Two speakers argue that lifestyle evangelism alone isn't enough. Christians must explicitly preach the gospel: explain sin, Christ's death and resurrection, and guide people to call on the Lord for salvation. Verbal proclamation can't be replaced by example alone.
Lazy Christians are gonna hate me for this one. Check this out.
Lifestyle evangelism is a cop out for anyone who doesn't want to actually preach the gospel. It's not a scriptural practice nor does it yield the same results. And the Bible says let your light so shine before men that they may see your good works and glorify your Father which is in heaven. But what it doesn't say is let your light so shine before men that they may be saved. The only way to do that is by actually opening your mouth boldly to make known the mysteries of the gospel. The Bible says that the gospel is the power of God into salvation to everyone that believeth to the Jew first and also to the Greek. People who over emphasize lifestyle evangelism simply don't want to take the time to learn the systematic steps in getting someone saved, teaching them about their condition before God, that they deserve hell, that Jesus Christ paid for their sins on the cross, that he resurrected the third day, and that if they believe on him exclusively for salvation, they can be saved, and ultimately assisting them in calling on the name of the Lord so that they can be saved.
