That was the best worst day of my life. I made a conscious decision my senior year that I was going to go all in. I was going to try my hardest. I was going to do everything right. I was going to work through whatever I needed to work through. I had dedicated myself. I go through a whole pre-draft process. I feel like I dominate it. Agent calls me up. Yeah, we're looking at the late rounds, 5, 6, 7. This is going to be a great time for you. Like share it with your friends and family, all that stuff. Have everybody over sitting at the edge of my couch waiting for that ESPN moment and For four hours, we sat there with a camera and never happened. And that moment of like just not being good enough, and I remember just getting sat down on the porch the next morning with my dad, and he's like, "You're gonna have to be a grown man now. Be a grown man. Work. Whatever you've done in the past wasn't good enough. Accept it. Improve on it. Be better. Whatever it takes." In that moment, he said that that flipped me back into grind mode. Let's improve. I don't care if I wasn't good enough in the past. I'm going to be good enough when final roster cuts come. To be able to go through that moment and truly understand.
