In this brief YouTube monologue, Warriors forward Draymond Green attacks former Houston Rockets GM Daryl Morey’s claim that the NBA is unbalanced because the three‑point shot is overvalued. Green references Morey’s 2015‑2019 effort to assemble a roster specifically designed to defeat the Golden State Warriors, noting that Morey publicly boasted about this plan and ultimately failed. Green ridicules the analytical doctrine that teams should only shoot threes and layups while abandoning mid‑range jumpers, arguing that Morey’s theory has not only failed but also attempts to “rewrite the game” of basketball. He dismisses the approach as “garbage” and ends with a brief statement in Chinese.

Daryl Morey says the NBA is unbalanced and the 3-point shot is worth too much. If you remember back to 2016, '15, '16, '17, '18, '19, Daryl Morey was building a team to beat the Golden State Warriors, and he was very vocal about, we built this team to beat the Golden State Warriors. And when you fail and you were so vocal and so upfront about something you set out to do and you fail, it can be a bit embarrassing. So much so that one's theory that was to shoot threes and not mid-range— you shoot layups or threes, you do not shoot a mid-range jump shot— that one's theory now doesn't even want the 3-point shot to be the 3-point shot anymore. Like, can we stop trying to just completely rewrite the game of basketball because Daryl Morey came up with a theory that ultimately wasn't successful for him? I'm sorry. But miss me with this garbage. [SPEAKING CHINESE]
