Author Philip Gabbard shares part 1 of his near death experience.

In this interview, Nick Hutchison asks Philip Gabbard to share his recent near‑death experience. Gabbard begins by describing a series of profound personal losses: his brother, who was his closest confidant, and his brother’s two sons who both died at age 33—one by suicide and the other in a motorcycle accident. He explains how these tragedies left him emotionally raw. In August of the same year, Gabbard lost his brother. During a spiritual healing session with a practitioner in Mexico, which involved acupuncture and meditation, he reports entering what he calls a “zero‑point God” state. In that state he was suddenly whisked to heaven, where he was held by his deceased brother. He characterises the experience as the most enlightening of his life and expresses a compulsion to tell others about it.
