Nick Perry lays out three rules he thinks men should follow: never show up empty-handed to someone's home, always stand to greet people, and introduce strangers at gatherings so they feel welcome. He frames these as lessons fathers should pass down.

Here are three manly things that your father should have taught you. Number one, if you've been invited somewhere, never show up empty handed. Especially if you've been invited to somebody's house. Bring something either for the host themselves or something to share with everybody that's there. It doesn't need to be expensive. Number two, always stand when greeting somebody. If you're in a situation where you're sitting down, maybe you're at dinner, don't sit down and shake their hands. Number three, when you are at a gathering and there's somebody that's new you and they don't know anybody, make the introduction for them. It's a really nice thing to do. It's going to make them feel a lot more comfortable.
