Have you been taught to visualize things the right way?🤔#halelrod #themiraclemorning

Visualizing only the end result tricks your brain into thinking you've already won, killing your drive to act. Instead, spend most of your visualization time on the specific actions you'll take today. The brain stays engaged, motivation stays high, and you actually get there.

We are taught to visualize the end result. You know, The Secret, the movie 10 years ago, made the vision boards really popular. I'll have a vision board, right? And we're taught to just visualize the end result. Well, there's value in that, but there's also potentially risk in that, or danger, if you will. The danger is that if you visualize the end result over and over and over again, you trick your brain into thinking that it's as good as done, and that can actually diminish your drive to make it happen. Give you an example. When I was training for an ultramarathon, I visualized the finish line over and over and over again. Well, if that's all I would have done, I literally would have been like, yeah, man, I got this. I'm going to do this. I believe it. And that, by the way, is the value in visualizing the outcome. The end result is it does increase both your belief that it's possible, because once you've seen it over and over again, you start to go, Yeah, that's my reality. Like, that's gonna happen. It also increases your desire because you go, yeah, that feels good. I can't wait for that to be a reality. But you can't leave it at that. In fact, I believe that's the least important part if I were weighing the two of visualization. The most important part is to create an optimum emotional experience around the ideal action you're committed to take today. Explain what that means. When I was training for that ultramarathon, I'd visualize the finish line and that got me excited. It got me to believe like, yeah, I've never been a runner, but man, I can do this. I can see what it's gonna look like. That was literally 30 seconds of my visualization, maybe 60 seconds. The majority of time for visualization went into the activity that I would take today.
