This is a YouTube video titled "My Broker Told Me to LIQUIDATE My Business?! (Here's What I Did)" featuring a personal narrative from May 25, 2025. The speaker shares their experience with a business broker advising them to liquidate their two restaurants and two candy stores, their emotional reaction, and their decision to give themselves six months to try to fix the situation before quitting.
And again, most people, when they start their businesses, they think, someday I'll sell it. And so I was like. I hired this broker, and he sat me down. I had two restaurants, two candy stores. And he was like, don't bother. And I was like, what do you mean, don't bother? And he was like, there's not really anything worth selling here. Just liquidate and move on. And I was like, what? Like I had staff. It wasn't like I was doing everything. So I didn't understand. And so after I cried a little bit and had a moment, I decided to think about, is he right? Because sometimes brokers can be lazy, right? Is he right? And I realized on some level, he probably is. And I thought, okay, do I want to just quit, or do I give myself some time to see if I could fix it? I gave myself six months. And I figured I could do anything for six months. I could do this for six more months. And then at the end of that six months, if I haven't fixed the things, found a buyer, then I have, like, my full permission to bail. So that's what I did.
