Nick Hutchison rips pages out of books and carries them around to review throughout the day. He says the paper note beats digital note-taking because it keeps you focused and away from your phone, and repetition sticks the material in your head.

Here's the main reason why ripping a page out of a book is more efficient than taking notes on your phone or on your laptop. I love ripping a page out and keeping it with me all day long. I'm able to review the information as often as possible, and as we know by now, repetition leads to retention. Also, when you take notes on your phone or on a laptop, you can get distracted and you might end up scrolling reels for 20 minutes when you meant to review your book notes. It's important to have this physical piece of paper, develop a relationship to it, take notes with it. And this is one of my favorite tips for getting more from the books that you're reading.
