An author explains the expanded self as an alter-ego of who you want to become. The process: vividly visualize your desired identity with all its details and emotions, then build daily habits that match that vision. Feeling the vision comes first, then consistent action follows.

In your book, you talk about this concept of the expanded self. I would love to know what that is.
So in the book, I talk about the expanded self, and essentially some people may call that like your alter ego, but it's really to me who you truly want to be, that next level version of you. And so I have created so many next level versions of myself, my expanded self, whoever it is that we want to be, we wanna start being that person today through our habits. And so in the book, I talk about visualizing what does that person wear? What do they look like? Where do they live? What are they doing? Who are they around? Kind of dreaming and sitting in that and savoring the feelings of all those emotions in that visualization. I found that this is one of the best and easiest ways to move from where you are to where you wanna be is through the feelings of visualization. And, you know, first it's the feelings, but then next it's the actions. So what does that person do and how can I do that every day?
