In this YouTube monologue, Nick Hutchison confesses that he recently read the sci‑fi novel Project Hail Mary by Andy Weir and was blown away by the experience. He explains that his wife’s enthusiasm—she listened to the audiobook three times and called it the best book she’s ever read—prompted him to pick it up. Hutchinson also mentions the upcoming 2026 Ryan Gosling film adaptation, which his wife wants to watch together. He reflects on a ten‑year period spent focusing on personal development, during which he read little fiction, and realizes that fiction uniquely allows the impossible to become possible with a pen. He describes the reading as a beautiful, fun experience and invites viewers to comment with sci‑fi space fiction recommendations.

I have a confession. I just read a fiction book and it was amaze, amaze, amaze. The book was Project Hail Mary by author Andy Weir. And I read this book because my wife listened to the audio 3 times in a row and said it was the best book that she's ever read. Plus, there's a fun movie with Ryan Gosling coming out in 2026 and she wants me to watch it with her. Now, I haven't read much fiction over the last 10 years because I've been so focused on personal development, closing the gap between where I am and where I want to be. And I didn't realize that fiction is the only place where the impossible becomes possible with the stroke of a pen. And it was such a beautiful experience going through this book. So comment down below and share some fiction recommendations with me, especially in this kind of sci-fi space. It was a lot of fun to read.
