The draft is always weird just 'cause you have a plan or you think you know where the best fit is. And I always wanted to go to New York. That was it. Like, I was trying to find my way there. Mike D'Antoni was there. Danilo Gallinari, David Lee. Like, it was supposed to be like the run-and-gun type Phoenix 2.0 offense. And I was supposed to be the point guard there. And they kind of sold me on that dream, but they had the ace pick. So I wanted to go there. I didn't work out for Golden State. I didn't come out here before the draft. Minnesota, like they had the 5 and 6 picks. So I was like, all right, if I can just get past 5 and 6, cool, I'm gonna be in New York and it's gonna be dope. And everything that I imagined the NBA to be and the fit was gonna be there. And then Larry Riley and Don Nelson had other plans. 7th pick came around, called my name. I had like mixed emotions 'cause like, this is, you know, it's a dream come true to get drafted. Absolutely. It don't matter where it is. But I was like, that was not on my radar.
