In this brief commentary, Draymond Green argues that the San Antonio Spurs are equally fortunate to have Stephon Castle as they are to have Victor Wembanyama. He emphasizes Castle’s lifelong winning pedigree and claims that Castle has reintroduced a winning mindset to a franchise that has struggled recently. While acknowledging Wembanyama’s potential to become an all‑time great, Green stresses that championships require contributions from multiple players, and that Castle’s role will be as vital as Wembanyama’s for the Spurs’ present and future success.

I think the Spurs are just as lucky to have Stephon Castle as they are to have Wimby. Stephon Castle is a winner. He's been a winner his entire life. And I think Stephon Castle has brought the winning ways to the San Antonio Spurs. They've been losing for a while and you gotta get those ways back. Does that mean Victor Wimbyama can't possibly become the greatest player ever? No, that does not mean that he can't. But when you're speaking of an organization, one player doesn't win championships and different people carry different roles. And the role that Stephon Castle will play for those San Antonio Spurs teams right now and moving forward will be equally as important. Good support.
