So go ahead, take a copy of Necessary Endings Some Things need to Die for you to Live available on Amazon or jrlester.com thank you.
Every Sunday, end the worship service at the church, our pastor with the following statement. If no one tells you you're loved, you are somebody. You're the somebody that God loves, somebody that God needs, and the somebody the world doesn't know they can't live without. These small affirmations to me are extremely meaningful because there's power behind knowing and owning your value. Because you matter enough to matter. You're important. So you are so important that you have purpose and you can walk in that purpose and within the protection of God. God has a very precarious way of helping you take control of your own life. Because he's in control. Listen to the words of Christ In Matthew, chapter 11, verses 26 through 30 from the Message translation it says this. Are you tired and worn out and burned out from religion? Come to me, get away with me and you recover your life. I'll teach you how to take a real rest, walk with me and work with me. And watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won't lay anything heavy or ill fitting on you. Keep company with me and you'll learn to live freely and lightly. See? Don't miss out on transformational moments in your life because you are not willing to stop and to be transformed. As we engage in deepening our wells and engaging in core values, I want to give you this today. That email that you're so worried about can be sent in the morning. That text that's such peril to you can be read tomorrow. That television show will not change the future of your life and that status will still be there in 25 minutes. You're worth the time to pause, to rest. The betterment of who you are is so vitally important. God provides us transformational opportunities each and every day. Even if that transformational opportunity begins with ending something. So what doesn't need to be on your calendar this week? Think about it. What meeting do you know this week will not change a thing? Cancel it. What coffee will not change anything this week? Don't go. What phone call will not lead you to the place where you're trying to get? Don't make it. What thing do you need to do that will push you to be who God's called you to be? Do it. What conversation do you need to have? What phone call do you need to make? Make it. The betterment of who you are is what's most important and when you put that at the forefront of your day to day engagement, you'll see you'll get better every single day. God, provide transformational opportunities to us every day. Even if that transformation is ending something. Take intentional time with who you are, with God, with a loved one. This week, put God on your calendar, put your family on your calendar and relentlessly work to keep them on it. So here's some questions I'll ask you as you go into your week this week. What in person meetings need to be on the phone? What opportunities do you not need to engage in? What co workers and classmates do you need to just release? Who do you need to release energy from this week? Know this. You matter enough to end what's against you.
