Draymond Green says the Mavericks need to move Luka Dončić into the low post more often to draw doubles and free up teammates. Post play could exploit matchups against Jrue Holiday and Jayson Tatum, and getting role players involved early keeps the bench loose.
Luka came out really aggressive in the first quarter. I feel like he gotta get his, his role guys a little bit more involved in the, in the first half. I know as a role player, that first quarter, if you don't get a layup or a dunk or something to get you going, you, you get a little tense. Now later in the game, you ain't gonna be, you ain't gonna shoot the ball as well.
They actually need to change their offense right now. Right. Like I actually, I think they need to have Luka in the post.
Yeah, I, I agree with putting Luka on the post. Like, from guarding him, uh, in the playoffs and guarding him throughout the year when he's at the top, he's tough to stop, but you know you got help. But when he gets a, a live, uh, dribble in the post, like you kind of got to double. Mm-hmm. And now, now you can really pick him apart. He can get other guys involved cuz, uh, he can shoot his turnaround. He can shoot the same shots he's doing from the top. He can do it off the, off the post. You know, he can score anybody down there that's on Holiday, Tatum. So they gonna have to send somebody at some point. And then when they do, he's able to pick them apart and get other guys involved. So, I definitely agree with that.
