Is “giving” as important as “knowledge”?

Nick Hutchison argues generosity deserves equal weight with formal education, especially in the US where degrees matter more than kindness. He recommends Performance Driven Giving by David L. Hancock and Bobby Kipper, which teaches that giving directly drives success.

Have you ever heard a statement that's considered radical but it really shouldn't be, right? It's just common sense, but for some reason the world doesn't accept it. Here's one for you: giving is just as important as knowledge. But over here in the western side of the world, specifically the United States, we value things like, where did you go to school, over, are you a generous person. It seems so contradictory, but it's true. We care a lot more about knowledge than we do giving, but they're really equal components to a job. You know, as the team at Book Thinkers starts to grow a little bit, are you generous? Do you give outside of work? Are you of service to the world? Those are things that matter a lot more to me than where did you go to school. And in this book, Performance Driven Giving by authors David L. Hancock and Bobby Kipper, you're going to get the roadmap to unleashing the power of generosity in your life. And there's a little line on the back here, it says, give and live like no No one else. I had a lot of major takeaways from this book, one being that the more you give, the more successful you are, both personally and professionally. And I'm definitely going to use their strategies to implement more performance-driven giving in my own life. But that little reframe of giving as a soft skill is just as important, if not more important, than knowledge. I mean, what a radical concept that really shouldn't be radical. If you want more information like that, definitely check out this book.
