In this YouTube monologue, Draymond Green evaluates the Washington Wizards' recent acquisitions of Trae Young and Anthony Davis, emphasizing that both players are unlikely to contribute significantly this season due to Davis's projected 3–4‑week injury recovery. Green highlights the Wizards' own draft pick, noting potential prospects such as AJ DeBansa and Darren Peterson, and argues that the franchise must commit to Anthony Davis on a long‑term basis to retain him, especially given the team's historical difficulty attracting free agents. He suggests that the draft outcome could shift the team's trajectory and that the front office, bolstered by the arrival of Will Dawkins from Oklahoma City, has the capacity to reshape the roster for next season, turning a currently bottom‑ranked team into a competitive one.

The Wizards has acquired Trae Young and AD largely for next season. I can't foresee either one of those guys playing much at all. AD, if he's coming back from the injury that he sustained, he's probably still another 3 to 4 weeks away. You need to lose anyway. Washington own their own draft pick this year. That pick could turn into AJ DeBansa. That pick could turn into Darren Peterson. That pick can turn into a great young piece for your franchise. I think when I'm looking at this, A couple things are gonna have to happen. Washington's gonna have to commit to AD long-term. Like, if you wanna keep a player like Anthony Davis in Washington, who's struggled to get free agents, you're gonna have to commit to AD long-term. Depending on who Washington drafts, think the situation could change a bit for Draymond Green. This team could look completely different next year. You talking about a team that's at the bottom of the league right now, completely different in a good way. Like, the possibilities are endless, but that is the sign of a good front office when you give yourself endless possibilities. And that's what Will Dawkins has done coming over from OKC.
