In this short commentary, the speaker compares the Denver Broncos' 2011 decision to replace Tim Tebow with Peyton Manning—effectively ending Tebow's hype—to the Cleveland Browns' current dilemma with Baker Mayfield. Mayfield, after a playoff win, has split the fan base and is demanding a trade, keeping the franchise in the headlines. The speaker argues that the Browns can shift the narrative and improve their standing in a quarterback-driven league by acquiring a star quarterback like Deshaun Watson, despite his ongoing legal controversies and detractors. The core claim is that landing a high-profile QB can quiet existing disputes, elevate team performance, and redirect media focus away from past issues.

But the Browns are a better football team today because in a quarterback-driven league, they have a star quarterback.
