In this short exchange, Anthony Edwards expresses frustration with players sitting out games, suggesting fans deserve to see them play. Draymond Green counters by emphasizing the importance of respecting fans while also acknowledging that each player's situation is unique. He draws on his 11-year NBA career and extensive playoff experience to argue that younger players like Edwards may have a different mindset, but decisions about sitting out should consider injury risk, medical data, and long‑term health. Green poses the question of whether a player should risk a known injury for a single game, potentially jeopardizing weeks or months of future play, highlighting the balance between fan expectations and player welfare.

My thoughts on Anthony Edwards' comments.
I don't like all the sitting, missing games and stuff. These people might have enough money to come to one game.
I think you'd be crazy to knock what he said because quite frankly, fans are a huge part of this game. You have to respect that side of it and understand it. Now in saying that, for me, it would be hard for Anthony Edwards to speak for me. I've been in this league 11 years. I've played a whole extra 2 seasons in playoff games. However, that should be his mindset. He's what, 21, 22 years old? And so that should be his mindset. But I think everyone's situation is different. And I pose the question back, if a guy is really at risk in a game with all the science and different things that are used now to make these decisions, if a guy is really at risk of injury, do you go out there and risk the injury and risk missing 2 weeks, 3 2 weeks? months, a year, due to injury, and you knew what the risk was and you could have avoided it.
