In a casual video clip, Draymond Green shares that he ran into JJ Redick at a car wash, noting Redick’s dedication to studying film on a laptop. Baron Davis recounts the spontaneous encounter, describing Redick as a basketball‑savvy peer who talks like a coach and whose commitment inspires others. Draymond then reflects on the fundamental role of a coach, stating that a coach is either a confidence giver or a confidence taker. The exchange highlights the camaraderie among NBA players, the importance of continual study, and a succinct coaching philosophy.

"Just ran into @JJRedick at the car wash. He had the laptop watching film. Players coach. Lakers in great hands. #Dedication." What are you thinking when you run into JJ?
You know, hey bro, you know Draymond, we all in the same neighborhood. Our kids play at the park. And so I was going to get my car washed. I see JJ Redick, he run up on me. "What's up BD? What's up JJ?" I look over there, I'm like, damn bro, you over here, "Getting it in, huh? You working?" He like, "Man, I ain't playing around." He's one of those dudes, you can talk basketball all day. You know, it's like talking to one of your peers that's a coach and you like, "Man, I want you to win so bad 'cause you know what the fuck you talking about." He talking about all the other players.
One of the biggest roles for a coach is you're one of two things. You're either a confidence giver or you're a confidence taker.
