In a brief interview segment, Draymond Green asks Pascal Siakam about the recent DeMar DeRozan‑for‑Kawhi Leonard trade. Siakam first describes the immediate shock and personal hurt he feels, noting his close relationship with DeRozan and the anxiety it creates about his own future. After the initial emotional reaction subsides, he shifts focus to the business side of basketball, acknowledging the difficulty of losing a star player but expressing excitement about the opportunity to play alongside Kawhi Leonard, learn from his skill set, and explore the new possibilities for the team.

You guys then go on to trade DeMar for Kawhi Leonard. When you see that trade happen, I'm super close to DeMar. I know you have a relationship with DeMar as well. What are you thinking about the business of basketball, number one, to see your number one player get traded? But then also, what are you thinking when you see that y'all got Kawhi Leonard coming in?
The first thing is just the shock value of everything, right? Like, we saw DeMar in Vegas before all that. For someone that's just close to DeMar and like just love him as a person, like being a fan and also, and then also being like his teammate and his brother, I'm like, I'm hurt. And like you said, it's early on in my career. I'm thinking, like, if that happened to DeMar, like, I can't even imagine what's gonna happen to me. After the shock value, everything calmed down. You upset, you mad, but then after that, you think about, like, the player that you're getting in Kawhi Leonard. Like, that's another person that I'm like, yo, like, I watch from far, and I'm like, yo, like, his game is dope. And so from that, I'm just like, yo, I'm excited, like, being on the same team, being able to learn from him. Kind of like excitement to see, like, yo, what can we do with this person? 'Cause we've got a player that's really, really, really, really good, you know?
Yeah.
