UNBREAKABLE SPIRIT: The Making of Togetherland: Episode 1: The Gryphelant

This content was created by Bret Warshawsky. This content was uploaded by Bret Warshawsky. This is a YouTube video titled "UNBREAKABLE SPIRIT: The Making of Togetherland: Episode 1: The Gryphelant" (recorded/posted 2023-03-31). The excerpt is an informal, recorded group conversation (Zoom-style/podcast-like) featuring Bret Warshawsky along with two other participants labeled Speaker A and Speaker B. They engage in playful, improvised discussion about myth-making and co-creation—introducing a hybrid mythic creature (griffalant/griffalon/griffin+elephant), the Leprechaun Kin, the “Metaphor Mixmaster,” and how AI can prompt creative storytelling. The talk blends creative storytelling, spiritual/mystical themes (refractionary vs. reactionary, noosphere, Design Science), practical notes about recording/Zoom, and ideas for a shared mythos and co-creative projects (Togetherland, rebranding Earth, etc.).
Chapters
I wanna live in my heart beyond this concept we know as time. I don't just wanna be happy, I wanna live with some peace of mind. With who I am at all times. With who I am at all times. So I think life, think love, think righteous. So Lee and Dee, all in together, all about we, all we'll remember, 'cause it's all beyond me, all about free. So my spirit flow at ease, light years beyond my pride, just to carry over to shine inside my life.
Maybe it was all.
You're on mute.
So many stories we told, but no matter how intense or the depth, nothing keeps the truth unexpressed.
Testing one two. Testing one two.
Come in, Brett.
All right. Can you hear me?
Yeah. Cool.
All right. Episode one. That was the pilot, by the way. Right? We're gonna use that with all our Hollywood contacts to get me my first valuation of my company so we can get startups. So episode 1, The Griffalant Enters the Picture. Jump in and start that in whatever place you want, man.
All right, so I'm still seeing a screen share.
Oh, all right.
I hear music in the background.
Okay, let me get that.
Yeah, it'd be nice just to be present with you. There you are.
Wait one sec, it's still playing on my end. Yeah. All right, all right, old-timer can't listen to music at the same time he tells a story. That's, that's okay.
Come on now. All right, there we go. Um, okay, I'm gonna mix it up with you here. Um, as a matter of fact, you're sitting in front of the Metaphor Mixmaster. Yeah, the metaphor. The new improved Metaphor Mixmaster for juicing up your story living, right?
Yes, this is like me. This is like Oprah and what's her name, Gayle, on the couch beaming, beaming, beaming the best-case future scenario straight to their homes at the speed of life.
At the speed of life.
Yes.
So, so you heard about the Griffalant. I know you heard about the Griffalant. It's a bit of a tongue twister. And, and it's, you know, this— what, what I'm really looking forward to is pulling the tail of the Griffalant. Actually, I have a feeling there's quite a number of tails to be told of the Griffalant, you know. And, um, and, and I think that, that all of our conjuring, the beaming that we've done, and the playing with the leprechaun kin, and, and, and echoing our sensibilities out in the noosphere has really aligned us in this way of understanding that we are actually rooted in this mythilium, this story that grows through us all.
And—
Oh, you went on mute. I think I hit a button. Hold on, hold on.
I'm good.
Oh, that was me. That was my bad. Sorry, go ahead.
Okay, but I was just gonna say that, um, it seems to be that, that, um, you know, when I, when I arrived with you into the Design Science Studio, you and I were the only ones that really knew of the Leprechaun Kin, you know, which is kind of interesting, right? So I— to be the, you know, like, have that kind of like that purview. And then, you know, we realized that there's more of us than we anticipated. and, and that each is doing their thing and bringing their essence to the party. But one of the challenges I was having was, was realizing what, what the heck does a leprechaun look like?
Mm-hmm.
How do, how do you relate to it? How do you get us— other than get a sense of it through the wordplay and all that we've done? Um, and, and I was challenged by that. And, and so this is where we left off in the story of how did the griffon come into being? And I know you've been playing with AI.
Yep. Are you there? Yep.
Yeah, you've been playing with AI, as have I, just of late, but I stay away from it. We're just really curious, considering the sense of a leprechaun that, that, you know, we, we anticipated these capacities would be available one day for us to intermingle with what we've conjured. you know, up till now, and all the propensity to look out for what it was prerequisite agreement to. But nonetheless, it's off and running. And so I jumped in. And, you know, what's really interesting about the AI is, to me, it's a tool and it's about how you prompt it. And I know there's much more to that black box that needs to be understood. But for me, just trying to grasp it as a tool that I had at hand. You know, I started playing with it like you have, and it's kind of easy to tell when somebody writes something and just leaves it as is without editing it. It is what it is. You get a sense, oh, that is that AI thing spewing something of a reflection of what we've given it and fed it, and out it comes. But the curious thing is when you get something unexpected from it and then it prompts us, and that's what happened to me. Is that I had been having a conversation with what's-its-name, as we call it, and, and it, and it reflected back a character that the Leprechaun Kin had discovered to sit down with and, and learn about this story where somehow wandering in a jungle or a forest, they came upon this creature. Actually more likely a confluence of creatures, you might say, because it expressed in its AI-ness— there was an ele— there was an elephant, elephant, a, um, an eagle, and a lion that was a creature, this one singular creature that they came upon. And, and me reading this in what it expressed when I asked about a story about the leprechaun kin, um, I was like, well, what is that? being that it's expressing. I didn't put that in there, so it must be something out in the world that it's referencing. And the truth of the matter is, is there was nothing I could find that was an elephant, a lion, and an eagle. Now mind you, of course, there is a griffin.
Yeah.
You know, there's the griffin. And the griffin as we know it, G-R-I-F-F-I-N, was actually probably gryphon, G-R-Y-P-H-O-N, in Greek.
Hmm.
And that was a lion and an eagle, and it had an eagle's head, and it was very, you know, it was the prowess of those 2 creatures, kings in their own right, right, of their respective domain. And the griffin ended up, you know, in many cultures being— you probably saw them in Egypt, maybe, in some of the tombs and whatnot, looking over the treasures and the wisdom that was buried with the last ruler that had the uh, wherewithal to get somebody to, to do that for them. And, and so the griffin has been kind of this protector of, of stuff or thoughts or whatever throughout the ages. And so I was looking at that thing, and there's a griffin and an elephant. Well, holy smokes, there's a griffalant! I was like, wait, there's a griffalant? Suddenly the griffalant has landed, this creature which is a confluence of characters And if you look at, you know, to get to the point of the story, this notion that we've whittled away to create a character that forms into a letter that becomes a word to host an idea, to emit a notion that we can share this sense of these mixed metaphors to arrive at these ideas of what the heck is going on in our world. And, and so the curious thing for me was that the AI actually Prompted me, the human— some might say a leprechaun— but that it prompted me, and so then I applied my artful intelligence, which we humans have. And yet the AI, as artificial intelligence known as such, is, is, I think, lacking still. But, you know, our challenge is to emulate ourselves, I guess, and see ourselves in tools and enabling us to, to use them in a wise way, one would hope. But we'll See, it's, you know, humans at play again. So the griffalon came into being, and this co-creation is waiting to have its story told, like the leprechaun kin. You know, as I, as I mentioned a long time ago, it was not my story to tell. It was to meet you all, like you, Bret. And we've done our thing along the way. And, you know, it's, it's this, this intersection of, of, of play that we've come to that leads the way to something the future is asking us to see. That's where I've arrived at with the griffon. So what I'm looking at with the different circles and the realms that I'm playing in, those of story, those of the Design Science Decade, those of Buckminster Fuller Institute, those that are SPEAR now, is the griffon is something that we can see. It's unlike the leprechaun, you know, it's something that we can play with. And it's a G word. Weren't we always looking for what is this godlike figure in us that we see, that we want to express, that we have in each of us, the genius that we have, this G word that we have to play with? So the griffon is here as a story to be told by those willing to play. So here we go. The griffon has landed. What do you got to say, Brett?
First of all, I totally get where you're coming from with AI. Totally. I'm in the same space as far as like what my first experience of it. Totally, totally with what you shared at the beginning. Second, the combination—
Let's see you. Sorry, let's see you on the camera too.
Oh, you don't see? Hold on. It should— try, try switching your phone to some other Oh, hold on.
You pinned me for—
oh, sorry. Okay.
Oops.
Immersive view. Wow. Zoom has some kind of immersive view. I have to remember to look into that. Let me see. How about now? Is it still—
There you are.
Got it? Cool. So the combination of animals is amazing. Like, whenever you— last time you saw an elephant, like, in a different way? So the king, like, which— and they really are to some degrees the king of the jungle, in my opinion. But, um, so then you got the lion with that.
Yeah.
Um, it's so amazing, all of it, dude. It's so much fun. It's so much— and I've got a, a a meme for you that you're going to love. So the safe way to do genetic manipulation is meme splicing instead of gene splicing. So you did a meme splice, which is totally animal-friendly, right? And non-transhumanist. You know, it's not messing with, like, science and stuff when you do meme splicing, yet it can accomplish as much, and we know more than traditional physics and biology and all that stuff where it does get a little bit freaky and dangerous. So that's amazing, dude. You're a meme splicer. And if you combine that with the AI, it's like the CRISPR thing, which is out there, which does it for actual genetics. So that's just fucking badass, dude. You're a badass. We need to get you on your motorcycle. You're like a badass Harley-Davidson graphic designer, Noah Sphere, like, like whatever. That's so badass. You're so badass. And then finally, to do the G, I would love it if you would invoke the leprechaun saying, and I can do a little riff on the G.
That'd be great. But, um, before I do that, I want to make sure that you're going to be recorded because right now it's only recording my face. So you still got me pinned. All right, you need— you know, in, in this Zoomaluma, you got to, uh, if you want to be whoever you want on screen, or you could have both of us, um, whichever you prefer.
I think it should be fixed now. Check again. Are we like—
There you are. Perfect. Okay. All right, pizza shows on the Zoom. It's that setting, right?
Which one?
You've got the pizza setting on your Zoom?
Yeah.
Okay, so where were we?
What are we doing? Invoke, invoke the leprechaun spelling.
Gotcha.
On G.
I like it, I like it.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, we're on 1, 2, 3, G.
Okay, here we go. Hold on. Ready, set. All right, Bretster. A leprechaun, a leprechaun, tell me an age-old secret. E leprechaun, e leprechaun, where do you hide and keep it? You started with a word, this I've heard, and now I intend to seek it. Bret, give me the G word.
God knows how great it is. That this gigantic mission of intergalactic goof-offs are here for a game, an infinite game, an infinite world game, because we are OGs. We are original gamificationers. That's a gamificationer, is someone who's on vacation who gamifies reality to co-create the world that works for all, right? And finally, instead of getting paid, we get played. So it's kind of got some candid camera involved in there and some trickster prankster energy. So to round it all up, go, go, go! Do collect $200, do collect 200 tokens, do collect 200 NFT Together Lands, and make your way around the board. In the game of all games, the game of life and giving.
Long live the Griffalant.
Long live the Griffalant.
Yeah, you know, it's, it's, it's really fun to, to be in a sense of play, and I think that's, um, in all seriousness, where we need to be.
I've been telling, I've been telling my friends that the future has to look more— and I'll contextualize this for you if you're not sure— the future needs to look more like a Terry Gilliam movie than like a serious, like a serious sci-fi. I mean, you know, like, if we don't get over the edge of being more enlightened and lightened in that literal way, we'll never make it through the eye of the needle.
Yeah, well, listen to how enlightened the Grifollant is without being so, so too light. I mean, imagine the weight, the sheer weight that a griffalon carries in the notion of itself, right? And, and, and yet this thing prances around on the top of the clouds, and when it gets all excited— because it's a ray finder, right? So when the sun shines through, it goes racing off, bouncing from cloud to cloud. And, and, and, you know, the capacity of its trunk to hold water and, and emit that in the— into the clouds. And then as it springs from cloud to cloud, It shakes the raindrops loose, and then the sun rays come through, and we have these incredible rainbows, right? And the rainbows— look at the— they're right there. They're in the Metaphor Mixmaster, uh, right behind you. Uh, that is, you know, the— what's, what's blended together. And is, um— Did you know that when you actually drink that elixir You— it sends you on your way to becoming a refractionary, and you will actually lose all sense of reaction. The idea that you are— you are no longer a reactionary, and you have permission to be a refractionary. Are you having some of it right now? We've canned it. What? You're on mute.
It's a good thing I can remember my line in the screenplay. You are so badass.
I love all of that.
There's so much— I'm not being overabusive because it's so cool. Like, it's so— I'll tell you a brief story, and I'll send you some documents you can look at one day, because I've been sharing my origin stories and all the screenplays and how I've turned the pen into mightier than the sword, and that what I write becomes true. Like, I've got some old stuff you've never seen of mine, so I guess it's time. But when I first set out in 2011 with a new friend and I downloaded spiritual philanthropy, we were into the free energy, like the Sam Harriman and Tesla. Is it true? And our goal, because of all the rumors and bullshit, was like, could we find a blender that would work on free energy? That's no lie. And it was called the Free Energy Roadshow. And the tagline is energy is more than electricity. So we're going to make that blender right there work without any wires or anything to make that elixir. And yes, I've already done it myself, and it's in a bottle. It's so perfect for the, for the, for the, for the road trip. That was the Free Energy Roadshow. As a matter of fact, I like that name so much even better, I might even decide to change my original— like you're saying, hero's journey— like get rid of all that and just call it the Free Energy Roadshow again.
There you go.
Beautiful.
I love that thing. It reminds me of the rainbow. We've been talking here about spiral dynamics and integral, the 7 colors, and it gets weaponized to some degree because people are reactionary rather than refractionary. So I love that I now have this amazing next level quantum tool to basically put spiral dynamics into the smoothie, right, with all the other stuff and blend up a new type of elixir, like you're saying, which is refractionary.
Yes.
It's kind of like clockwork Turquoise. You know, there was Clockwork Orange, so this is like clock— this is like Clockwork Turquoise, which is the highest level, and that's biodynamics. So we should—
Yeah, and I've noticed that you've connected with Turquoise and you look forward to, uh—
Oh, I can't wait. Yeah, we're gonna have a really good— now that I'm getting more clear on my piece and like what it actually is and demonstrating it, I think with her it's going to be a powerful mix. Speaking of mixers.
Yeah. Yeah, yeah. And, and that's what it's all about. That's what the, the whole notion of, um, of each of us is. We, we are each a griffonant. We are each a confluence of characters. We're each, you know, you know, we, we have our genetic and our, you know, our, our cultural, um, you know, sensibilities. And, and it's just layers and layers and layers of of stuff that makes us up. And yet we've arrived at this amazing place that we can actually reach out and grab hold of this metaphor mix master, you know, and say, how do I, you know, what ingredients am I going to put in there? And, you know, right now the challenge is, you know, we're really facing— you know, it's really interesting. I was thinking this morning, you know, we came through this era of C3, this notion of command, control, and command. communication. And I, you know, the Leprechaun, you know, that story, you know, it— back in the day, T3 became the next thing. T3, you know, because, because they, you know, we were around when, when we broke truth and we just took trust out at the knees. And, um, and, and we've realized that transparency is a huge thing. And T3— truth, trust, and transparency— is really at question right now.
And it's about to be terminated.
Yeah. And yeah, so yeah, so what happens when we all have our own metaphor mixmaster? At home. The home—
yeah, the home co-creation shopping network. I like that. With your host, the Backcasting of Leprechauns.
Wait, instead of home— did you say home shopping backcasting?
The Home Co-Creation Shopping Network, so we can sell the Mixmasters.
Gotcha.
That's how you make— that's how you make a quick buck for a good cause, right? Remember when that was all popular, right? Home Shopping Network or whatever that is, and people would just buy things.
It's still on. It's still going. It's still all that people, that's all they— there's a migration. One would hope that, you know, where this notion of being a consumption society is subsiding because we know that all of the output and confluence that is emerging from the byproduct of our existence dependent on shopping is absurd, right?
Yeah.
And yet it's like, it's in motion. And so how do we slow that?
I don't think we do. I think we speed it up so much that it goes flying off the record player, like a spiral.
There it goes.
There goes the shopping. Capitalism gone.
Oh my God, it's gone.
It's like, holy shit, it just took off.
It's like a UFO.
My God. That's what I'm thinking. I don't know. Whatever's the most effortless, least resistant path to a world that works for all. Just as a reminder to the audience, despite our creativity, because that's how we change the world and we want to contribute because our creativity is our You know, it's for real, it's in service. So it's never really, uh, uh, um, what's the word, like aloof or like disconnected. Like, that's the dream, I think, of all of us. It's like, how does our art, as much as it's fun too, like you're saying, it's serious play, it's actually brilliantly communicative to certain people, I think. So this is just super exciting.
Yeah. And, you know, Bret, so, so, I mean, to, to kind of here's my chunk. Because on the one hand it's like, oh, what can we do with this? How can we, you know, what are we turning into? What do we, what do we do with that? How do we play with it? You know, and, and it reminds me of the beaming, you know, and we just said, well, let's go do this. And so we tried it and shit happened. It was really fun. And, uh, we have the artifacts from that and, you know, they're there to, to reflect upon. But, but what's next? And, and, and, and for me, again, it's all part— these are nested spheres, you know, it's one story and another. And so for me, this is still all just part of that beaming story and how do we play together? How do we merge and weave? And so the griffalon, I think, gives a platform to say, like in the story universe that I'm involved with, hey, come tell a story about the griffalon. What do you— did you know, you know, you, you, Brett, you talk about UFOs. Well, did you know, actually, I've heard now that it— what it's, it's always been the griffin, like albatross. They are always up there, and every once in a while they'll swoop down for a closer look, and, and a human may catch a glimpse. And, you know, it's like, oh, there's UFOs up there. It's just a glyph. They're just the griffon swooping down, you know.
Totally.
Yeah, and, and I think that, that it's time to, to engage others and let them share, uh, their notions of other stories of, uh, the griffalon and its effect, or why it's come, or what it may look like, what it sounds like. What can you imagine the sounds of a griffalon are within and exterior, what the sounds that it makes when it passes by, you know?
I know I could tell you one, like for me, when it flies, when it flies by, sometimes it sounds like the opening to Voodoo Child by Stevie Ray Vaughan. So it's like, and it's like flying down. That's what it sounds like, right?
And it's got a cymbal, kind of a hi-hat going.
Totally.
Okay, you know, um, so there's a lot there to work with and to create a, a, um, I guess, a, a space of, of practice, of, of creating, co-creating this new mythic mythos, this kind of mythic operating system of, of, um, understanding the ecosphere. This last fairy tale is This new mythos is— this is about, um, the noosphere and the mythilium. It's that tingling and tangling.
Yeah.
It's that, you know, our heads are in the cloud and we're in this commons of mind, but yet our feet are grounded in this, in the way our, our sensibilities are spread and shared. And, and, uh, and then you have the leprechaun where this kind of all conjured up the notion of making the invisible visible through the rainbow and the electromagnetic spectrum. And, and, and, and then out of all of this comes the griffalon to say, all right, enough already, let's, let's get on with it. Here's the story, here's what we need, you know, to share, and here's what's pulling forth from the future. And so, um, beaming to you live from wherever the heck we are. Oh, Earth! I forgot to mention Earth, uh, because that's critical. It's a focal point, it's where we are, it's our center of gravity. And, um, I think we've talked a little bit about it, but I love the notion that David Abrams brings into it when he says we need to center ourselves. I need to be on Earth, and therefore if I put myself between the A and the Earth, I are— I have air, and air is a component of the Earth for me to be alive in it. And therefore the word should really be Earth. And, um, so I think the Grifflont, um, are really going to be adamant about Life on Earth.
That's awesome.
Yeah, yeah.
I mean, practically speaking, Earth needs a rebranding. I mean, literally, why, why, why does it have to be— I, I like, just from a thought experiment thing of dogma, right? Like, it wasn't always called that. It's not like that would be a watershed moment where the planet gets together and somehow consensually, consensually, like For a world that works for all, we'd be like— and who knows what it is, Earth, whatever— but imagine that, like, we ourselves claim that relationship with the Earth that you're talking about and christen it, like, with a new name according to its wishes too. Like, we'd be able to call on the animals and the Earth and the thing because we have clairvoyance. It's a transmedium production, right? So, like, we have different languages. Yeah, yeah. So then clearly there'd be many names as well. But that's nice. I like it. I think I think Earth is a little bit like come on guys, like you're saying it sent in the Griffalons, right? It's like Spartacus and shit.
Well, that's how leprechauns came into being because they said, "Well, wait a second." So at one point we didn't know to call ourselves humans.
Right. And and there you go.
Well, wait. But now we've even evolved beyond that, and now we are a leprechaun. And And so therefore, why wouldn't the place that we are, our sense of place, yeah, yeah, be expanded to include, um, which goes hand in hand actually with a leprechaun, the idea of electrons, protons, and consciousness, that I would be a part of Earth.
Yeah.
And there's your, there's your fractal, um, of the whole on, right?
Yep.
Yes.
Awesome.
Brett, why don't you, why don't you wrap us with, um, that the aspect of the fractal entertainment that you see and how this is a part of a vision that the, that, that Earth and the future is willingness towards?
I feel like the griffalons are like protectors, like Shambhala warriors, and also Sherpas at the same time. Like, so Sherpas of co-creation. So they take us up to that summit, like, in a sense.
Okay.
There's like this, whatever the saying, that there's many ways up the mountain and all. So they're kind of like Sherpas and also warriors and even mountain patrol, like paramedics and everything. So they got this combination of skills. And we're just going to find them being almost like a bee is known to cross-pollinate. So in social situations, people call them bumblebees, like people that go around to different meetings in a gathering. bumbling around, but they're fucking bumbling around, right? Imagine if they were griffalonting around. And I feel like the griffalonts can go across the structure of Togetherland, which is based on pi. So there's all these different chapters and acts, but griffalonts have the, like, a leprechaun ability to— and a chameleon ability to tie the— to glue things together, I would say. So I don't know how they show up, like, literally visually or energetically, but But conceptually, as far as answering your question, that's my first intuition or way I'm going to think about it until the next— our next greatest idea shows up.
Thank you. Yeah, it's just curious. I mean, it's— I don't know. There seems to be a longing. Speaking with Grant— Graham Dempsey, there seems to be a longing for a godlike thing, right? We know that. And somehow that keeps coming back into the story that we weave and pull on. And if you think about that, if we're a fractal of the whole and we're component of it, then we're godlike in that nature. And yet, is it blasphemous to speak of ourselves that way? And if you speak of this hero's journey or becoming genius, is that not the self-realization that we are? Just a fractal component. I don't know, just—
You're not gonna— you're not gonna get an argument from me. I'm like the Illuminati in the conspiracy. So in the conspiracy realms, that, that the idea is that the Illuminati, quote unquote, always have to announce what they're gonna do, right? I'm into all that because I like to understand belief systems, by the way, right? So I studied the occult just like I studied physics, just like I studied mythology, right? Like, I needed to know all these different belief systems. So in that conspiracy realm, they always have to say it in that way. I'm always— I'm kind of like that in an illuminated way, which is what you just shared is real for me personally. It's not a supposal or proposal. I don't know if it will look obviously the way I think it will, because nothing ever kind of does. But what you just shared is exactly what I'm anticipating and what I kind of— and what I actually believe in, and that it's the logical And I use the word purposely. The logical conclusion of spirituality, of self-inquiry, of self-realization is what you're describing. We are one shared being that fractally expresses itself as a refracted essence of creativity. I mean, so yes, 100% yes to that. Let's just use those superpowers for the benefit of all. And when you have those superpowers, they actually include the consciousness for all. You can't have them any other way. You can't cheat that. So that's my opinion on that matter, Mr. Mark, Agent Smith.
Oh, thank you. That's— no, I love it. I love it.
We have to be preposterous. The preposterousness of spirituality, quote unquote, or mysticism is exactly that.
