You've always known how to play the game the right way, but yet you've also had coaches that's like, "Here, Mal, go do your thing." Go do it, yeah. Right. It sounds like that's what I'm hearing you say. Like, I'm essentially training JJ to be the same thing where he can mix you, he got all the stuff, but yet he know how to play the game.
With JJ, right? And let's say he plays his grade and he's like, "Dad, I can get 40." I'm like, "Yeah, 40 is cool. I would rather have you get 28 and 12 assists." Yeah. The trick is this, all great scores, the more you pass, the easier it is to score.
Mm-hmm.
Right? 'Cause you put them in a trick bag. So if you have, even the game I lost him at 50, 71 points at 5 assists.
Yes.
Right? So I'm like, if, if Luka only had 5 assists that game, they may have been a 55-point game 'cause they know he's just gonna score. Yeah. But the fact he has 73 and now he has 14 assists, they don't know how to guard him. If I could have JJ look at one player, it would be Penny Hardaway, but a better shooter. 'Cause I want him to be able to really like to do this as well as score. He can actually pass and dribble as good as he can shoot. But you don't, you'll never know it until he kind of, his physicality catches up.
