Kai Cenat & Draymond Green FULL STREAM!

In this livestream, streamer Kai Cenat hosts NBA veteran Draymond Green for an informal, high‑energy conversation that blends banter, basketball talk, personal anecdotes, and deeper reflections. The stream opens with Kai commenting on Draymond’s physical presence and moves into Kai’s bragging about his NBA Celebrity Game stats. They negotiate a 1‑on‑1 challenge, then Draymond shares his philosophy about being misunderstood by the media, the 1% mindset, and why he prefers being hated over being ignored. He recounts the controversy over his flagrant foul points that were assessed after Game 5, explaining why he missed that crucial playoff game. The duo then provides a detailed play‑by‑play breakdown of the Warriors‑Cavaliers Game 7, highlighting Kevin Love’s unexpected defensive stop, shot‑clock management, and key possessions. Draymond narrates the story of Kevin Durant’s call to join the Warriors, the 2015‑16 salary‑cap jump from a new media deal, and his own pay‑cut to create cap space. They reflect on the Warriors’ “Avengers” era, the 73‑9 season, and the impact of losing a Finals. The conversation shifts to future championship prospects, with both agreeing the Lakers currently have better chemistry. Kai and Draymond discuss betting, gift exchanges, and a request for a signed Steph Curry jersey. Draymond delivers a motivational speech about embracing change, seeking growth by being the least knowledgeable person in the room, and not fearing change. He then talks about rereading "Rich Dad Poor Dad" to teach his son about financial discipline, sharing his parenting philosophy. Throughout, the tone remains conversational, reflective, playful, and occasionally inspirational, revealing both participants’ perspectives on basketball, competition, personal branding, and life lessons.
Chapters
Draymond Green! You look a lot bigger in person, boy. I seen you a couple times, but damn, your hand!
Did you think I was small?
No, I'm not gonna say I was thinking you was small, but I think you was—
How tall are you?
6'6". Hold on, stand next to me. Goddamn, Draymond Green!
Oh, them people probably on there going crazy.
They are, they are.
Absolutely.
They are.
Fuck him.
Yeah. Fuck, fuck him.
I hate him.
No, no, they not. Bring the guys in here too. The guys gonna want me— bring chat. Tap 4 rings. How you feeling, bro?
I feel amazing.
How you feeling, bro?
Amazing. Hey, this is my first time.
I know, on something like this, right? Anything like this. Does it look— is it— does it look confusing now you're on this side?
Yeah, I've been in there asking, uh, Bri—
Yeah, yeah, yep, yep.
A bunch of questions.
Yeah, I feel like—
what, like spam 3, spam 3? What is—
so when I say— when I talk to spam a certain number is basically to tell them like, um, to see if the, uh, the delay is good or not. So when I say spam 2, like, to see how fast they can reply to my voice, to see how, how little the delay is. So I say bam 2, I count 1, 2, and it'll be a 2-second delay or whatever. And it's like that. It's mad, it's mad confusing.
How much of a delay do you want, or none at all?
I really want like 2, 3 seconds.
Okay, good.
2, 3 seconds good. No delay is kind of crazy, but like, um, but the more delay you add, the the less likely it is to like have internet issues or like, like technical issues. You feel what I'm saying?
Okay.
Now you see what I'm saying? Now listen, I ain't gonna lie, Draymond, you are very good at basketball. I am too, you know, that's my primary sport. I'm really, really good at basketball and I really know how to play the sport and the game and I understand it. And, um, and yeah, bro, I kind of want to kind of— I kind of wanted to get like some advice on my skills and on the court and just knowing how to like stay committed and work on better things in my craft.
You played in the Celebrity Game, right?
Yes, yes.
Did you win MVP?
No.
No?
No.
Who won MVP?
Some wack person. Michael Parsons.
Michael Parsons won?
He's a bull hog. He does not pass the ball, bro.
I can see that.
I'm the— bro, every time I go to the Celebrity Game, I'm the best player on the team every single time. I don't know if you watched it, but I am. I can show you my highlights.
You can pull them up that fast?
Yep. Mm-hmm. Let me show you my highlights. Which one you want to see? You want to see, uh, you got the one from one year ago?
Yeah, your best one.
Which was my best one? I mean, I scored the same points, the same, the same amount of points in the in all of them. So I'm gonna see right now.
How many points you scored?
A lot. It's been a lot. It's a lot, chat. How many points I scored? It was a lot. Um, hold on, let me— let me— matter of fact, this is the wrong one. I'm gonna show you, I'm gonna show you, I'm gonna show you a better highlight reel, okay? Yup, yup, yup, yup, yup, yup. Mm-hmm.
This the one with the kids, huh?
No, no, these are grown men.
How old are these kids?
Around 20. Around— so these are grown men. These are grown men. These are grown men.
Yo, why you run that kid over?
No, no, no, no, no, no, no. He was in my way. He was in my way.
How many points you have in the game?
Oh, I could go to the stats right here at the end. I think, I believe it was at the end real quick. Hold on, chat, how many stats did I have? Chat, can y'all link me a stat? Chat, can y'all link me one of the stats please? Let me see how much that I had. It was a lot though. I think I had like a lot. Hold on. Hold on, hold on. Let me find it real quick. Let me find it real quick 'cause it's crazy. Hold on— come on now! What'd that say? What'd that say?!
24 points and 32 rebounds.
What'd that say?! Have you ever put up 24 points?!
Oh this was against the kids...
No no no no no it's not. My debut game was 8 points, 20 rebounds.
Why you bullying them kids? I'm not!
God! I'm not! They're grown men, Draymond.
Now what about your celebrity game though? Okay, what was your stats on that?
I got you, I'm gonna show you right now because this— This one's going to be right now.
24-30!
Oh my God, who put it up there?! Chat stop trolling! Chat stop trolling! I'ma show you right now, hold on.
Oh my god...
The celebrity game right here. And honestly, let me know what you think. You let me know what you think. Uh, hold on. Game. Let me know what you think, all right? Yeah yeah yeah yeah see? Hold on, lemme get to the next one. Okay, here we go, right here. Oh, and Dylan Wang smoked the layup. This place is going to erupt.
You're going to need John again.
Here's Tyson App. Good fake and Thornton blocked it. He can't be as warmed up. Oh, man, Tyson App.
10 apiece.
Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. Jackson extra pass for that. Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. Cast up a good shot too.
Northwest Mississippi junior guard, Dylan inside.
Oh, Sennett having a tough night so far. He was riding Shibuzi like a seesaw stick there too afterwards.
I'm not sure what he was doing.
Took out his back, no foul.
What was it?
Wait, it's coming up. Oh, why are you waiting? You fired! Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. It's almost there. Draymond, wait. Wait, Draymond. Wait. You ready? Put the ball in the— my gosh! I'm in! I'm in! Put the ball in the basket. Put the ball in the basket.
It's your time.
Yeah! Come on!
Let's go! So you finished with 2?
Got in. No, no, no, no, no, no, no.
4.
4. It was 4 points. I scored 4 points in 2020, 2024, and I scored points, it's 4 points in 2025.
Okay.
Yes.
So you got, so you averaged 4?
Yes, I averaged, I averaged, I averaged a 4.
Look.
Yeah! Come on now.
Why you start jumping like that?
Because, but do you see the precision in it? Do you see the precision? Look at, look, look out, look how good it is, Draymond. Look. That's good trash. Yes! Come on now! Come on now! Come on now! Average 4, but you know, it's a celebrity game, so everybody just has a one game, and I try to be the team player, honestly. I like passing it all, dishing it off, get my assist up, running the IQ plays and all that, so.
You never hooped before in your life, huh?
I just showed you.
Nah, I—
Like you talking about like back?
Yeah.
I did, like after school, like with my friends.
But never like on the team?
No, I did try out. I did try out.
You got cut?
Yeah.
That's crazy.
No, like I didn't even make like, I didn't know the calls at the time, so they had cut me fast. I tried out though in middle school, in middle school. But I'm good now. I'm an LBA champion. My first rookie year I got a championship and I retired.
LBA is the one with the kids, right?
Okay, you can call it that. They grown men, but you can call it that, yes. Yes, yes, yes. So, so I ain't gonna lie, yeah. But what would be your— I honestly think I could beat you in a 1v1.
You think you could beat me?
Yup.
You think you could score?
Yes.
How many homies you got?
I got a bunch of them. You wanna tell them to come in?
I could probably beat all y'all at—
Okay, hold on, let me call them in. Yo, can we get them in?
Are they all trash like you?
No. Oh, well, well, well, I'm the best out of the group. Oh yeah, I'm the best out of the group.

You can score on me?
Yes.
There's a 0% chance.
Draymond. Now, Draymond. You don't think I could score on you?
There's a 0% chance. How many possessions you get?
What would you do with it? I'll get first possession.

I wanted to dunk on you so bad.
Draymond, 4 championships. 4. How much, how much? I love Draymond. How much is the definition? The definition of a team player. How much of them championships came against bronze? Be honest.

Hell no. Nah, he better.
What did he say?
Wait, he said we can't score on him. I want you to ask Iguodala what happened when he put up to the numbers he put up last year. He ain't lying. Draymond Green, me and him play just alike.

Why is he holding on to my ankle?
Bring yellow's ankle back.
You can't hold my ankle. I'm gonna step on you. Look, they got my ankle wrapped. They don't want you to see that part.

Get your 5 and come play us. Get my 5 and come play y'all? If you could pick a 5, who would you pick? My son, he 8.
Your son?
Yeah, he 8.
Your son not beating me?
Nah, he 8.
Your son?
Yeah, I beat him, he 8.
What's your at the top?
His homeboy 9. I appreciate it. So I get them 2. Another one of his homeboys 8.
He's about your 5?
Yeah.
You can pick anybody? How tall is your son right now?
He like 5 feet, maybe like 5'1".
Oh my gosh. How tall are you? Like 5'9". No, I'm like 5'5".
5'5"? You 5'3"?
Draymond, no, I went to the, I went to the, I went to the, um.
Draymond Green?
No, I'm not Draymond. I went to the doctor. Right before I started my stream, I went to the doctor and they told me I'm 5'5".
All right, so you 5'4"?
But my ID say 5'6", so I'm 5'6".
Damn, you lied?
No, I didn't lie. It's accurate, bro.
All right, you 5'4".
Give me 5'5"!
Y'all almost fight.
Who?
You and my son.
He think he can beat me ass, boy.
Yeah, he'll whoop your ass. Nah, he's getting into soccer.
Oh.
Football. But I'm about to turn into Joe Jackson on him.
Oh, oh, oh.
Nah, he need to play.
Soccer's like, you never know. That shit easy.
Nah, he loves soccer though. He could be pretty good. I want him to hoop for real.
Yeah. But soccer's not bad.
That shit's fire. Yeah, but I could teach you basketball.
I can't really teach you soccer. You good at any other sport?
Football? I played football till 9th grade.
Till 9th grade?
I wasn't that good. I was decent. Door!
Huh? It's in the bathroom.
Just push it 2 times. Y'all got secret ways Open doors around this—
Put over here. It's okay, it's okay, it's okay. Sorry, guys. I don't like— you wasn't lying. I like— you was not lying. He was not lying.
Oh man, y'all got a Dwayne's Brothers hoodie.
You want it?
Hell yeah. You don't know nothing about that, huh?
They was here.
I saw that.
Marlo was here last night. I do know about the Wayne Brothers.
You don't know anything. Look at him. Draymond need to get help.
He needs to get help away whatever's going on. How you like— I'm gonna ask you, how you like deal with the hate? I don't really be in basketball social media, but, um—
I'd rather be hated.
Really? Why?
Well, if you're not gonna love me, I'd rather be hated.
Really?
You know why?
Why?
Because at least you have an opinion about me. If I just sit in the middle, I don't move the needle either way. So if you not gonna love me, so with me, you either love me.
Right.
Or you hate me.
Right.
If you hate me, like, that's your business because you really don't know me. You don't know me.
Right.
You know what I'm saying? So if you hate, if you gonna spend your time, if you gonna waste your time, the energy that it takes to hate a human being or hate anything, the energy that it take you to spend, if you gonna spend your time hating me and you don't know me, then your life what? Like then you should figure out what you need to be doing with your life.
Because why do I talk about— They still talk about you. They still talk about you regardless.
Yeah, why would I care that she hate me or he hate me? Like, that shit ain't gonna pay a bill, it ain't gonna take away from a bill, so what do I fucking care?
Yeah.
So, you know.
Damn.
But people also, people also hate those that win.
Yeah.
Because most people lose.
Damn. Who's the hardest player to guard?
The hardest player?
In the NBA.
In my career or right now?
Both.
Both.
In your career.
The hardest player I had to guard in my career is KD. KD and OKC.
That's crazy.
Yeah, after that I figured it might like, Slim can't score on me no more. Nah, he gonna score on everybody, but. I got better and learned more about his game. And but in OKC and just coming into the league and figuring— oh my God, no chance. And now, now, now, yeah, now, you know, I give, I, I give, I give most of these niggas hell. I don't even know that. Um, the hardest now is joking Mm. I play with Steph, so—
Yeah.
I don't have to—
Head guard him.
I don't have to head him.
Yeah. Joker.
Luka will always be one of the toughest covers.
Okay.
But that ain't my matchup. Of my matchups, the hardest to guard right now is Joker. And believe it or not, people want to— I'm not even going to say this one because I won't give him this advantage on me. That joker is Eugene Ojeda. We'll leave that joke.
Okay. Wait, there's one more?
There's just one that's really tough.
Just say it.
Like, I'mma always put up there, but there's one that's really tough.
I'm not saying. Who?
I don't want to give him the edge on me.
Why?
Because he probably don't believe he has that edge. So I can't give him the edge.
Can I get a hint?
He a big man.
Mm. West or east?
West.
Mm. Okay, we just leave it at that then.
Yeah.
We can do that again.
Like, he has an edge and I don't—
You don't want to— yeah.
I don't believe he think—
Okay.
He got the edge.
Okay.
And so the only thing I have left is to have the edge.
Right.
I can't give him that.
You can't give him that?
Nah.
You can't give him that?
I can't give him that. It's crazy.
Okay. All right. How was— how did it feel for that team you want to come back. Talk to me. How did that game feel? How did the game feel? How was the environment? I think the best finals ever.
You know what's crazy? It's that game, or even the whole thing, like them coming at no point of it, like whether it was game 5, game 6, game 7, At no point, game 6, I kind of knew like, yo, we probably gonna be fucked up in game 6. Like, word, to go back to Cleveland and win after all this shit that happened, like, it's gonna be hard as fuck. They didn't came in one game 5. I'm now coming back in game 6 since I was suspended from game 5.
Yep.
It's gonna be hard as fuck for us to go in there and win that game 6. Kind of knew that.
Yeah.
I appreciate it. Game 7, I never thought there was a chance we would lose that game until like the game ended. Like it was tied up. 80, either 86 to 86 or 88 to 88.
I think it was 89-89.
Yeah, something like that.
Chad, what was the tie at? Yo, bro, I love watching this shit.
For like 6 minutes.
I love watching this shit.
Oh my gosh. It was tied at 87, they say? 89.
Wait, MZ, chat, what was that? The title be— it be final 3 minutes and 39 seconds of Game 7.
So it was tied at 89.
89, 80.
It was tied like that for—
Bro, look how long it's tied for.
It was tied like that from like the 6-minute mark, 7-minute mark. But when you in it, you don't know. Like, you not in the game like, "Yo, we been tied at 89 for a while." You just in the game.
What'd you get suspended for again?
This play, the LeBron play. That's what I got suspended for. When he stepped over my shoulder.
Wait, this game?
Nah, it was in Game 4.
Yeah.
But you know the play you first showed where he stepped over my shoulder?
Right.
I got suspended for that play.
Oh my gosh. You regret spending for that?
Fuck no. Yo, if you fall down and you're getting up and I put my leg on top of your shoulder, what you gonna do?
I'm gonna do something.
You gonna?
Yeah.
Right? I will never regret that.
So, okay, thank you.
I don't want my son to think that if somebody do that to him, it's okay.
No, he give no fucks.
That shit not okay.
So, okay, okay. So every foul.
No, not every foul, but like—
Majority, majority.
No, that's as a man.
Okay.
There's a lot of space on the basketball. You don't step over my shoulder.
Do you, wait, hold on. Do you think that players tend to poke at you knowing that—
For sure.
Ooh, knowing that you might react.
No question, but the thing is with them, they can't get me to react until I just wanna, like at some point, if I wanna do something to you, I'm gonna do something to you. But you ain't just gonna poke and I'm gonna go, ah, you know what I mean?
Nah.
But also, here's the problem they have. In this, in this, in this thing that we do, right? Respect is paramount, right? It's everything. Like, if you leave this thing and you got— and you have no respect, you should have never done it. So respecting this thing that we do is— obviously money is important, right? But the next thing is respect. You know why it's respect? What's legacy? Legacy is respect.
Yeah.
You know what I'm saying? Like, so the first thing they say on TV is, "Oh man, Bron this, he felt, oh Steph this." Like they're poking at a legacy because respect is everything. So for me, respect is everything. Well, the problem these niggas have when they like, when they act like suckers is Okay, you did that. Say I get a tech, cool. Say I get kicked out of the game, cool. But like, you laid out on the floor after a man hit you. You just laid there. The respect that you— that you lost, was it worth the ejection? Because clearly they really don't equal wins. I got 4 championships. There's not another player in the NBA outside of Klay Thompson. LeBron James.
LeBron James. Steph Curry. Steph Curry.
That has 4 championships. So it clearly don't work. So you just lose respect. I'm sorry, I'd rather have my respect. So when you do that, now for the rest of your career when I see you, I see right through you and now you have to deal with me on a level of I don't have any respect for you. That is way more dangerous for you than if I had respect for you.
That's a man.
You know, that's the problem they had. And you know, and guess what? Then the lack of respect, and now I got your mind. You know what that lead to?
Fuck.
How the fuck you gonna beat me?
Yeah.
You can't win, nigga. I got no respect for you. I got your mind. I played all type of mind games with you. I know you're a sucker. You can't win. So, you know. It's all good.
Who's your favorite NBA player?
My favorite NBA player?
All time and career. Shaq.
Shaq?
No question. Damn.
My favorite player of all time.
Damn.
Shaq.
Okay, and currently to watch, like that's like you excited to see?
Currently to watch.
You excited to see them like, you know, see where it goes?
People crazy.
I ain't gonna lie. Machoppy and Messy.
Yeah, they are. They crazy. My favorite player—
I don't know how Machoppy and Messy won. Beyond Unseen it, Draymond. You got my respect, sir.
My favorite player to watch is Steph, an obvious one.
Yes, oh my gosh.
I get front row seat to that one.
Yeah.
I really enjoy watching Joker play, just how he think and process the game. But my favorite is Shaq.
Shaq.
'Cause Shaq, he's just gonna get to a bucket and people be complaining like, yo, he drawing fouls. Like, bro, that's a skill. There's an art to that.
Like who?
If you're a dumb defender and you foul, that's your fault. That's no knock to him that he know how to get fouled. Like, we had to beat, in order to get these championships, James Harden in his heyday. James Harden, the way he can create a foul, it was on us to figure out how not to foul. So when people throw like the foul merchant, like— No, by the way, that man averaged 34 points a game, 11 in the playoffs. Coming off of free throws or 8, 9 of them, bro, he's still giving you 25 straight buckets. That's my favorite player, no question. And to watch how, like, a lot of guys in this league, bro, they wouldn't go through what he went through in OKC, where the team just like completely taken to shit and it's terrible and you're growing into like star barrel with no fucking help and just sit there and trust it and like actually go through it and then become champions? Only Steph Curry did that. Giannis did that, but Steph, like, that's, that's a very, very, very hard thing to do, and he giving you all type of buckets while doing it. That's my favorite player in basketball.
Mmm, okay.
No question.
LeBron or Jordan? LeBron and/or Jordan and why?
LeBron or Jordan and why? MJ is crazy. I grew up watching MJ.
Yeah. And be honest, and be honest. Who is like, it's so tricky to word it. It's just like, who do you think is just better? Who do you think is just, I don't know, I don't know how to word it, but like LeBron or Jordan? Simple as that.
Bron. Reason why is because Bron can control— He said Bron.
He said Bron, Tylo. Tylo, he said Bron.
You ready to come fight me, bro?
He got Bron's images added on you. Full of shit.
Y'all be honest, it takes about 7 minutes to get from my room to this room. I was running full speed to come I want to see your answer in person because you never played against Jordan. You never played against Jordan.
No.
So there's no way you can say Jordan is better than LeBron.
Well, no, no, I want to make— there's a reason, you know. So LeBron, because why?
It's LeBron because people threw the towel in on J.R. Smith. Like, as talented as J.R. was, us. People threw the towel in on him like, yo, he can't play winning basketball, he can't do this, he can't do that. It's not just JR though. If you look at some of the guys that he had to lead— yeah, JR had talent, no question, but people threw the towel in on you already. When people throw the towel in on you in this league, it's over. And people threw the towel in on on JR, and Bron's like, nah, this man can shoot and he can defend. I can do something with that. I don't think MJ had many guys that went through that. Like Scottie Pippen is like Matthew Delavedova. He won 2 games in the NBA Finals with Delavedova.
Matthew Delavedova is fucking terrible.
I got a lot of respect for MacDudelly stinks. I respect his game. Completely stinks. Like, like, he can win with like guys like that, man. It's hard to win in this league, bro, to win with guys like that. MJ wasn't winning with MacDudelly, Vondova. I mean, unless they thought that was Steve Kerr, but he wasn't winning with MacDudelly, like Steve Kerr is probably one of Jordan's worst teammates that contributed to a teammate. Steve Kerr was a damn good NBA player that played 14, 15 years in the NBA. Watch how you speak about Coach. No, I'm just saying.
You don't wanna come up with names. Yeah, yeah, watch how you speak about Coach. Coach might put you at the end of the bench. That's Coach. That's Coach.
I'm just telling you.
That's Draymond Green.
That's Coach though. I'm just telling you. Steve, if you look at Steve, even Steve journey in the league, for someone that contributed to a championship on the Bulls, his path was probably the worst of anyone. Like, that's just facts. Like, fair enough, had to figure it out. Like, it's real, the cut from a team, had to figure out his path. Of guys that contributed to the Bulls championships, his path was worse than anyone.
He had a crazy shot though, but I Big time.
Yeah, but I'm saying that's, that's all a part of him going to make it happen. Steve's path was dog shit. He just had to figure it out, like, last cut on the team, make the team type shit. His path— Jordan ain't had them type of teammates. Jordan had made teammates. Matthew Delvedova, bro? Nah, come on, man. And so I think to do that. Like Shane Battier, like the Miami teams, no question.
I ain't gonna lie.
Damn, like Miami teams, no question. Norris Cole, Mario Chalmers, Shane Battier. Mario got game. No, Mario got game.
Shane Battier, stop. Shane Battier, no, no, Shane Battier, no, no, no. I'm not saying he's bad. I'm saying those are role players. —
No, those are real role players. I ain't giving them much credit for that. But to even the games they lost in Cleveland, us, like, to win with Delly—
Nah, you hate Delly, bro.
Mozgov got paid right out of the league within a year.
Okay, but, but like that, they won a championship with Timberwolves got. Hey, and you think like, ah, matchup, matchup, matchup, Bron got it over MJ?
I just think, I, I just think Bron is a point guard, man. Like, he control everything that happened on the floor, right? The triangle kind of control stuff for you. Now don't get me wrong, MJ is MJ, no disrespect to MJ, but the triangle, you don't have to control every Possessed. Draymond said it. Listen, I don't— I just think— Draymond, appreciate you. That's why you my fucking favorite.
I'm telling you. What's up? What song was y'all listening to here? What song was I listening to right here? What song was this?
I don't know, we was at my wedding.
That's recently.
That's like 3 years ago. That—
nah, this photo so iconic.
Oh, we had a ball. That was lit! I don't remember the song though— I don't know the song but we had a fucking ball!
Oh yeah what was this at?
We all took a picture... Where was it?
Uh... I think it was you, Bronn, you was there, it was Kevin Love. Wait when did you get married?
That was somebody's wedding right? Yeah Fred's wedding, Andrew Ford.
You have fun?
Yeah it was a good time. I bust they ass at golf on the leagues.
Yeah something about that golf protection. Yo yo yo shit like I'm like, should we hit the golf fields?
Y'all got golf here too? No, no, no, no. I was about to say, y'all got that here?
No, but should we? I look like, is it like, y'all—
No.
I don't know, all people say it's fire.
100%.
What's so fun about golf?
Hey, we all stink.
Oh, so y'all all ass?
You and basketball, it's all of us. Because it's, bruh, it's one of the hardest things you can do. That shit is fucking hard.
Yeah, but since it's hard, that's what makes it fun because you do always figure it out. You have a good run or you just—
Bro, you know what they say about the golf course? All it takes is you to hit one shot. That one shot of a whole day gonna make you be, "Oh, I think I can figure this out." And it bring you back the next day. All it takes is one shot, bro. You get one, you hit one good, you like, "Oh, ah, I get it, bro." The next one is—
Yeah.
Out there.
How often you golf?
I don't golf enough. I got 4 kids, man. I can't, I can't golf.
Yeah. And do you want to like golf more? Basketball.
Yeah. Yeah, I want to golf more. But it's fun. It's fun. And you outside, bro, with your homies.
And the swag in golf is so fire. Golf cart, capris, everything.
You know what I'm saying?
You got any like Uh, Kobe stories? Un-Kobe stories?
Uh, my favorite Kobe story— I got a couple Kobe stories.
Go ahead, tell them. Go ahead, tell them.
A couple that stand out to me, um, one was— so when I came into the NBA, I was only starstruck by two brothers.
Who were?
Kobe. Nobody on your chat would guess the second person.
None of y'all would guess I know, I know, I know. Leandro Barbosa. That's your favorite player? He's one of y'all greatest, he's one of y'all greatest teammates of all time.
That's your favorite player?
Yes, Leandro Barbosa.
I fuck with LB, that's my dog.
Come on now, tell him.
LB got love here.
Come on.
But no, not LB.
I think it was, I wanna guess. Who, what year do you? I'm gonna say, I'm gonna say Al Iverson or Rudy Gay?
Al wasn't in the league no more back then.
Rudy Gay?
Nah, that's my dog, damn nah. Can't say. Rudy a good dude, but nah.
Bron?
Nah.
Tracy McGrady?
Nah.
Lamarcus Aldridge? No. Tim Duncan.
Tim Duncan wasn't starstruck, but very fond of. But Grant Hill.
Grant Hill.
Grant Hill played— I'm from Saginaw, Michigan. Grant Hill played in the turquoise jersey with the Pistons. He was on the Pistons. Pistons. Grant with the Pistons was like, bro, Grant with the Pistons was a player we like I'd never seen before in the NBA. He was so nice. So I was growing up watching that. So those were the two players I was starstruck by. My first game, first couple games, I get in, only way I could get in the game is if we needed to stop. 'Cause he was gonna go to Brandon Rush or anybody else before, so we needed to stop. He put me in the guard Kobe. I said, uh, I eat Kobe, pick it up, he gets caught and shoot the fadeaway. I contest the fadeaway way short and I go, hell yeah, hell yeah. He tell me, he said, I just missed, young fella, that ain't have shit to do with you. Broke my heart. What?
What?
Broke my heart. You ain't gonna know you broke my heart though. I said, "Fuck outta here. I locked that shit up." He just looked back and walked to the bench. We went overtime.
All right. We went overtime.
And I went back to the bench and overtime started. So that was, that was, that was like a, Like, that was my first moment with Kobe. Like, that was a core memory for me. And, uh, I don't know, man. I think, like, the rest— like, just the guidance, you know what I'm saying? Like, Kobe was really that guy. Like, if you struggle with something and you call him, he will pick up the phone at any time.
Word.
At any time. Like, if you struggle with something and you call him, he will pick up the phone. He was really like that guy.
Kobe.
Like, he will pick up the phone. When I got suspended from that series that we were talking about, bro, I was getting murdered, crushed, media crushing me, everybody crushing me. Pressuring me. And it had been going like kind of through the playoffs. And I called him, I said, man, I am sick of this shit. Like these people attacking my character, blah, blah, blah.
The media, man.
And he said to me, he said, I love what you're doing. You're chasing something so great, so incredible what y'all are chasing. He said 99% of the world is okay with mediocrity or less. Like if they can reach mediocrity, they're like, it's fine. He said, well, of the 99% of the world that reaches mediocrity, he said, You said, "Oh, the 1%." The 1% isn't necessarily the people that's asking you these questions. They're not necessarily in the 1% of people that is not okay with mediocrity. So if you're going to waste your time worried about what they understand and you're a part of the 1% that's chasing something so out of their imagination they can never even imagine going after it and what it takes and how it feels. If you gonna waste your time worried about what they think, you might as well quit now because they will never understand to the level that it takes to be in the 1% that's gonna chase that greatness. And that was like kind of the thing—
Nah nah nah! Don't mean no hate man.
At that moment. That's how I feel right now, boy. You ass.
No, no, no, I'm talking life.
Oh, okay. I thought it was just something.
Nah, nah, nah, that was some deep shit. 'Cause I be dealing with the media and shit, niggas, they don't really know me, but that was, I take heed to that. My nigga, I was so fucking happy when you couldn't play in that Game 5.
I was so happy. What's wrong?
Yes!
Get your hackin' ass on the bench.
Fuck outta here.
Y'all needed that. I was—
he was down 3.
He couldn't play game 5. Yeah, it was over. It was a wrap. I'm not gonna lie, if he'd played game 5— It was over.
I'mma keep it a buck. We'd have still won. It was over.
It was over. No, no, no, I know. When they said he couldn't play game 5, Kyle Ward, I'm like, yes! Get the fuck on the— he was— No, he was tired.
Yeah. Bro, listen.
I got up— the reason I missed the game, I got upgraded to a flagrant foul.
Yup.
And it gave me an accumulation of flagrant foul points. Bruh, every flagrant foul point I had during that playoffs was assessed to— including that one— was assessed to me after the game. Meaning, go back and review tape. We're upgrading this foul to a flagrant foul. Making. Every single point I had was given to me after the game. Not one of them was called during the game.
They said Draymond is ruled out for Game 5. Yes!
That's bullshit.
Kyrie and Bron, Game 6, 40 and 40. Then Game 7, step back 3. No, I gotta go through, I gotta go through. Oh, watch it. I gotta go through.
I know it was—
Come here, come here, Draymond. I gotta see how you was feeling.
He was so mad.
I got to see how you was feeling. We get into whatever we're getting into quicker. I need you to— every time a major moment happens, I need you to break down. Probably set the screen, didn't hurry the action. Curry now picks him up, 5 to shoot. James powers, drives down the lane, layup, missed it. Iguodala contested. This is all they used to do, they just try to Draymond Green kicks it out, Iguodala for 3! Rebound James and he's fouled by Curry.
That's gonna be 4 fouls on Curry, 3rd team foul.
And we'll take a timeout as we get under the 3-minute mark. This is good.
A ball game so stacked. Also, in that game 7, I cooked you niggas bad. No, no, no, you had an amazing game.
No, did I? How much you had, Draymond?
Uh, maybe like—
There's the triple-double for LeBron and Mike. Ty Lue elects to take out Tristan Thompson, insert Richard Jefferson. Offensively, that'll give him more space. But it's not a timeout. Defensively, that's a real challenge for the Cavaliers against the likes of Curry and— Ah, this is it! Ah, this is it! He's a man!
Man! Hey, crazy thing is, it's great defense. That's my favorite. Great defense.
He's a bad fucking man.
Top of the list.
Great defense. No, no, you know it's not great defense.
No, that's great defense.
Now Draymond.
Draymond Green.
In this point of time when that ball went through that basket with 53.2 left, how did that make you feel?
We got Steph Curry. Damn, I still thought he was going to win. I know you did. We got Steph Curry. Damn, I still thought we was going to win.
You was mad.
Was I mad? Not a question. That game, he had a triple-double, I think. Almost.
That's Kyrie Irving. But you knew Kyrie was going to score cuz they got the switch. No chance.
[FOREIGN] He took a step back.
Go back, huh?
What do we look—
you see how he stopped at the Oracle? He had Oracle. I tell him, stop playing, step back, free up, let's go. That was, that, that was actually insane. And the Cavaliers by 3. And I like the no timeout call by Steve Kerr.
That's right.
Love picks up Curry. Curry steps back, takes the 3.
The Kevin Love just Draymond Green decides to play some defense for the first time in his career.
7-2.
Fucking bullshit. Like, this man decided that he wanted to have the best defensive possession of his career. Got picked on his whole fucking career defensively, and he decided to have the best defensive possession of his life with 30 seconds left in Game 7 of the NBA Finals. Oh, dude, it's really counting? Like, what?
K. Love, boy, with a box with his— I'm like, what the fuck? I can't believe that.
Who falls asleep like that? It's Draymond Green's shot.
30 seconds remaining. What a spectacular job by Love. Irving on the drive, goes inside, lost it, gets it back and finds Love. There's a 7-second difference between the Clippers and the Pacers. And they got a foul against the Clippers. —3 extra seconds, and what was Kyrie Irving doing in transition? So James will inbound. Now there's a 4.7 difference between shot clock and game clock. Cavaliers have no timeout left. They're going to the backcourt the last 2 minutes to get it. But they've got to manage just clock. They don't want to go early. Irving drives to J. Oh, I watched that live! That's what— God, that's what I was just talking about. I was talking about this play right here when I first came in to see him. Oh my, I watched that live. This is the jam, but foul. Warriors have 2 timeouts remaining.
And he made that Oh my God, I've had a poster in my room.
He'd have called you every day after that play right there. There's no pressure right now. You're up 3. Worst case scenario, you got to give him one free throw. That should be the mindset. I missed it. You got to step up and knock this free throw down if you're LeBron James. Warriors will no doubt call timeout. Miss or make here from James. Rattles in the second. 4-point game. Timeout Golden State. Is that it? Is Curry gonna try to shoot a 3? Curry runs off. They not leaving Curry alone. Thompson catches. Thompson, a couple of dribbles. Head fake. Tied up. Throws it in to Green. And a foul on the entry pass. That's the foul to give. And now they'll take it out of bounds with 6.5 remaining. And you gotta make sure you're in nobody's area to allow them to knock you out.
That's the magic part of Draymond. No, no, no. Hey, y'all wanna hear something interesting? I forgot, yo, they had the, you know what they called their team? It was him, Curry, KD, and Klay? The Avengers.
Now, ask him to explain the picture that time, it was all sitting courtside with slippers on.
He knew they was gonna go 73 and 0. Hey, check this out. 2009 was crazy. You wanna hear something about this game though? Mm.
Draymond Green.
They probably just saw me like, kind of sitting here getting upset. I've never watched this.
Your first time watching this back?
This is my first time ever watching this.
You never watched this playback?
I have never watched this.
Kyrie ballin'.
Blame Kyrie, chat. I've never watched this before in my life.
Damn, so like, it is disrespectful?
Nah, I needed to watch it, but I never would have went to it myself. And if it come on, I would just leave, walk out. I've never watched this. No, it's not disrespectful, bro. I don't give a shit.
Damn.
I've never watched that before. So when you was even just talking about like the dunk down the middle, I forgot that even happened. I've never watched this. As soon as I saw the play, I was like, oh, that's where it's coming. I've never fucking watched this. That shit was 9 years ago.
Oh my God.
I never watched that. And by the way, I would've never fucking watched it.
What?
I ain't never—
Oh my God.
I've never watched this fucking game at all. Fuck the ending. I ain't never watched the game.
Oh my gosh. Damn, it don't even feel like 9 years.
Yeah.
It don't even feel like that was 9 years ago, chat.
2016. That shit was 9 years ago. That's crazy.
2016.
You watch over JR too, Stephen Curry. Yeah, bro.
Crazy.
I never fucking watched. That shit's crazy.
So when y'all had KD on y'all ticket, Like, like, genius. Yeah, wait, wait, wait, when you got the call that KD's on your team, how did that feel, man?
It was early as fuck in the morning. He called me.
Oh, he called you direct?
Early in the morning, like 6, 7 o'clock in the morning. 6, 7? I don't even hear my phone at 6, 7. I heard that call for some reason, and he called me. He was like, let's get it, bro. Like, Let's win some championships. And I was like, you coming, bro? He like, pause. He like, let's win some champ— 6, 7 o'clock in the morning. I couldn't believe that shit. I couldn't believe that. How do— that's not even fair. How the fuck?
The reality is— That's not fair. That's not fair at all.
I knew the whole year he did not want to be there no more. So I knew that the whole year. So there's a story, you know, there's a story of like Draymond cried to the car, got to the car and cried to KD, as if I would ever cry to something. It's crazy. But there's that story. And so me and K was already cool as fuck. Like we was talking, like we was in the city, he was in San Francisco and KD, I was in Oakland. So I knew he didn't want to be there. So we had already kind of talked about like, yo, you should come to Warriors. When I signed my contract, my first big contract, I took less money so we'd have a max cap space because the salary cap was going to jump. So I took less money. So that we will have a max salary slot the following summer anyway. So I knew we could get him, so I had already been talking to him. And then as it plays and we lose the game, we was texting after the game. When I left the arena, we was on the phone, we talked when I left the arena. And I'm like, bro, you should like— when you lose an NBA Finals, ask Bob Myers, anytime we lose the Finals or win, really, you on to the next one. Like, yo, what do we got to do to get better? Like, I never want to feel that shit again. Losing the NBA Finals is the worst position you can be in the NBA. You get a short-ass summer like the champion, you got absolutely absolutely nothing to celebrate. It's the fucking worst. So you immediately move on to what's next. So we talking about your life. What's next? You, you come here, we do the meeting in the Hamptons, which is where the Hampton Five name came from. Me, Steph, Klay, Andre, KD. We meet with him in the Hamptons. That was July 1st. July 1st. I think he called the morning of July 4th, the morning of July 3rd. I— there was no chance nobody could beat them two. I mean, fuck, bro.
Like, if you watch— yo, come on. If you watch those games when they had Kevin Durant— like, first of all, how the fuck did—
oh, you said you, you took a pay cut for a max contract. But this— so in 2015-16, after that season, if you're gonna look, a lot of bums got paid. The reason a lot of bums got paid is because that's when that new media deal kicked in, which is now a new one, but that a new media deal kicked in. And so there was a huge salary cap spike. I don't remember what the exact numbers were, but say if the salary cap was $70 million, that shit jumped to like $106 million, like one summer.
Damn.
So it opened up a huge salary cap gap for all the teams. So when I took a little less, that gave us enough to have a full amount for a salary, a max salary cap. That's how we signed KD, because of the media rights deal, the salary cap jump.
And KD went to the Warriors right the, the year after, the year after OKC lost. Yeah, he did.
When OKC lost—
It was some, it was some—
No, not the finals.
I think OKC lost in the playoffs. Him and Westbrook. Yeah, they lost to y'all and he joined y'all. He joined y'all. Yeah. And that's why he was dealing with a lot of hate. That's why it looks so crazy. And that's why he was dealing with a lot of hate on the media. Yeah, yeah, he had mad hate in the media. He had mad hate in the media. Mad hate in the media. I don't think he got mad hate for the defense.
But here's why though. Think about this. They're really only hating because he KD. Because Andre Iguodala did the same thing. We beat them in the playoffs. He signed with the Warriors that same summer. KD, KD, yeah. So people only hating like that because he's KD.
Yeah.
Andre Iguodala did the same thing. Nobody said a word. Also, nigga, we lost. The difference in between losing a championship and winning it, I just told you, it's drastic. Like, you don't get a fucking, token for making it to the— we fucking lost. There's no guarantee we're ever going back. So when he came and joined the team, he didn't join some championship team. We just fucking lost. We lost.
Draymond Green.
Nigga, we lost. I didn't give up nobody. We fucking lost.
You got 3 of the best shooters in the whole NBA on one team.
Once you lose though, you're no longer invincible.
The fucking Avengers.
Yeah, I mean, nobody was beating us. That's the best team ever. Iron Man, Captain America. Nobody was beating us.
Fuck! That's the Hulk.
73-9. Best team ever. That's the best team ever. That's before KD though.
Yeah. I think I went like 60, I think I had like 60. Hold up, hold up.
The first year we maybe won like 7, 68 or 66, but we, nobody can fuck with us.
Bro, did you see how they was sitting at the bench? —pregame, it was like this. I thought Kawhi was fucking y'all up, bro.
Bro, he played one quarter, two quarters.
Because he got hurt. But he was fucking y'all up.
For two quarters. You know how many games you gotta win in an NBA series?
Four.
Two quarters.
You know how many people— 16.
By the way, you know how many people on those teams that would be up Not by Kawhi, it's real, by the way, but you know how many, we were known for what we would do in the third quarter. That was, you know it. We were known, like, if you not up 40 in the third quarter, you losing. How about that? So we were known for what we gonna do in the third quarter. I know.
Two quarters. So you think y'all gonna win another chip?
That's happening.
Huh?
That's happening. I'm out. That's happening.
You win another chip?
Who you think gonna win? LeBron gonna win another one?
I'm gonna be honest, the Lakers have a better chance to win the championship than you guys at this point. You know that because—
I believe that.
The Golden State Warriors chemistry is not as good as before.
You know that. Chemistry?
The chemistry is not as good as before. You know that.
The Lakers have a much better better chance of winning the championship. They got chemistry better than you guys.
It's true, huh?
You know, come on, like, come on. Oh, you've been reading, you've been reading.
Whoa, get the fuck out of here. I'm watching, I'm betting, I'm betting on these games. He said, I'm betting, I'm betting. Yes.
No, what you genuinely think, like, no Troller shit.
Yes, I got one more trick.
Yeah, what you owe me when we win? I can't bet.
What's that, man?
So you just got to owe me something.
You going to owe him?
You got to give me a gift. If I bet, I'll lose everything. So you owe me something.
No, I want you to give me, um—
I can't give you nothing because now you don't win.
You can give So would you, would you give me a signed Steph Curry jersey?
I can get you a signed Steph Curry jersey anywhere. Oh, oh, oh.
He's here for a night. Oh yeah, your ring. For a night. No, not that, not that.
Of course not that.
He said, of course not that. Damn right.
My ring for a night?
Yeah. Ring, fuck with that.
I'm gonna make sure with the NBA that that's not considered to be done. As long as it's not, no problem.
Okay, cool, but you know that you guys have no fucking shot at winning another Finals, but I respect the conference.
Technically, you can't— it can't be betting because if you were in my ring for a night, that would technically have to be after I'm done playing anyway.
Exactly.
But it's not like that.
I understand the conference, y'all got fucking— y'all got Superman, a nigga that shoot from the fucking parking lot. The moment he park his motherfucking car— The Ranger, the Ranger, thanks for the $100, get appreciated, Russkii.
PC, thanks for the $100.
Now this is a PC. I give away one every single day. So I have a guest come here and sign it and I give it away to the chat. So this is a Day9 PC.
Okay.
So if you can sign it.
Oh, that's fine.
W Draymond, y'all. W fucking Draymond. TheRageR, thanks for the $100 gifted, appreciate it. [APPLAUSE] And one more thing too is, Is it plugged in?
Yeah, I'm plugged in.
And one more thing too is if you could do a motivational speech where it's like I have a song that plays and then just talk to somebody that maybe needs some motivation. Just see the clip and, you know, I do this for every guest when they come on and just see what happens. You'll sit like right here. You a good-ass storyteller though. You are well spoken. I ain't gonna lie, chat. You be reading books?
Yeah, I read. You gotta read.
What's your favorite books? I'm reading right now.
I'm not reading a book right now. What's your favorite book that you read? The last book that I read, 3 months ago, I read, I reread Rich Dad Poor Dad. Rich, no, it's not Rich Dad Poor Dad. It is Rich Dad Poor Dad.
It's by the, So y'all know what he talking about?
Rich Dad Poor Dad. Because I'm in this phase right now with my son. He's 8. And I've been kind of going through these moments of like, how do you teach him how to have the grind and the knowledge and understanding of, yo, like how to keep the money. As opposed to growing up, like my biggest fear is having a kid that grow up like a privileged kid.
Mm-hmm.
Like I hate that. And so that book, I reread it because I read it 9 years ago.
Mm-hmm.
Like 2015, '16, I read that book, which was before my son was born. And so I reread that book recently because I feel the privilege and I wanted to re-understand those principles of how he understood, well, wrote out in the book of how he understood the difference in between his Rich Dad and his Poor Dad and what you're giving to the children. And so I think that's a great, that book is like a great foundational book.
I love that, yeah.
It's a great foundational book to help, especially, which will be in your case as well when you have kids, especially for a privileged kid that is growing up with all of these means that growing up in Saginaw, I ain't have shit.
Yeah.
And so I can't really, without reading, I can't really teach him from a space of knowing. I can only kind of rely on people that's done it and read and try to chase the knowledge in order to give it to him. Or else if I don't, then I fuck it all up. And I can only rely on him being able to give it to his kid because he lived it. So how do I give it to him, my son, without living it? Because I never lived as a privileged kid.
Right.
So how do I give him what he need to be that? And I was never a privileged kid. And that book is a very foundational, just understanding understanding of like the thinking of how we went about this with our kid, how this guy went about with his kid, and what my rich dad did and what my poor dad did, and the drastic difference in between the two. It's crazy. And so I reread that book, was my last book reading. Summertime, I'm not sitting down and reading no book. No chance. You gotta read on the road.
All right, chat, I'm about to, I'm about to play it real quick. Nice this little instrumental, whatever comes to your mind, short, long, whatever, talk. Ready?
Oh, that's fire. Nah, man, I just think for me personally, I'm sure that there are people out there going through tough times. I feel like you about to crush me, but like those times pass, as you continue on through the journey, it only gets brighter. You know, you go— if you reach the bottom, there's no way up but the top. I mean, there's no way but up. And put yourself in the room where, where you can find that, where, where you have the confidence to be the dumbest person in the room, to be the person in the room with the least amount of whatever that thing is. Put yourself in those rooms because if you put yourself in those rooms, there's only upside for you. If, if you are the smartest person in the room, if you got the most in the room, you can only lose from there. If you're at your worst, find that connection, find that person, find that room that allows you to grow. That's, that's probably changing your environment. Don't be afraid to change. I think As I say that, I can admit to you that I am someone that struggles with change, but you can't be afraid of it because without change is no growth. And so if you're chasing growth, embrace the change. I appreciate y'all. Thank you, my brother.
Damn! W, Draymond, y'all. W, Draymond. And one last question. Can I get some courtside seats to the season coming up?
Absolutely.
No doubt. I'm with Draymond.
1000%.
There you go.
Oh, hell yeah.
Draymond, check out—
You gotta pull up though.
I'll pull up. I swear I'll pull up. I'll pull up, bro.
All right, pull up. Say less.
That W, Draymond, man. Thank you so much, Draymond.
I appreciate you, man.
