Alex Hormozi explains that his world mission was to avoid being broke and to prove his father wrong

Alex Hormozi says his world mission was never being broke and proving his father wrong. He used fear of poverty as fuel, arguing that when you have no choice, you can achieve extraordinary things. Hate, he suggests, can be a more powerful motivator than love.
Hormozi taught me that hate, not love, is actually what fueled his success. And maybe that's a lesson that you need today. Check it out.
I think that, you know, most human behavior is— it just comes down to carrots and sticks. And we do things that we have been rewarded from in the past, and we recognize a similar situation and we extrapolate what happened or our behavior that worked for us then to that new situation that looks similar enough. And so for me, it was like it was hatred that, that fueled me for the beginning. For sure, like it was not like it's so funny. Like you hear the Silicon Valley like entrepreneurs or like you know these guys who fund you know fundraise at Shiloh and they're like we just really wanted to make this impact and we want to change the world. Like I was trying to not be broke. That was my my my world mission was like don't be broke, don't let my dad be right, and that was it. And I knew that no matter how much pain I was going through, it was less than the idea of having to go back and tell him he was right and then have to in my opinion because I had escaped and I'm using that as strong language but like it it took everything of my willpower. Literally facing my own death in order to get me to, you know, die to him, which I very much did. The idea of having to go back to that situation in order to live the rest of my life there was just not acceptable. And one of my favorite frameworks for like getting through hard shit is it's amazing what you can accomplish when you have no choice.
Sometimes that chip on your shoulder is actually your greatest competitive edge.
