YouTube video by Nick Perry (uploaded November 7, 2025) that juxtaposes a brief customer service call—where a caller reports a leaking roof and a representative named Ricardo struggles to provide scheduling information—with creator commentary about AI’s role and efficiency in customer service jobs. The call excerpt highlights slow or limited human responsiveness and frames the subsequent argument that AI could improve or replace such roles.
If I called your business right now, would somebody pick up?
Yes.
Are you sure?
To speak with a representative, please press 1 now. Thank you.
This is Ricardo. How may I help you?
Hi, Ricardo. I'm looking for a roof. There's a leak.
You're looking to get an inspection done?
Well, I just. I'm looking for a roof. There's a leak, and the roof isn't handling the leak. All right.
I can forward a message and have someone get back to you. May I have your name?
How long will that take? It's like leaking looking real bad right now.
I'm not sure, man.
You don't know how long it'll take to get information back to me?
I don't. I don't have the scheduling, so I'm not sure how busy they are.
I think I just need to talk to somebody else. Thank you.
Point taken. We'll fix that.
This is exactly why most business owners are replacing their staff with AI. No. Hate to the guy on the phone, but the right AI system would have answered immediately and transferred her to a representative on that very same call. Literally doing 200% of the work in just 10% of the time. Kudos to the business owner for taking accountability and knowing what needed to be fixed.
