This is a YouTube video titled "Landlord Explains Rent Hikes: It's Not What You Think!" featuring a monologue by a landlord discussing the reasons behind rent increases, focusing on maintaining and improving property value and tenant living conditions. The speaker explains the financial strategy and long-term benefits of these decisions. The content is from June 16, 2025.
I mean, who wants to get slapped with a $200 increase in rent? I mean, I know I wouldn't want to do that. I mean, but the reality is you have to, you have to run a healthy business so I can reinvest in the property and continue to make the property safe. And I'm not a slumlord, right? I am taking these increased rents. So this one property, for example, we just increased the rent over $300 a month. And across five, five properties that I just bought, we have a roadmap to increase cash flow to over $2,000 a month. I'm going to be taking that $2,000 a month in cash flow, reinvesting in the property, making improvements and upgrades to ultimately benefit both the tenants lives right for the time that they're living there. And also the asset property itself. I'm going to be making improvements to the property so it's worth more in the long run. Owning real estate isn't just about cash flow. Sometimes it's about making those hard, smart and sustainable decisions for the long term. So I don't know, what would you do?
