Consistency compounds, with Nick Bare #short #shorts

Nick Bare runs 7-10 miles every morning and follows a strict diet. He and Nick Hutchison argue that consistency compounds: small daily actions beat occasional heroics. David Goggins calls it the "feed the cows" mentality.

Yeah, there's this strange phenomenon which happens. I think it's attributed especially to young people, right? We're all in our late 20s or 30s. And people say, you know what, young people don't hustle or they don't work hard or whatever the case is. And sometimes that's true. Like in Can't Hurt Me by David Goggins, he says you need to become uncommon amongst the uncommon because being uncommon isn't really that hard these days. A lot of people are lazy. They're watching Netflix. They're just sitting back and relaxing. And that's what I really love about the feed the cows mentality. It is what it is. It's hard work. You have to show up and do it every single day, and there's no other option.
Yeah, I've completely adopted that to every part of my life, and it just is consistency. I say this thing, consistency compounds, and it's true because when you just show up every day, you're not going to show up and do something crazy. It's not like I'm running 100 miles every day. I'm not going and doing these crazy things every day, but I'm just very consistent with the things that I do. Like every morning, I know I'm gonna go run anywhere from 7 to 10 miles. I'm going to eat a healthy diet. I'm going to stay on top of my hydration.
