In this YouTube short, Draymond Green and Chris Paul reminisce about their past animosity toward former teammate JJ Redick. Paul recounts a college‑era feud with Redick, a pivotal moment when Doc Rivers offered him a chance to acquire Redick for the Warriors, and his immediate decision to pursue the trade because of shared competitive traits. Green interjects with a humorous anecdote about being asked by "Bob" (likely a teammate or coach) about his opinion on a player, replying that he prefers to see the opponent on the court. Throughout, both players emphasize how competitiveness defines them—both a strength and a flaw—and reflect on how that mindset influenced the Warriors’ roster move.

I used to always tell Bob, Bob would come ask me like, "What you think of this guy?" And I would simply say, "Bob, I like when he come on the court for the other team." Right.
I don't wanna play with him. Yeah. So in college, me and JJ couldn't stand each other. We got in a fight, got into it. And I never forget, I was standing in my closet in LA when Doc Rivers hit me and told me we had a chance to get JJ Redick. And when I say I ain't like JJ, I could not stand JJ. And as soon as Doc said it, I said, "Let's get him." Because I know guys that are competitors, we got a lot alike. Absolutely. You know what I'm saying? We alike in a lot of ways. And that's why, I mean, I'm sure we'll talk about it at some point. But when the trade happened for me to come to the Warriors and knowing our history, I knew, you know, that that would be a conversation. But I knew basketball-wise, he on the same type of energy I'm on. Definitely. You know what I mean? Definitely. And so like you said, I'm a believer in that, you know, some people will say my competitiveness is the best thing about me and the worst thing about me. But at the end of the day, it's who I am. Right. Right.
