Justin R. Lester argues Jesus hasn't returned because God is patient, wanting people to be saved. He cites 2 Peter 3:9 and 1 Timothy 2:3-4, but notes God's desire for all to be saved doesn't force it: people can still reject him.

Do you know the number one reason why Jesus has not returned yet? I want you to watch this. It's going to change your life. See, many people misunderstand this and they miss out on an opportunity to go to heaven. But let me give you the answer. The Bible says that in Second Peter, chapter three, verse nine, that God is not slow in coming back, but he's patient, not wanting anyone to perish. But then in First Timothy, chapter two, verses three and four, God literally says that he desires all the people to be saved. But you see, just because God wills all people to be saved does not mean that all people will be saved. This is because there are literally people burning in hell right now. And there are people who will be burning in hell in the future. But it's not because God sent them there. They've actually gone there by their own will because they chose to reject God. So I don't believe that you're watching this by accident.
