What do you think? #shorts

Nick Hutchison uses a rubber band analogy to explain sales success: your core values are the center, modest stretching works, but push too far and you break. Stay aligned with who you are and expand gradually, or clients see the strain.

I have a question. What do human beings and rubber bands have in common? I'm going to answer that in just a second. The metaphor comes from this book, Selling from Your Comfort Zone, by author Stacy Hall, and the subtitle is The Power of Alignment Marketing. Here's the deal. Stacy says that human beings have core values. That's kind of like the center of this rubber band. And when you want to expand, you can sort of grow the rubber band, right? It still performs its intended function even when you stretch it a little bit. But if you continue stretching it and you stretch it a little bit too far, you're going to break your rubber band. And in that scenario, the rubber band no longer performs its intended function. It can't constrict anything or hold anything together, right? And so human beings are the same way. You want to work from your comfort zone. You want to sell from your comfort zone, expanding slowly, but still operating from a place of core values. Because if you get outside of your comfort zone, the rubber band is going to stretch. so far that it breaks, and then you can't sell effectively anymore. Your clients are going to notice that something is wrong. You're selling from a place of uncertainty. You're all frazzled. It's a weird place. I've been there. You don't have to get outside of your comfort zone to be an effective salesperson. Now, if that interests you, you feel a little bit pushy, you feel uncomfortable sometimes, check out this book. There are so many great perspective changes that you can adopt that it took me years and years and years to learn. Shout out Stacy Hall. Awesome book. I hope you guys check it out.
