In this commentary clip, Draymond Green evaluates the San Antonio Spurs' defensive intensity following their victory over the Oklahoma City Thunder. Green expresses disappointment that the Spurs did not maintain the same level of focus when guarding NBA MVP Jalen Brunson, noting a lack of the expected matchup discipline—specifically, the absence of Stephon Castle on Brunson. He questions whether the team became complacent after the OKC win, suggesting they may have celebrated prematurely and considered the job done. Green emphasizes that sustained defensive effort and proper rotations are essential for competing at the highest level, and he calls for the Spurs to re‑establish that intensity.

To watch a guy guard the MVP of the NBA, back-to-back MVP of the NBA, as good as we've seen anyone guard him for 7 straight games, and then you come out and you're playing against Jalen Brunson and you're not glued to that guy, that was a bit disappointing to me. You gotta stack 'em up, man. You gotta line those guys up. Jalen Brunson should be next in line for Stephon Castle. I really didn't see that mentality. Now, if you didn't see that mentality, you ask yourself the question, All the crying and stuff. Are they a little drunk on the success that they've already had? Was their job done in beating OKC? Because the reaction to beating OKC really felt that way. Now you're talking a very young team, first time in this situation, gonna celebrate a bit, but the reaction felt a little like they may have felt like they won it already. And the defensive intensity at times, and that's my man, that's my matchup, I'm guarding this guy at times, we didn't see that. Down the stretch, Jalen Brunson scoring all them points. Where's Stephon Castle to guard him? That's what I want. Want to see. That's what everybody want to see. That's what you have to do if you want an opportunity to win at the highest level. And I just didn't quite see that.
