kid here? And like, of course. And he can play and he'd be safe and it's fine. And he's still hanging out with the same tree.
Mm-hmm.
Because our communities would be smaller. And I think that is a big suffering. of our society. Talk about disconnect and isolation. Yeah. And that's a, that's a big, big problem.
Even humanity, right? It's one thing I always say, if anyone ever has an experience to go live somewhere in community, I'm sure even going on retreats, right? You have 5, 7, 10 days with a group of people. They become like family. They do. You're so in tune with them and their life and their challenges and their growth and their evolution. And that one point that they often feel like you're closer to them than you are to your Right? It's so true, which builds compassion. Okay, so for somebody listening who is really intrigued by understanding this, can you maybe help them understand through the lens of identifying your patterns and how that could be the gateway into coming into this world?
So understanding patterns, and you mean through Sphinx Code's lens or even just through just Or just contemplating your patterns that you're kind of stuck in?
Let's start with patterns that you're stuck with. I think we're all aware of them. Yeah, it takes a lot of courage to address them. It does. And to want to change. Yes. Or I think the obstacle is, well, I can't change. Life is hard. I've got this. I've got a job. I've got to make money. I can't change. When you actually can.
Yes. I just went through this actually in a ceremony with somebody who's really bright. And so she of course, can identify all her patterns and knows them. And it's still like, I'm stuck, I'm done, I can't change, I should die. And I was like, oh no. First of all, I think there is something about death which should be left to the Divine.
Mm-hmm.
And that's really a hard thing when you try to take your own. It's a defeat. And I think that is an issue. And it's a problem. And It needs to be addressed, because the people who are at that point really need support and help. But I think it's also about understanding the pattern. If you can understand your pattern, or at least if you start seeing a pattern, name it.
Mm-hmm.
So, first thing, put a name to it. And try to see, okay, where's the cause of that? Where did it start? And what is that pattern fulfilling in me? How is it helping me? Rather than, oh, this is hurting me, because I'm attracting the same person all the time. Well, okay, but where is it saving you? Or where is it helping you? And what's underneath that, that it's trying to hide? So that you can find that. Once you find that, there's a whole conscious piece that gets revealed. Like, if you're scared, scarcity, for example, and you're like, oh, I can't ever get rich, or I can't ever be be able to have the abundance that I need to go and fulfill my dreams. That's a big one for people, right? Well, how is that keeping you safe, that pattern? Because actually, maybe it's because you don't have the courage to follow what you really want, right?
Mhm.
And so then you keep telling yourself the story of, I don't have enough, which reinforces that you don't have enough, and therefore you're saying that to the universe, and therefore Exactly. The universe is giving it to you. Versus if you say, no, I actually have enough. I don't know how much I have. But I have enough courage to say, I am going to go after what I want. And I can create what I want. And I am divine enough to be able to fulfill my dream. That's actually your only purpose. And therefore, you will be supported by the universe, by life, by nature, to do it. So, okay, that scarcity mindset is actually covering my courage that I'm not doing, because I'm scared. So, it's actually keeping me in fear, the fear of going deeper into my soul's dream. So, where do I get the courage to actually pop and do it? And then you start wondering about that and be like, okay, well, wait, like, if I can create my life, and if I was to get rid of my fear, like, let's identify all the fears. Okay, I can't do it because I don't know where I want to go. Okay, well, let's find out where you want to go. Where's your dream that you want to go? Oh. Like you said, for example, Barcelona. Let's go to Barcelona. Okay, let's buy a plane ticket. Oh, I can't afford it. Oh, you're going back into that loop, right?
Right.
Okay, well, save for 3 months. Put a little bit aside. There's going to be a point when you can. Okay, now you actually have built some courage, and you now even have anticipation, and you have excitement, and you have purpose, which actually is going to start opening up a lot of different things. So, it's identifying that piece that is blocking you, saying, okay, what is that block actually hiding? Identifying that, and then tackling that, because we have the creative potential, all of us, to solve our problems. We do.
But life responds to action.
Yes. Yes. So, bitching about it, you know, when you're complaining, or blaming, you're in victim state. And then you're not in co-creativity with life. As soon as you say, okay, I'm not a victim. And I can solve this. I don't know how yet. Please help. And it's prayer.
Yeah.
You know, that is the first step to prayer. And then it's like you unveil, you go deeper and deeper. When did I get hurt? When did I stop having courage? When did I get scared? What is courage? it's being fearful. Okay, why? For what? When? And then you unpeel it. Oh, because my mom said this, or because my friend told me that I wasn't blah, blah, blah, like whatever it is. And you go, you know what, that's silly. Okay, maybe at 7 it wasn't. But now that you're like 30 or whatever, it's like, yeah, you can get over that. Let's bring back that kid and say, okay, I can solve this, and I can follow my dreams. And then your wise self is gonna be like, no, you have so many responsibilities, and you have all these things, and you have bills to pay and I don't know. Well, okay, can I rent all my stuff? Can I sell all my stuff? Actually, if I sell all my stuff, what's going to happen? Well, the kids won't go to school and then they're not right. And, and then it's the peeling of the onion. And actually, layers by layers, while you're saving, it might take you 6 months, and then you're gonna peel the layers and actually solve every single one of your own problems that you've actually created. And then you become—
that's freedom, It is freedom.
That is our freedom. We are free to create our way out of our own issues.
You brought that up with me as well, and he used the word trust, which I keep coming back to, because I know, just trust. Just trust the path. It will unfold. Toss the coin. See what comes up. Let it come from your heart. But I think that unless we proactively decide that we're done with being a certain way, Physically, mentally, emotionally, whatever it is, we can't move from that.
That's true. And maybe you're not ready. Like, maybe your body is not ready to move, you know?
Absolutely.
And so there's— there is a disconnect sometimes from the mind, the body, and the heart, where the body is like, hey, hey, I can't— like, I'm not ready to let go of that yet. And, and that is a way of communicating. It's like being honest with yourself when you communicate and be like, okay, like, I am scared.
Yeah.
Paralyzed, actually. And then you go, okay, well, I can deal with that now, at least. Like, why am I paralyzed?
So nourish your physical body first, so that the other parts can catch up. Yeah. Oh, that's beautiful.
And I think that's when you don't spiritually bypass. Spiritually bypassing is saying the body doesn't matter. Oh, we can overcome with everything with the mind. It's like, no, you can't. You're in the body for a reason. Our body is our temple. That body is the lesson. Our body is Our body is the genius.
Yeah. Our body has the intelligence.
It's got the code. It's got the divine code. It's holding your genes. That is your uniqueness.
I could talk to you all night. Probably the only person that I could speak to on a Sunday evening. Tell me something. Well, first of all, can anyone do the Sphinx Code?
Yes.
Can they go to your website? What's your website?
It's sphinxcode.com, S-P-H-I-N-X code.com. And then you can get it in the Google App Store or We'll link out to everything. Excuse me?
We're going to link out to everything.
We'll link it out.
For each.
And I should give you a code for all your listeners. That'd be really cool.
Yeah, that'd be very cool. I'm sure people are going to hop on.
So they can get every access. And then we're developing, so be patient. This is still in the beta version, and we're coming out like June. I think we'll have the dating version so you can see how you are compatible with other And then we're also coming out with a feature where you can do a lot more charts. So you can do your whole family or your friends and all that. Right now it's just your own chart, and we're focusing on that.
Let's close on this. One, I want to call out the fact that here you are as a spiritual teacher who's so deep in this work, and you summarize kind of like the epitome of what this podcast is about, merging ancient wisdom with modern-day medicine. And where I met you was at that integration with Dr. Guy Citrin at his longevity studio in Los Angeles. But we talked about the power of peptides and these things with modern medicine that are actually unlocking what spirit has done all along. But I think it's a different entryway.
Mm-hmm.
So people who may not have had the time or the energy or the access to do the spiritual work, It's now coming through a different lens of information to get them there. So can you maybe close with sharing what are you most excited about in the future with the lens of spirituality, but also the things that you're working on, how it's connected to modern medicine?
Yeah. Well, I've always been a tech guy. I love technology. And I do see this whole experience like a video game. And our body is one of the most advanced technologies, potentially. And so I feel like there's going to be such huge advancements in technological devices that help us analyze ourselves, understand ourselves, give us the data that gives us the opportunity to have courage to do things that are extraordinary and bring us deeper into wonder. And that requires us knowing ourselves. That go deeper into our courage, The humanness actually is never going to go away because we have technology and AI. And that's something that's really great. AI is going to replace a certain thing, but technology is never going to replace the human. The human is human, and it always will be. And that's an amazing fact, I think. We were talking actually with somebody where we were thinking, okay, we have the technology pretty much to Clone ourselves. And so, you have a full sleeve, I'm going to say it that way, your whole body could be redone. Organs, your gene code, everything. Your eyes, same hair, blah, blah, blah. You could even bring it to that state at 28 years old when I was perfect.
Right.
And we could probably very soon, if we can't already, I think we have already done this, is take our whole memory and consciousness and subconscious programming, coming and also copy that, and then re-upload that into this body. Does that mean that's you? And this amazing 21-year-old kid was like, no, there's God. And there's your divinity and your soul, and that we can't ever transplant because that's God's work. And I was like, yes, thank God.
Thank God.
And so, we'll get as close as we can to that. But hacking God is not our job, first of all. And I don't think we ever can. And that is where we are special and unique. Maybe we are hybrids of some alien creation and whatever, you know, and then we can get into some really crazy conspiracies that we haven't gotten into, that the shamanic world opens you up to. And my teachers, like, really definitely went wild. But even if we were a hybrid, and we didn't come from monkeys, and we were genetically spiced, we are somehow connected to this divine Yeah. And that can't be taken away. And that's the humanness that is unbelievable. And I hope that basically, the advancements of technologies allows us to stop being stupid in the monkey brain machine of money and this other stuff. And we can start evolving to much deeper relationship connections with each other, with nature, and with the Divine, so that our expression really gets to shine. So I'm really excited about that.
Beautiful. And I think it really just starts with us.
It does.
Right?
It does.
We're focused so much on seeking and doing, but it really just starts with us. And thank you for that reflection, because it's really ultimately the message that I want everyone to take home. It's just remembering what it is to be able to live this incredible life and all the cool stuff that's out there. It's so blissful. It's awesome. And like, I would say, going back to having children, yeah, the gift that comes from seeing life through their eyes to remind us like, oh yeah, stop drifting into the world of doing and shoulding and quitting and all of that to just being, having some more fun. It's a big part of healing. Fun is a big part of healing.
It is. Humor is one of the most powerful forces that goes with love.
Well, I'm so grateful to have met you. This is just the beginning. I'm excited to, to have you back again.
Me too. Thank you. It was a pleasure.
