Are you a Christian and a believer and you're wondering, how can I talk about Jesus at work? How can I engage with the gospel at work? Well, I'm here to help you today. Stay tuned because I want to give you five ways that you can talk about God at work. Before I jump into this video, please be sure to like and subscribe. My goal on this channel is to utilize this work and utilize the medium of social media outside of the pulpit that I pastor in to share the truth of the scriptures to give you scriptures, to give you practical ways to apply your faith. So please be sure to like and subscribe and turn on notifications and if you, if you don't mind, leave a comment. That helps me, that helps the algorithm. You guys know all that type of stuff. But let's jump into five ways you can talk about God at work. Number one, know this. Your actions speak louder than your words, especially on the job and at your job. Your workplace is a place of worship. We spend more time at our jobs than we do anywhere else. And what your actions say about you at your job speaks volumes. It's one thing for us to tell you to disciple your children, but how do you disciple your co workers? Colossians, chapter 2, verse 23:24 says this. Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart. Working for the Lord, not human masters since you know you're going to receive an inheritance. So how do we put God first at work? Well, number one, I want you to show integrity. I want you to show integrity. Integrity is doing what you will say and taking responsibility for it even if you can't accomplish it. For example, if you promise your co workers that you're going to meet a certain deadline and you don't do it, well, integrity says number one, I'm going to try my best to keep the promise. And integrity says number two, if I don't do it, complete it, I'm gonna be honest with my team and my co workers that didn't complete it. It's not beating people over the head with the Bible, it's being a person of integrity. God takes his promises serious, so may you take yours serious as well. When you put God first at your work, you're saying that God is a promise keeper, promise maker. I'm going to emulate that. In Matthew chapter 5, verses 33 through 37, Jesus tells us to fulfill the oaths, the promises that we make. He says, let your yes be yes, let your no be no. Right? Number two, be respectable. Everyone wants to be well liked, but to be well respected is a different trait. Respect is not given, respect is earned. That's being a person of self control, being a person who's hospitable, being a person who is a leader and a pleasant team player, that you listen to others. You maintain a peaceful temperament. You are willing to learn from mistakes. That's not me saying it. That's first Timothy, chapter three, verse number three. And sometimes you want to call out a co worker. You want to cuss somebody out. You want to go off on somebody who takes all the glory for a job that a team did. It can be easy to let your temper rage when work gets tense. But get this. When you put God first at work, you're always respectful, even when someone disrespects you. Matter of fact, that's a whole piece with Jesus. Jesus says if someone does something to you, turn the other cheek. Literally, that you keep turning your cheek until they get tired of hitting you. Be respectful and show off Jesus. The Bible instructs us to show respect to everyone around us and take our thoughts captive. That's 1 Peter, chapter 2, verse 17 and 2nd Corinthians, chapter 10, verse 5. When we refrain from sharing every thought that comes to your mind. The Holy Spirit is guiding our actions. Can I give you a principle? Put a red light between your mind and your mouth. Put a red light between your mind and your mouth. Some thoughts need to stay here and not come here. Number three, Give encouragement. You've been overwhelmed at work and I'm sure your co workers have been overwhelmed at work as well. Can you recall those times at work where you needed someone to just encourage you to remind you of your confidence? The Bible encourages us to do the very same things. Hebrews, chapter 10, verse 24 and 1 Thessalonians, chapter 5, verse 11. A brief thank you or congratulatory note or a handwritten note or a text message goes a long way in terms of building camaraderie and also showing off Jesus and building relationships at work. Give encouragement. Number four. Be truthful. Whether you report data on spreadsheets, whether you drive a forklift, whether you send messages, whether you send emails, where you perform employee evaluations, Be truthful. We are commanded to speak the truth in love to our peers, our managers and ourselves. Sometimes the hardest thing to do on your work is tell the truth, especially when there's risk involved. The world wants us to fudge numbers to get a bonus. The world wants us to climb the corporate ladder with no regard of who we kill on the way up the ladder. Proverbs 16:8 says this better a little with righteousness than much with injustice. God is more concerned with about you being truthful than being successful. And when we put God first at work, he'll make sure you have everything you need. And number five, I want you to lead with your labor. Jesus was a carpenter who was a tecton and he was known for making things with his hands. He wasn't afraid of getting dirty. He wasn't afraid of long hours. And nothing shows we appreciate God more and appreciate where he's put us than doing the work of what we prayed for. Let me tell you this, the job you're at you prayed for. So work with love. First Corinthians 3:8 teaches us that an added bonus is a reward when we do hard work. And sometimes it looks like the volunteering project or volunteering for something extra that no one else wants to do. Sometimes it looks like working extra, sometimes it looks like working over, and sometimes it looks like work life balance of knowing when to say no. As with any job, there's ebbs and flows. There's some days you want to do it, there's some days you don't want to do it. But remember, you are not working out of your own strength. You have supernatural strength because you've been assigned to where you are. Ephesians 6, Philippians 4, Psalm 46. When you don't feel like you have the strength to do the work, trust that God is going to get the work done through you. You've been anointed for where you work. You can put God first there too and make disciples wherever you go. We are not just Christ followers at church, you're a Christ follower at work too. I pray this encourages you. Please be sure to like and subscribe. Turn on those notifications. We continue simply to share the Gospel. If you have anything that you want to know about, anything you're curious about, you want to learn about, leave it in the comment section. I hope to get back to you and if you comment, I want to comment back to you. God bless you wherever you work and know that you've been anointed for what you do. Now go show off Jesus where you are.
