In this YouTube short, Draymond Green reacts to Tim Legler's claim that the Boston Celtics' season would be a failure without winning an NBA championship. Green initially says he usually disagrees with such hot takes, but then concedes that Legler is correct because the Celtics have committed massive contracts to Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum—each exceeding $300 million. He notes the team’s recent roster upgrades, adding Jr Jrue Holiday and Kristaps Porziņģis, and argues that after building a 60‑plus‑win team, the Celtics must now convert those moves into a title. Green emphasizes that merely reaching the conference finals is no longer acceptable; the franchise must win the championship now, extending Holiday as proof of the team’s direction.

Tim Legler says the Celtics season will be a failure without a championship. I normally disagree with shit like that. It be like hot take-ish and like, ah, Tim Legler is absolutely correct on this one. Because you got Jaylen Brown making $300+ million, soon to be Jayson Tatum making $300+ million. It's a failure. Like you won 60+ games. You have built your team. You go out and get Jrue Holiday. You go out and get Porzingis. And the season went exactly how you thought and wanted it to go when you made those moves. Because the season went that way, you extend Jrue Holiday because he's proven all that he needs to prove that you want to continue forward with him. So guess what? It's time to win, and it's time now. Yeah, we don't care how many conference finals anymore. A finals appearance ain't good enough. You gotta go win it all.
