In case you live under a rock, these schools put a large emphasis on giving kids the freedom to learn at their own pace by actively doing things instead of regurgitating information. They pick their own subjects, focus on individual learning, and also ban screens. This is because Dr. Maria Montessori believed that a child absorbs everything from their environment unconsciously, and screens create too much stimulation, which stops the brain's growth. Montessori schools may make public schools look like mass brainwashing centers preparing our kids for slavery, but they're not the ultimate solution because there is something bigger to learn here. Not everyone has your best interest at heart, so just do what you think is best for you and your family.
