In a brief YouTube short, Draymond Green and former NBA point guard Rajon Rondo discuss Rondo's post‑playing career aspirations. Rondo declares a 100% desire to coach and also expresses interest in front‑office work, mentioning plans to intern and contact Danny Ainge. Green pushes back against the notion of Rondo taking an assistant‑coach position, insisting that Rondo’s basketball IQ merits a head‑coaching role immediately, citing JJ Redick as a precedent. Green emphasizes that Rondo should not be held back by perceived inexperience, framing his ambition as both a coaching and managerial goal.

Coaching is ultimately what you wanna do though?
1000%.
And I wanna mess with the front office too. Like I wanna do some internship. I'm gonna call Danny eventually.
And I would love to win it, you know, from both GM and a coach.
I look forward to the day you ready to make that jump. 'Cause don't give me the assistant coach stuff. Don't give me the, "Oh, Rondo don't have the experience. I don't know." Because what they do know is Rondo is one of the greatest basketball minds to grace the NBA. He's not looking for an assistant coach job. Press the button. He's looking for a head job. Because JJ's doing it. He's showing you that it's possible. Right. And we know how smart Rondo is. So I don't want to hear it.
That's all I need. I got the blueprint. Just gimme the pieces.
