In this brief, profanity‑laden recollection, Shaquille O'Neal (Speaker A) looks back to the 2000 NBA Finals in Indiana, the first championship for the Los Angeles Lakers. He describes fouling out in Game 1, feeling personally responsible for a potential loss, and criticizes his own lack of focus on free‑throw shooting, blaming his off‑court interests like rap and movies. Shaq then shifts to praising Kobe Bryant’s "killer mentality," noting Kobe’s dominant performance (a 4‑ or 5‑point run) that convinced Shaq the Lakers would win the series. The clip serves as a candid, informal tribute to Kobe’s competitive drive and a self‑critical moment for Shaq.

Kobe, number one. He had the master killer mentality. My favorite game in Indiana was on our first championship where I fouled out and I looked at him, was like, if we lose, it's all my fucking fault. Shaq, you motherfucker, you wanna be a rapper, you doing movies and you ain't concentrating on your free throws. I don't know what my percentage was, but it wasn't black Steph Curry-like. So I already know if we fucking lose this series, it's gonna be my fault. I'm looking at Kobe, motherfucker do me like this. I'm like, "That motherfucker." He had an incredible 4 or 5, like, and then I knew then we was gonna win our first championship. So him for that.
